The most amazing seafood in Las Vegas! Probably the best seafood on the planet. Try it - you won't regret, I promise.
The most amazing seafood in Las Vegas! Probably the best seafood on the planet. Try it - you won't regret, I promise.
Eaten here several times over the years. A bit too self absorbed for my taste given the atmosphere and food overall. Good sushi spot. Good bar
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food - organic salad, curried salmon and flourless chocolate cake were insane. Great value at $28 from the business lunch menu.
Outstanding seafood and steak! The service there was attentive and timely. Our server Clifton made great recommendations of the chef's specialties with perfect wine pairings for each course. A must visit when I return back to Vegas!
Cheer him on but I will never forget the terrible experience I had there when I took my mom for her birthday on a very slow Sunday night.... Did not get a drink for almost 20 minuets, you were out of 2 different vodkas, and the kicker... Served us muscles that some weren't opened (means they are bad) and when I was just going to push them to the side and not say anything, there was then a hair in it too! So then when I said something... I was then asked if I wanted them to exchange the exact number of muscles that were bad (in a rude tone). Not one apology. Oh and funny thing I am in the hospitality industry and even gave them my card. I do have to say after following up with them... I will never send anyone there again.
Located near THEhotel, just before the escalators to Mandalay Place. Had a late night sushi snack here and chatted up the bartender, J.R., who was friendly, knowledgeable and talented, not to mention easy-on-the-eyes. Will definitely be back.
Had a special evening planned for hubby's birthday on our vacation in Las Vegas on November 9/2016 and was horribly disappointed! We bought discount tickets on the squar outside our hotel! It was abput $200 Cdn and not worth half of that! More
I've seen this place many times on trips to Vegas but had never eaten here. What a great find. Service is really good. They ran out of my first choice for the entree and I switched to the barrimundi. The papaya salad was fantastic. Both were amazing.
I'll definitely be back.
Not bad, but pricey for what you get. My martini was tepid, and stirred, not shaken. My soup was warm, not hot.
Had surf and turf roll and clam chowder. Some of the best food I have ever eaten.
food is 3-4 stars. wait staff is poorly trained and so annoying, each time they reach in they interrupt your conversation and say "pardon my reach''. Everyone of them from the drink boy, waitress, kitchen runner. I don't think the staff knows what they are doing they are just doing as they are told so they seem robotic.
also I sat down with my family and the lady suggested the market priced seafood platter because it was the perfect amount for all 3 adults and 1 child. However she didn't mention it was $300
Food taste good prepared well however it is overpriced. A good dinner for two expect to spend $250 with tip and no drinks. However if you just want water, meat and potatoes you might be able to leave with a tab of $150...
It was also amusing how while we were leaving there was 3 slightly taller than normal men with muscular builds in really tight suits that thanked us for our patronage, I felt they were also insincere and looked like bodyguards more than hostesses.....
Great food but awful service. Took over 70 minutes for our food and another 30 to get change from the bill. Staff were friendly and ice cream game was fun, but for the price I expect more prompt service.
I eat downtown Las Vegas a few times a week. This place is fantastic! I'm so happy about the sustainable seafood and the prices are fair for the incredible quality. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. Ashley was our waitress and she was very kind and accommodating. Chef Sean's hot sauces were incredible and everything that came out of the kitchen tasted fabulous. I'm glad I found this place and see myself eating there at least once a month.
Too expensive for small portions. DELICIOUS but overpriced.
First off the sushi rolls had shells in them that cut my mouth. Mistakes happen and I let this slide. The food crippled both me and my wife on our last night in Vegas. We were both stuck in our room sick because of this $100+ meal.
So cut mouth, sick, and missed our last night in Vegas. I regret ever going here.
The business lunch is a must have when you're in need of a quick bite and the clam chowder is FANTASTIC! I had the steakburger with an amazing tiramisu to finish off a great lunch. Thanks Rick!
By far the best meal and best service I have had in Vegas. Wine list was wonderful, portions were very good, and the meal from top to bottom was amazing. Chef Mike and our server Robert honestly cannot be beat. RM Seafood will get a return visit every time we come back to vegas.
I usually write only upbeat reviews.
RM Seafood motivated me to write a horror story review.
We picked this eatery since this was open early enough before the Michael Jackson show, a major bummer; we also love anything labeled as "sustainable," and this was the only Vegas eatery labeling itself as sustainable, a huge mistake. Four of us stayed in Vegas sampling various restaurants. RM Seafood was the only Big No No. Whatever definition of "sustainable," it was nothing akin to it. We were in for a worst dining experience in entire Vegas.
