My prenatal experience and care at the Womens Center/ OB/Gyn Riverview and Dr. Pippenger was stellar. Then my experience with Labor and delivery upstairs from them was even better. Excellent nurses and doctors!!!!!

We ve gone through so many ups and downs, but mostly downs, so far while my boyfriend has been a patient here. The specialists that have visited him have told us a variety of different things that don t match what other doctors say (even within their own group) and they keep badgering him about being a heavy drinker and that causing his problems when we have told them AT LEAST ten times that is not the case and when labs and scans show his problems can be explained by other means. It feels like they re trying to insinuate that he s lying to them and it s frustrating to him and the family. The doctors either take forever to get there or they re there early in the morning for two minutes and don t leave room to ask questions, and then just leave without warning. Everyone keeps saying his labs are improving, but he feels just as bad as when he was admitted. The nurses have been very much hit or miss, and they don t keep on top of the pain medicine, which is basically the only treatment, and take quite a long time to get to him when he does desperately need it. We re so frustrated with this hospital and we wish that we would have taken him to St. Vincents instead of here.

Don't go there. They don't have any compassion for people. I have suffering terribly, I am a human reaching out for help, but instead felt like a kick in the face. They do not care or want to help anyone. But they'll but sure to bill enormously for for allowing you to be graced with their presents.

I had to call 911 as I was experiencing horrid back spasms. Unfortunately I had to go to Riverview! I had had a negative experience prior but honestly I just wanted to be seen. Worst thing I could have done. I will NEVER go to the ER there again! The inpatient nurses are excellent but most of the ER staff needs to go! With all these complaints why is nothing changing????

Not a terrible hospital treatment wise. But the staff are extremely rude.I was at the guest entrance blue, the two receptionist were more interested in there crossword puzzles and logging into Facebook then they were helping me. The employees also work with my employer and picking up the phone from them is a nightmare. They're constantly trying to get free stuff or makeup complaints to get their way. I would avoid doing business with them if I could.

I was taken to Riverview Hospital by ambulance aft...

I was taken to Riverview Hospital by ambulance after an automobile accident: I had just entered an intersection where I was "T-Boned" by a car moving at high speed. Riverview was the nearest hospital, so that is where I was taken. What happened subsequently was an emergency room examination with x-rays. The pain in my left shoulder area was excruciating yet the folks taking the x-rays insisted that I lie with my full weight on my left side. Even with my very high pain threshold, no can do. They said I could go home. No, I couldn't. Subsequent to my emergency room examination, after my three or four day Riverview hospitalization, after three weeks of pain and lack of mobility, I went to my rheumatologist who then took his own x-rays and immediately found that I had fractured my left clavicle lengthwise. Even after Riverview took a large number of films and after my three or four day stay, these people couldn't find it. Now, after I went home from my rheumatologist, I checked my Columbia and my Harvard Home Health Encyclopedias, written for laymen, and they clearly stated that trauma to the shoulder by a force from the side of the shoulder could fracture a clavicle. Didn't they know that; how is it that with all their x-rays they couldn't find that?

Friendly atmosphere but incompetent staff management in ER. (Referred to Riverview by my insurance's 24 nurse line.) The NPRN etc. failed to check all I reported to them about my severe pain symptoms. (There more than 3 hrs of test that came back negative) referred me back to my family doctor whom by their report referred to one of my other medical specialist, whom referred me back to my family doctor, whom's trauma nurse referred me back to Riverview's ER whom instructed me to call them if I was still having problems since Sunday now Wednesday was clueless I was even there. While Riverview was trying to figure it out, I called Carmel St. Vincent ER and was told to get there asap! Within a half or less of telling them verbatim of my symptoms as told to Riverview, I was finally correctly diagnosed and now receiving treatment and feeling better already!

I have the best family doctor. I wish she would practice in the St. Vincent Network.

