Here we go.. 6 days we lasted.

Here we go.. 6 days we lasted.

Me, my partner and sister were wrongfully accused for stealing money from someone who we considered family and got fired for it. Their reason for it was because my partner was in the area where it was taken from but there were 20 other people in the area also. Steve fryell is a good person that made a poor decision, he let's anyone smoke marijuana at the accommodation as long as it isn't inside work hours, he asked everyone else if they had taken the wallet and simply moved on. When he asked us if we had taken the wallet you could tell he had already believed in his head that it was us, he said he wasn't pointing fingers as to who it was but you could tell he thought it was us. So this morning on 23.03.18 we were called into the office to "plead our case" (Steve fryells words) but it was nothing like that, as soon as we sat down we were fired.

Other than that I quite enjoyed working beside riverlock pickers, they are an awesome bunch of people who are caring and look out for every single person out there. They treat you like family.

Hope nothing like this happens to anyone else.

Riverlock pulled off a bad move. Hired 100 people,...

Riverlock pulled off a bad move. Hired 100 people, the job started 1,5 weeks after promised start. We worked here for 1,5 weeks and today they fired three crews (56 people) because they don't need us anymore.
The job offer said there would be work for 6-8 weeks, we waited in opitiki 2,5 weeks without working.
That's why the job was a big loss for every person stayed here because the cost for accomodation and food was bigger than the salary.
Don't feel secure about your status.

Seriously not recommending!

Seriously not recommending!
We waited for nearly 3 weeks for the job to start even though the ad on backpackersboard said it would start on the 1th instead of the actual starting date which was the 17th. So far so good, but after not even two weeks they fired ~55 from the ~75 people they hired, including me. Probably anyone but the ones who stayed in the accommodation they provide. You cannot tell me that they wouldn't know how many people they need, guess they just wanted to assure that they have enough. It would have just been fair to tell us that we could only work for 2 weeks or so instead of leaving us in the believe that that we could stay as long as we want to.

If you wanna spend more money in the time that you're waiting or now looking for a new job, just go to Riverlock.

Cheers!

Thanks for nothing.

Thanks for nothing.
First of all we waited for nearly 3 weeks for the job to start. When we went to the health and saftey induction training they told us that we could work for 2,6 or 8 weeks, whatever suits us best. There was definitely not the case. One and a half week in, they suddenly told us that they dont need us anymore. They left over 50 people behind unemployed. I thought that it is just fair to share our experience with people who think about getting a job at Riverlocks.