The initial source of the problem was that the tall guy waiter was simply deaf. He did not listen to any of the things we tried quite hard to communicate. We emphatically stressed Low Sodium for all dishes, not once but a few times. The mussel tasted like salted sardine, to exaggerate a bit. The organic veggie salad was so salty smothered with thickening and sickening dressing; it had nothing to do with "sustainable." Four of us plucked up courage to dig into it, but we could not finish a half of it. Same story for the papaya salad. The heavy repulsive overkill dressing and sauces and salt basically sapped the original taste of fresh ingredients, like someone with a grotesque make-up so much so that the real face is unrecognizable. We wondered what the chef learned from the culinary institute. Also, if sustainable, the management should know better not to waste scare natural resources like that. They should notice how customers cannot even finish half of it, resting trashed, squandering precious limited energy, and human and natural resources.
The waiter never even bothered to ask us how we liked food. He seemed to be totally out of it; he seems there physically, but not really there. Instead, someone self-introduced as "manager" guy asked us how we weer doing. We usually let it slide, but this was too much, so we grumbled about it being to salty and all. His response was "Oh!" That's it. It was like shrugging off, saying "Hey, dummy, this is for tourists and transients like you guys. We can't care less." He appeared to be a modest decent guy, but zero follow-up or any action. Even afterwards, our tall waiter guy acted as if nothing happened.
Everybody in my party strongly asked me to write this review.
I give 1 star, merely since oysters and sushi plate was fairly good, although nothing to go back for.
Unless we had awesome experiences at Jardin, Encore, the next morning, JM almost could have entirely ruined our culinary experiences in Vegas leaving an uninviting after-taste. It almost already ruined the fabulous experiences the night before at L'Atlier Robuchon. The price tag was about $400, even more costly than at Robuchon; we paid a hefty price for the very unpleasant moment.
Considering this restaurant is owned by Rick Moonen of Top Chef fame it was very disappointing to eat food the was very average. Definitely not worth the money. I think Rick Moonen needs to come back to his restaurant and sample the food. The best thing on the menu was the dessert - ice cream sampler.
Came for lunch. It was good but could have been great. Had the bento box for lunch. Sushi was nice but nothing very interesting. Best thing about the box was the cucumber salad. Had the key lime pie for desert. Was good but the ratio of crust to key lime to meringue was off. Cilantro sauce was very good.
Very respectful staff, perfectly prepared and delicious food, and located between three of the best hotels in Vegas! Be sure to order the Lobster Roll for lunch!
We came here for lunch the other day. For a place that is so well known for seafood I have to say it was a bit of a disappointment. I had the Mahi tacos which were tiny and the fish was dry. The wife had the lobster poor boy and there was a lot more "salad" than lobster.
Our waiter was heavily in the weeds so we had the manager serving us and he was very nice and helpful.
All in all just not very good food. Maybe we caught them on an off day.
Amazing seafood. Try the sea food tower (or whatever it's called). Lobster was amazing. Also the burger isn't bad either.
This is not a review but why is it that the owner answers only the 5 Star reviews?
I will be eating there tonight and I will see for myself what the 5 Star ratings is all about.
Good food good staff a bit pricey not sure if the price is for the service or the the portion of each plate
This is the best seafood I have ever had. I have been here three times, have shared multiple dishes with friends, and all of them are amazing. I have only sat at the downstairs bar, and the service has been great. I have heard that the upstairs portion of the restaurant is even better than the downstairs. I find it hard to believe.
I have traveled the world and this is some of the best seafood I've ever had. Excellent drinks and dessert too.
The best seafood I've ever had. Go for the Kitchen Sink if you have hungry friends with you.
Only sat at bar but good appetizers and ok beer list
I first dined at RM in 2006; I loved it then and I love it even more now. Great food, atmosphere and location, with a friendly and accommodating staff. I enjoyed the food and fare so much that I ate there twice this past weekend. Fresh fresh fresh is all that I can say for every piece of fish/seafood that I ate. You get what you pay for most times in this world, and I am happy to pay a premium for a great dining experience. I will go back every time I am in Las Vegas!!!!!! Nice work RM!!!