I had fallen and busted my head open and was in alot of pain. I later even experienced a panic attack. The nurse/nurses that were to take care of me had absolutely no bedside manner. I myself am an RN and stated to my husband that I would never treat my patients the way they did to me. No compassion, no "It's ok", NOTHING! I knew that they were not the best but they were the closest. They asked if I had a current Tetanus shot and I said no, never recieved one, I obviously asked for some pain medication, they said I could take some Tylenol, never got any. If you care about your family, please, drive a few miles further and get the care you deserve.

Riverview Hospital is terrible to deal with billing wise.
We've had nothing but issues with their billing department.
And the billing staff always talks to me like I have no common sense.
St. Vincent is much much much easier to deal with.
Very very disappointing.

8/7/2019. The only experience i ve had with Riverview Hospital is through Dr. Jeff Ginther. I attended his seminar on knee and hip joint replacement about 4 years ago. He was energetic, knowledgeable, experienced and passionate about his profession as a surgeon. I wanted an alternative to surgery, so he/we settled on OrthoVisc injections. The treatment has done wonders for the last 3+ years. Now, Riverview, you have let your competent, passionate doctor leave your employ (or did you relieve him of his duties)? I have been unable to verify the reason for his absence. If you relieved him, I fear you made a grave error. Since he is gone, I called his office last week to secure my medical file. I was told someone would call me back in two days. Yesterday afternoon I got the office recording and left a message regarding my file. No one has contacted me to give me any status in obtaining my records. This is not the proper way to treat your patient. How about a phone call to express your care and concern?

This is a clean hospital, staff is okay friendly. No one goes out of their way to greet you or ask if you need help. The signage is lacking helpful information and is misleading at times.

Where is the elevators???? No direction to locate them other than walking around. Some bathrooms are marked with a sign and others are not. It s a gamble if you find anything at all.

We visited on a Saturday; the place was bare and had hardly any people. It was like a ghost hospital.

The eatery or cafeteria is wonderful, the supervisor Chris was amazing. He cooked our food while we waited.

It s the only hospital I seen with a grill you order food off of and it s made on the spot fresh. Prices are cheaper here than eating out at McDonald s or fast food.

The rooms are cozy, ours was private (not shared). The tv is nice with good sound. As of 1:39p on 1/4/2020 we hadn t seen the doctor today. Suppose to be released. Another downfall - no communication among staff.

It s a good place and we have always had amazing results.

One of the worst places to go.... PERIOD. They operate with the mindset that EVERYONE is addicted to pain medication and treat you like you are.
Even if you've been prescribed one by your doctor, if you get admitted.... They REFUSE to give you anything but Tylenol.
My wife who had a kidney transplant and has abdominal pain from the surgery lays in pain suffering because the doctors refuse to give anything for it.
I could be out front hit by a car and I would REFUSE to be treated by Riverview.
Never will my family EVER go there again.

This hospital lacks the most important part of a hospital. PATIENT CARE! When a patient is in pain and waits 20 minutes for a person to answer their call button. Then a minimum of 2 hours to get the pain medicine it makes one very upset. Personally I don't care if it is shift change, lunch break or whatever excuse. It is Not Acceptable!

The main reason the staff is there is to take care of patients. Shouldn't they be tended to in a timely manner. Maybe it is training, maybe you need more nurses on staff.

The staff is so tuned into computers, headsets that are shouting in their ears and there phone ringing that they can't concentrate on the patient they are suppose to be helping. Maybe I would act incompetent if I had all of this going on too.

This hospital pre-surgery and recovery group is fabulous. Once you are taken to your room it is hideous.

Wake up administrators, patient care and communication needs improved.

I can't say enough about the wonderful staff, doctors, and nurses. I felt they all went out of their way for my relative who came in for surgery. The only reason I put a 1 star rating is because 0 stars wasn t available. This is the most unprofessional hospital I ve ever been to. My wife and I were undergoing some vaccinations that required 4 stages of shots and during the 3rd stage I was stuck a dirty needle. They leave needle caps laying around and the staff is incredibly unhelpful. Anytime you call in with questions, you hang up with more questions then you started with. We were told things by multiple people that was incorrect. Unless this is the only hospital available to you, I would HIGHLY recommend going anywhere else!

Scheduled an EEG for my daughter at 7:00am. My wife and daughter arrived at 6:45am. Was told by hospital staff that the appointment "had been moved to 1pm". No apology, no explanation.

I should have learned from prior experience at Riverview to ALWAYS drive a few miles further to get to St. Vincent's or IU Hospital for serious care.

Riverview Hospital is simply not a serious hospital. Their systems are broken from the top down. It's too bad since we live here - but unfortunately our own hospital continues to be an embarrassment locally.

Went in for a dislocated toe they xrayed it and offered no pain killers of any kind and just taped the toes together. I was also given no ice. They told me to go home ice it and do pain meds. My pain level was a 10. I was crying not one empathetic person there. Also recently a racing heart and the first nurse was great the second one was rude and would not answer my questions just responded by do you want it or not! Terrible bed side manner here. Wish another hospital was closer. They need to take to heart what people are saying. They are super expensive.

They charged me over $500 for labwork they'd advertised on their website for $70. Their explanation? The lower price was for walk-in patients without a labwork order from their doctor. Can we pretend I just walked in and didn't have a doctor's order? No. Will I ever go to Riverview for labwork again? No. Labcorp will do the same test for $15.

If your primary care physician is in the Riverview...

If your primary care physician is in the Riverview network and sends you to Riverview hospital for testing DO NOT GO.

ContactThe Customer Service Department and they will send an estimate to you, if you provide the following information:

-A Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code, which can be obtained from your physician.

-The name of the procedure.

-Your name and mailing address.

(This was copied from the very bottom of a Riverview billing FAQ page)

If your primary care physician is in the Riverview network and sends you to Riverview hospital for testing DO NOT GO. Instead please research imaging and testing centers in the area within your network that offer a price comparison. This hospital and network overcharge for their services and will NOT even hint that there may be a more affordable option. I ended up paying hundreds of dollars more for a routine procedure that I could have saved if only a compassionate healthcare professional along the way had cared enough to inform me of any alternative options. Lesson learned!

I had something stuck in my throat. Previously I stopped by a closed clinic across from Arbys and the sign said go to Riverview Hospital. I went to the er at Riverview. Sat there 1 hour, had 1 x ray, but NO ONE even looked at my throat. The PA just came in my room and dismissed me. I said what's in my throat? She said the xray doesn't show anything. I said "You didn't even LOOK at my throat. So she hastily grabs a light on the wall hurries over shines a 1 second light in my throat standing approx. 3 feet away and said there. I've never been treated so rude and unprofessional. I myself was in the nursing field and that is not showing compassion for people.

This place is awful. I really shouldn't have to get into it considering the large amount of people that have given the same rating and shared the horrible things they had to deal with. I'll make it simple. If its not life threatening enough to where you can make it to another place, you should take that opportunity to do so. I'm not saying the staff are terrible people in general, and I'm not saying don't go there. That's your choice, I'm just saying that I refuse to go anymore. Terrible. Service.

I love this hospital. My mom has been having trouble mentally, and has been to Community, St Vincent and IU. Riverview was the ONLY hospital to see that she needed help and was able to get her help the same day!!! I have been so worried but DR. Crittenden and Bob were able to alleviate all of my concerns. Worst hospital ever. At least the emergency room is!! They also miss diagnosed my husband when he broke his hand!!

Riverview is not the place to go if you have a HSA...

Riverview is not the place to go if you have a HSA plan. Their rates are MUCH higher than other hospital affiliations in the area. We tried a new primary care with Riverview when our physician from St. Vincent retired. I couldn't believe it when I received the statement for the visit. We've had a HSA plan for 9 years. Never in that nine years have we paid more than $99 for a primary care visit, and that was for a high level visit or new patient visit. My statement for my new patient visit at Riverview was $201 total. I called the billing department to question this and they were like talking to a brick wall. They had no idea. Come to find out, they obviously don't receive the same insurance adjusted rates as the bigger hospitals in the area. I am so thankful I took it upon myself to find the specialist I was referred to rather than allow them to place me with someone in the Riverview network. I can only imagine how much I would owe them right now. To be honest, I wasn't at all impressed with my care at the physician's office, either. He promised he would get to the bottom of my problem, and then dropped me like a hot potato when he couldn't figure it out. Unfortunately, this is the story of healthcare these days, but there are things you can do to advocate for your own health. Start by not using Riverview Health.