The food was excellent. However, the portions were too small. Additionally, the table setup was extremely bad. We were 2 and had to sit between two groups that were extremely loud. I needed more privacy on the table...
Stopped here for a lunch with 3 of my friends, and found service, food and atmosphere outstanding.
Our server was knowledgable, friendly and efficient. She made some really good recommendations.
I went with seafood pasta and it was amazing. Korean flat iron steak that one of my friends has also looked very good and he gave two thumbs up.
Will be definitely coming back!
Went for happy hour, I double-downed on the "double down". Up there with the best sushi I've ever had, the experience was worth the price.
Way over-priced for mediocre at best food. Their Surf and Turf (Surf?) premium sushi roll was $32 and it was not good. Could eat only four of the six pieces until I couldn't manage to force myself to eat it anymore. The wagyu kobe beef on top was like rubber and the carrots in it gave it a crunch not appealing to this combination. I was excited for their much hyped clam chowder until they put a huge wad of butter into it and it then became butter soup that I also couldn't force myself to finish it. Skip this place. Not worth your money!
Worst experience ever. We go to Las Vegas every year for our anniversary and participate in Restaurant week. That is when you can get a gourmet meal at a deep discount and the proceeds go to feed the hungry children in Vegas. It has been a win-win for us. We get a great meal and help the less fortunate. Not every restaurant participates so you have to pick and choose. We always choose one of the participating restaurants for our very special anniversary dinner. Last summer we chose RM-Rick Moonen Seafood. It was awful! The service was mediocre. For 100.00 for the meal we got skimpy appetizers that were not that tasty and then we got less than adequate salmon and a plate of skirt steak that was on the tough side. Literally nothing on the plate but a few slices of overcooked, tough skirt steak. The ladies next to use ordered a ceasar salad and asked it had been made with anchovies, When told No...they requested a few. Upon receiving the bill they realized they's been charged for the anchovies. They were highly upset and rightly so so cause guess what...one of the main ingredients that makes a ceasar salad a ceasar salad is anchovies! Ridiculous! The whole thing was ridiculous. If you are going to participate in such a worthy cause don't embarrass yourself and your guests by skimping and serving horrendous food. Will never go back...ever. It was the worst anniversary meal hands down. Go to Aureole by Charlie Palmer. Best food, best service! They made a video of us for our anniversary and treated us like royalty. The table side service was over the top fantastic. Avoid RM unless you just like wasting your money
The food here was alright, but it was waaaaay overpriced for what you got. I'm all about appropriate portion sizes but it seemed like this restaurant was taking advantage of the fact that they were serving seafood in Las Vegas and can get away with over charging. If I'm paying 25 dollars for a single 3 ounce crab cake, I expect it to be fantastic... the staff was fine, the interior could use some refreshing. Overall, a decent restaurant but very very expensive.
December 7 2013 for dinner. Rhode Island Calamari was outstanding appetizer with the roasted peppers an excellent addition. Calamari was light, good texture and not overdone or chewy or greasy. Entree was RM Style Cioppino, again excellent balance between ingredients with everything cooked very well. My guest had the Scallops and reported they were the best that she had ever had. Price is upper range, but well worth the cost as such things go in Las Vegas. If you are a seafood lover would highly recommend.
What an extraordinary restaurant! The decor is very nice and the food is outstanding! The food was strategically placed on plates, amazing presentation! The salmon dish and jumbo shrimps were scrumptiously delish! Fresh seafood and flavorful food! Staff were very pleasantly kind and accommodating! A must-try place!
Excellent seafood. Very extensive and creative menu. Really had a great meal. Staff was very accommodating of my kids requests. Fantastic key lime pie
Excellent service and very yummy food. The lobster I had was to die for!
Our server John (aka Banger) was exceptional and he will be the reason we come back to the restaurant next time we are in Vegas. Very friendly and got our attention outside the restaurant while we were looking at the menu board. We go every year and this is now are favorite restaurant.
I do not like writing a terrible review due to terrible customer service at the front desk.
However, the front desk took the position of me being rude when they cancelled my Open Table reservation stating they did not accept online reservations. Interesting how they were able to cancel the online reservation. They also made false statements about my language when they were being rude to everyone looking for a table.
Been there in the past and enjoyed dinner. Too bad a nasty attitude loses you business and negative reviews.
Here for a conference. Food good not great. Good drink options.
Atmosphere was nice enough. Spare rib good not great. Roasted chicken was bland. Expected more for the price point. It was convenient to Micheal jackson one show. Would not recommend.