Went to my dr for suspected kidney stones. She did...

Went to my dr for suspected kidney stones. She did an X-ray but in the past my stones never show up on X-ray so she also ordered an ultrasound. They couldn t get me in until the end of the week (not their fault, I had work commitments) but the pain got unbearable and I went into the ER. I was given fluids and offered Torridol which I declined because I had already taken oral Toridol an hour earlier. It wasn t working and it was too soon to give me more. They gave me zofran even though I told them I had taken phenegren an hour earlier and was actually ok with the vomiting at that point (but no big deal other than they did not listen obviously). They took blood and then I just sat there, freezing with no call button (I eventually found it under the bed.) I only went to Riverview because that s my new drs network. I get stones a lot and usually go to St V s. So anyway, I was sitting there for an hour. Usually (at St V s anyway) they take blood and then take you down for CT. So after an hour my nurse (who was awesome by the way.... I can t remember his name though) came in and said my blood work was back and that Natalie (PA) would be in to talk to me about it. (She never did, never saw her again). So I become upset because I m in pain and no one is telling me anything. I had no idea what the plan was. So this other nurse comes in, why I have no idea and was SO rude, and said that I could have IV Tylenol but that is it. It clicked then. They thought I was a drug seeker because I turned down the torridol. When I said that she said We didn t use those terms . I explained to her (in tears) that I have a chronic illness that sometimes requires me to be in pain meds but I can only get pain meds from my dr. If they had given me anything in the ER I would report it to her immediately but that was not why I was there. She had already called in pain meds she was just waiting on test results to ok the fill with the pharmacy. I just wanted the CT so they could get her the results. I wouldn t have cared if they did nothing but the CT. (and I d have liked a blanket, I never got one). So by then I get the nurse manager and she explains to me that they were looking for signs of stones in my urine or blood first because studies show that CTs a increase your risk of cancer . So they like to avoid that. (Well I probably already have cancer then because I have CTs all the time because of my chronic medical condition) I decide I just want to leave and I ll wait until Friday to get my ultrasound. I ve lived through worse. I totally get their approach but it was never communicated to me. I just laid there for an hour not knowing listening to a nurse complain about having to pay her daycare on Christmas Eve even though they were closed. (Get use to it sis, most daycares do that) I told them there was no blood in my urine yet....I KNOW kidney stones and what they do in my body. If there was blood I wouldn t have come because that usually means they re going to pass at any time. They tried to make me sign AMA paperwork, I refused. Then they went and spoke with the PA and she decided to just discharge me. I m upset but I just suck it up and go home. Not an hour later I get a notification in my MyChart app.....the X-ray picked up the kidney stones and an hour later all my kidney stone care package medicine was ready at the pharmacy. I got my water pill, flomax and pain meds and went home. The nurse I had (I wish I remembered his name), the nurse who did my triage and the manager were good and I appreciate them. The PA Natalie and Nasty Nurse were awful. I mean I can t say Natalie was awful I only saw her for 4 minutes tops, but she never came back after my initial consult. They were a little busy, so I get it but it would have been nice for her to check in and talk to me. Never had a good experience in that ER. The Dr that took care of my mom when she died had zero compassion and was not very nice. By all means go have babies at this hospital. It was great (at least it was 10 years ago). But avoid this ER like the plague that it is.

Was brought here from their urgent care for a GI bleed. I was admitted and given an endoscopy that revealed an old bleed by nothing more. Things. Went. Bad. Fast.
I was given Phenergan medication into my JUGULAR VEIN IV SITE. That med isn't not to be pushed into such a site due to being very caustic and sure enough it blows my line and causes burns and swelling. I know that and I am not a doctor or nurse.
I also magically end up with a severe bacterial infection. To which my doc gets the results and asks if I "inject myself with things"...
So can't get worse right? WRONG.
My neck gets worse and worse and no more tests to check for anything inside. I suffer from severe pain and swelling for days. Doctor does nothing to fix that but has no problem telling me that I have to get a new (very expensive med) for my infection!!
Finally getting released and heading straight to a new hospital for help cleaning up this hospitals mess.
You should really heed the advice of the majority and ruuuuuuun.....

This place is very close to my home so when someone has a bad emergency we have had to go there. I have tried many times about 10 over the years and have never received proper care. Everything from meningitis to broken bones they have messed them up. My son had a gushing nose bleed, several in a few days, the urgent care told us to go to the hospital and except to be admitted, instead they cauterized it and sent us home. The next day we found out he had brain swelling from meningitis. We always end up having to going somewhere else to fix things right.
Also they are down right mean and aggressive, uncaring is an understatement. They only let you see a Dr. assistant not an actually a Dr.
A few weeks ago I cut my finger almost off. I was profusely bleeding and was left throwing up and bleeding with my neighbor while they sat and talked in a glass room looking right at us. My elderly neighbor had looking for help and then they came in yelling at me. I'm done. We will always drive to another hospital. They put the blood pressure cuff on the arm with the bleeding making everything worse.. geezz I'm angry thinking about it.
My poor elderly neighbor took me to be helpful and they constantly yelled at her and I. They couldn't stop the bleeding. We never did see any Dr. the entire time.

My 90 year old mother had to have emergency surgery for a twisted bowel. Very serious and complicated for someone half her age. My sister took her from Westfield to Riverview Health in Noblesville. I am from out of town and had asked to take her somewhere else in Indy.
The very best decision we made was to keep her in Riverview Health. The surgeon Dr Heiser was amazing. He treated her quickly explaining every detail before surgery and after. He was patient with our questions, answering them easily, yet professional to the core, letting us know that he was on top of every issue that might occur. His care after the surgery for our mother was compassionate and caring. All of the ICU staff that we interacted with were ALL very professional, yet compassionate and caring. My mother received the best possible care that she could have had , more so that if she had been at a larger hospital, as I have initially requested. Our family was always treated in a kind and helpful manner even in the cafeteria by the staff working there. I cannot say enough about this hospital, Drs, and staff, and therapists. Best encouraging hospital experience that I have had to deal with in many years. They got Mom up and going and she is doing great at home.

I was a patient of Dr Wright with OBGYN specialists. She delivered both of my kids, and I was a patient of hers for almost 6 years. She was wonderful. When she left I met with Dr Trainer, instead of actually hearing my concerns she dismissed pain I was concerned about and sent me to a proctologist. I went through the colonoscopy to find shocking nothing was wrong as I knew it, because the pain I had was not on that end. I got a second opinion with Dr Carter, instead she talked about my weight saying it was squishing my ovaries and how was she supposed to know anything if I hadn't been taking pain medicine at home to see if it got rid of it?... Now that I am really concerned about some issues going on, I was dismissed yet again. I do not recommend the OBGYN specialists at Riverview at all anymore. They should be ashamed to call themselves doctors. Never.again. I will never recommend anyone to that office ever.

The only reason I am giving Riverview hospital 2 s...

The only reason I am giving Riverview hospital 2 stars instead of one is because of the nurses at the check in and check out station. They were thoughtful, nice, and really compassionate. I came to Riverview hospital because the left side of my face was so swollen it looked like a balloon that was about to pop. I waited for about an hour in the waiting room before being taken back to a patient room. After about 40 minutes a man came in to collect my insurance information, I had still not seen a doctor or another nurse at this point. Finally a doctor came in and poked my face with his finger, looked at one of my teeth, and accused me of being a Methamphetamine user. I told him I have never once used Methamphetamine and he got sarcastic with me and made a point to tell me he would be prescribing me antibiotics and not pain medication. I was completely fine with that because pain medication usually makes me sick. What I am not okay with is being judged and accused of being a drug addict when I am seeking medical help. Thanks to this doctor I was embarrassed for even going to the doctor and I would have rather just lived with whatever was happening and hoped that my swollen face fixed itself. I have never been more embarrassed or angry in my life. I understand there is a horrible opioid epidemic plaguing our country but assuming anyone who seeks medical help just wants drugs is a terrible way to combat this epidemic and has left me speechless and fearing ever having to go back to an emergency room. After reading other reviews for this hospital it sounds like this is a normal thing for them. I hope Riverview can resolve this reaccuring problem and I hope no other person seeking medical attention will be made to feel how I felt walking out of that place.