Excellent service, great food and atmosphere. The Clam Chowder is to die for. And the surf, surf and surf....yummy.
I went twice. Asparagus is the best taste. The steak is also delicious. The rolls are also delicious. Among desserts, there are 16 types of ice cream. The concept is to name the ice cream. There is no gift or gift to match, but it is fun to match the ice cream ingredients with the party you went with. Give them a paper and a pen, so you can try betting together.
we came in with a $25 gift certificate courtesy of our credit card company. the waiter josef spent a great deal of time trying to convince us to buy the most expensive dishes on the menu. after we ordered the oyster six shooter, salad, steak, and chicken, he promptly forgot about us. the appetizers took long to arrive and the entrees took FOREVER. I never expected to wait 1.5 hours to receive our food. the salad was good, but miniscule. the oysters were a joke, two out of the six were the size of a dime.. the steak was good, the chicken was okay though the sauce was too fatty and rich. the table also wobbled and they forgot to fix that until we reminded them three times. maybe the waiter decided since they automatically charged us 20% gratuity that we weren't worth focusing on because other customers around us arrived later and received their food sooner. all in all, I wouldn't recommend this place!
Rick Moonen, this is my first time at one of your restaurants and this met my expectations 100%. The quality and flavor of your food was fantastic and very well priced. Your lunch tasting menu was fantastic. I cannot wait to dine at another of your locations. Sincerely, a food enthusiast from Minnesota!
Great sushi, quick service, it is expensive but the fish us of great quality. We were in a hurry and they made sure we got everything in time. :)
Excellent fresh food, sushi is amazing. My wife and I like to go here when we are in Vegas for a nice night out. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is the price. It's expensive.
The food was good, but not amazing by any means. I had the salmon, and my partner had the short ribs. Both were a little over cooked. For the price point, I would suggest trying one of the many other restaurants nearby.
The tables are a bit uncomfortable, but that takes a back seat with the service of the very attentive staff and the taste of the food is exquisite! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Service was horrible. Server brought husbands entree out before my salad. They forgot my entree. While it is a great location, and beautiful ambiance, this will not be here long. Food was incredibly mediocre and not worth the price.
I can't believe what a sleeper this restaurant is. It often gets left out of the hub bub online about where to eat on the strip. I am psyched to return in 2 weeks. In October I had a meal there that easily topped every other meal I had at restaurants including Twist and Bartolotta. As well as many of the establishments in the cosmopolitan which I'm very fond of (honorable mention to Blue Ribbon). RM seafood has the freshest seafood, the most invented preparations, and over all the best prices considering this is Vegas. Very good wine list with exceptional pricing and a cocktail list that not one single other establishment on the strip can even come close to touching. Very fair deal all around. The food really is something special. Unless you're a simpleton, then you can always just order the mac and cheese. But this place is all about the seafood. So that's what you're going to want to get.
Really, the only reason I came to this restaurant was to try the 16-flavor ice cream tasting dessert, where you're given 16 (sometimes wacky) ice cream flavors and an answer sheet and challenged to guess what each flavor is. That experience was really fun and definitely 5 stars! So I would recommend going for that (and maybe only for that) if it sounds fun to you too.
The rest of the restaurant was just okay. It was very loud and very crowded. The atmosphere was more like a Chili's than an expensive dining option. It was very dark inside, and right off the casino floor. We had some sushi rolls that were good, but nothing I would go back for.
If you are looking for great seafood and steaks and aren't worried about price, this place won't disappoint. Service was good considering the dynamics of our party, great food and drinks were excellent.
Don't let the price scare you, I ate a lot of wonderful, fresh sushi!
Not great. Shrimp cocktail starter was dirty. Sent it back and got the same number back still dirty underneath no explanation. Main course arrived. Had to ask waitress to bring some plates. Better choices nearby.
Great place even on Valentine's Day which is a date notorious for sub-par service/food due to diner density. As appetizers, the Pacific oysters were extremely fresh, and the foie gras was delicious. Our entrees of scallops and roasted octopus were outstanding. Our server was on top of things without being cloying and did not push for the table (even with the full house), allowing us 90 minutes of relaxing dinner time. Prices are commensurate with the quality of the food. Will recommend to all.