I have never been treated in such a rude and aggressive manner. I was handled very roughly after open heart surgery. I have never been manhandled by hospital staff in such a manner before. I feel like I have been hit by a bus and my left hand has been numb since surgery but no one seems to care. Wish I would Have went to St. Vincent.

ER & CT SCAN DEPARTMENTS:

ER & CT SCAN DEPARTMENTS:
I was taken to the ER in Oct 2012, the ER doctors are gentle and caring, compared to the EMTs who took me in their ambulance. My ER nurses were attentive too. I was re-admitted days later due to severe dehydration, the doctors and nurses were sweet and patient, the facilities were OUTSTANDING, and I was just very well taken care of for 2 straight days and night staying with them. The only issue I had was they had difficulty drawing blood from me, since I was so severely dehydrated, so they had to attempt a few times.

PHYSICAL THERAPY DEPT (another center):
I was also referred to their physical therapist, Carolyn, at their fitness center months later due to complications in my pregnancy. I LOVE my physical therapist, she made sure that I was on task, always made me feel welcome and comfortable. Plus she was really humourous too...

MATERNITY DEPT:
In fact, they are so awesome, I'm going to have my child with them this coming August. I absolutely ADORE my OBGYN, Polly Trainor, who's experienced and assuring. Amanda, my nurse was great.

They are all highly trained professionals, and I will always go to them for any medical services I need :)

Leave this network if you can. I have excellent (today's standard) medical insurance, but it isn't enough to cover the cost of services in this network. Riverview Health has a much higher than average cost than IU Health. I went to a local in-network doctor for whom is affiliated with Riverview Health, for a chest cold and the cost amounted to $1,600 out of pocket. The bills are still trickling in. This was for maybe an hour of actual work. Don't see anyone in this network unless you are on your deathbed. The billing department is the worst. I almost had to hire an attorney to make them recognize that I had insurance and to adjust the bill accordingly. I have been told by other family members who are not as fortunate as I am that setting up payment arrangements is a farce as they nonetheless send the bill to collections automatically unless full payment is made immediately. I typically do not write reviews on anyone unless it is for good work, but this is the exception. This is also not the first time I have been severely billed for minor medical treatment unduly. Not to mention, ever since I moved to this location, I've heard nothing but negative reviews of this network. I turn the cheek often, ignore what may be aggressive negative people giving bad reviews, but enough is enough, this is my warning to the community, do your homework, find a different network within your insurance parameters, drive further if you have too; so that when you do receive medical services you'll know that you are paying a more fair cost.

Went into ER for bad stomach pain. Had CT the day before and was told to come back if the pain and vomiting gets worse. Went back in today and the staff was very nice but the Dr. said he didn't know what to do for me. With the CT showing a small blockage in my stomach he should have done another CT to make sure I didn't have a fully blocked intestinal track but no other test were done and I was told to go home deal with the pain and call my family Dr. on Monday. Now talking to a PA and a MD after the visit I was told he should have ran tests and did another CT and helped with the pain. Nothing but nausea meds were givin and I was sent home with no meds or advise on how to get to feeling better. This is not the first time I've been here and sent home with no info. I went to IU North and am now scheduled for surgery because my intestines could rupture and I could die. This hospital is a joke and I'd rather die then go to them again.

I don't know how I had such an amazing experience after reading some of these.
I don't know what they had wrong but I do know me.
I was there for the entire week.I have never been treated better. The staff, very caring kind, compassionate.and above all else always totally professional.
My team of care givers from respiratory therapy were amazing through treatments.teaching techniques to make for after care easier.Guidance with many suggestions.
My team of physicians came daily, made exams explained every matter at length, and follow up appointments for after care.
The housekeepers came daily.mopped changed trash, freash linens, towels, gowns, check on personal toiletries, nothing left undone.
The meals was just like hotel room service on call at your pace and your special needs if any.
Always delivered promptly with caring smiling happy staff.always waiting to make sure you received everything.also if you forget to order a particular item that was ordered for you, they so ill ask if you're cancelling the order or did you leave it off accidently.wow....
There's absolutely nothing short of lacking in my stay.I cannot say enough about the staff here.Totally 100% off the chart.
Keep up the good work. From one who was scared to even stop there because of the negative reviews,to one who's committed to this one for life.
Again can't thank each of you enough.

I went to Riverview for a routine pap smear. I was declining extra tests as the doctor had his hand in my vagina and they were still run. After insurance, my bill came out to $500 for a pap. At the time I was a 23 year old, full time, unpaid medical intern and didn't have $500 for a routine annual test. I spoke with the financial department multiple times and multiple times was told that it was a misunderstanding and I didn't have to pay. Then A YEAR LATER I get a letter saying they had sent me to collections and my credit score had dropped. I will never go back to this hospital or any doctors affiliated with it.

My son fractured his ankle very badly playing football. We took him to Riverview where he was treated in the ER and they gave him pain meds immediately and since it was badly fractured and dislocated, they stabilized it and he had surgery by Dr. Sexton and was taken care of very well. Six months later he danced at his wedding. : )

Two of our three children were born here. Great experience with both. Billing department needs some scrutiny. I asked for an itemized bill and found two separate charges for two separate I.V. sticks and subsequent meds. The problem is there was only one actual I.V. stick. When I asked the billing department about it, they replied "Oh yeah, that is standard. Don't worry, your insurance covers all of it."

Had a motorcycle wreck, total incompetent, uncaring staff, had to clean my wounds myself, I'm not kidding either! Refused to stitch my wounds, or put on artificial skin! You're just interrupting their gossiping/internet time. My dghtr in law was there and is a full time nurse, and even she could not believe it! Was told by the Dr. That other injuries could appear later that I might not feel now, and if they did to call back for more meds if needed. I called back and without even so much as looking at my records, the ER nurse pretty much told me I was an addict , even though I have not been in hospt in years and don't even take any meds at all!! I was totally shocked!

Very disappointed. This is the second bad experience. The first was a charge of a few hundred dollars for test not covered under routine insurance coverage but never informed that these test were not routine and would probably result in a charge. Fast forward 2 years later and received a bill for $689.31 from Riverview Health and $150 from Northwest Radiology. This was because after the annual mammogram. The next day an urgent call was received explaining that I needed to return immediately because they saw something on the mammogram. When I returned and the additional diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds were performed and they immediately verified everything was ok. The technician mentioned that the initial mammogram was "unclear" and why they wanted to do further diagnostics. It is unfortunate that as a patient the impression was giving on the follow-up call that this was something urgent and didn t explain that the initial mammogram was unclear but no reason for alarm. Just as they had the ability to review immediately on the second visit. They have the ability to QC on the initial visit. Additionally, as a patient they should have informed that this additional mammograms would not be covered by most insurance. As well as the fact that I receive mammograms yearly instead of every 3 years which would give them a point of reference. This was either a way to get more money or a problem with the initial mammogram which should have be covered as a mistake of the hospital. Despite several phone calls to the billing department the account was sent to collections. I wish I could as a business owner make a mistake and then charge my customers for the mistakes.

If given the choice, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Everyone was always professional, considerate and friendly. When you don't feel good it obviously adds stress, but they always made me feel I was the most important patient they had. The nursing staff was especially attentive. I couldn't have asked for better care no matter what shift was on duty.