The restaurant is very nice and welcoming, the staff is also really friendly and professional. The bar is well stocked. The quality of the fish we had is really good, the mixed platter appetizer is simply phenomenal. The catch of the day was very good and cooked to perfection. I put 3 stars because the price is outside the rules .. $ 100 for the appetizer? We joke with all the fresh fish you want. The catch of the day 50 .. same speech. We are not exactly on the prices, too bad otherwise he would have easily taken 5 stars.
This place is terrible. How does a seafood restaurant run out of seafood on a Friday night? They offered us steak or risotto. The couple at the next table said their steak wasn't good so we didn't try it. We asked to speak to the manager but he didn't bother coming over. We booked this birthday dinner over a week ago and are very disappointed. As we left, the two hosts had choice comment for us. We ll never see you again so we don t care what you think. They are correct. Mandalay Bay should demand better from their restaurants.
The fish was great! Had a chance to sit at the sushi bar and chat with the head chef. Loved the king Crab California roll. Only reason why I didnt give the restaurant 5 stars is because the lunch sushi menu could have offered more options.
Food was overpriced and not very good. $25 for a sushi roll? Perhaps if it was good, but the two rolls (Endless Summer and Spicy King Salmon) we ordered were bland and uninspired. Also had a couple of drinks that were, again, overpriced and uninspired. The chunks of potatoes in the clam chowder were really undercooked (to the point of being crunchy). There are much better places to go in Vegas.
Had dinner here with my daughter, last night. Very impressed with everything from the friendly, attentive service to the delicious food. I told the hostess that I was vegan and by the time we were seated the waiter was already informed of this and offered an option which he confirmed with the chef that could be modified. Being vegan, the chef was able to create a risotto with vegetables without dairy products. It was absolutely awesome! Don't know how he worked his magic to create a dish that tasted sooo good, but he did it! My daughter had Surf and Surf, lobster and shrimp with a cream sauce that she said, was out of this world! She had cheesecake for dessert that was creamy and delicious! The ambiance is very nice and relaxing. Completely enjoyed the dining experience! Will definitely be returning to this restaurant. If I could give ten stars, I would! Thank you, for the great food and service!!
3.5
For the prices being as steep as they were I was expecting a lot more. My jumbo sea scallops were cooked to perfection however my meal was four scallops. My boyfriends filet was not bad but nothing like the steak from Andiamos . My roasted potatoes and the apsparagus were pretty boring.
Our friends said the swordfish was amazing and they were impressed with the oysters as well.
All in all it was a pretty good meal but for the prices I think it should of been exceptional and lacking in value is more appropriate.
Thought this place had great ambience and Service and food was quality. Definitely worth what your going to pay. It's on the higher end on price. Great selection of food items. From land to sea. This is dominantly a seafood place. From Sushi to Oysters to Fish and Crab and Lobster. The Steaks are top notch as well. Great selection of champagne to wines and craft cocktails. I will be returning.
Service - outstanding
Entree Choices - unique
Serving Sizes - satisfying, two entrees would have been enough for two without any sides
Value - maybe a little overpriced, especially since we had to travel the extra distance to Mandalay Bay.
We ordered the Crab Duo, Cioppino Fra Diavolo with a side order of Moonen's Mash. There was more than enough food for two people, especially the Cioppino. The Cioppino was spicy (think Cajun-ish). It was delicious, although more crab meat would have been good.
We weren't too fond of the crab cake from the Crab Duo. It was unusually different from the typical crab cake my daughter enjoys. She thoroughly enjoyed the crab legs.
Don't expect them to be open till 11pm they quit serving before 10:20 pm
Atmosphere was great. The staff was good but the food portions are super small for the price.
Really good food and good value too. Portions are a bit larger than expected. Highly recommend you get the tix4tonight deal that gets you 25% off your food.
Highly recommend the seafood gumbo.
Food (5 stars): One of the best seafood restaurants on the strip, the menu could use more options but their focus is on fresh seasonal.
Drinks: I did not order any of their signature cocktails but their beer selection was decent.
Service (4 stars): The only reason I could not give it 5 stars was because I expected the service to be a bit more attentive.
Atmosphere (4 stars): Modern industrial design with second floor dining and patio dining available although it is all inside the Shoppes.
Went for my son's 7th birthday because he loves seafood. He ordered sushi, I got the special, and my wife got cioppino frame diablo. Long story short my wife emptied the contents of her stomach violently starting at 9 pm. Her and my Son had just flown in and had jet lag. Alcohol had no play. Avoid the shell fish!
