River Oaks Country Club Review

Lovely mansions and awesome Christmas decorations and lights.

It's the stereotypical country club. Nothing really remarkable.

We went to go see the Christmas lights at River Oaks for the first time this year. After years of listening to the hype, honestly, I don't know what the fuss is about. It was overrated and left me disappointed. The mansions however, were beautiful.

Recommended to spend a very pleasant day killing El estressss !!!

Dined with some friends here recently and it was exceptional. I didn't get a chance to play any golf, but the course looked immaculate.

Great club that has become very busy. The wine room is wonderful for a casual meeting

Beautiful place the club itself is amazing the people are aswell.

Wonderful friendly helpful staff. Food is delicious. A lot better than many clubs like this.

Lots of beautiful lights but the weather was cooler than we wanted. The drive through the area was the best we could do to enjoy the Christmas lights.

Grand and glorious as suspected. Wonderful expansive view from the main ballroom. They insist on parking your car for large events. Plan on at least a 10 minute wait to leave.

I went to see the light and Christmas decorations because I heard it was I most do, and it's beautiful, every house looks different and it make you feel the Christmas spirit like in the movies.

Love coming here every year for the Clay Court Championship! They update it every year and this past one was the best yet! The overhaul of the entire event was amazing! Sad that the championship falls on Easter this year so we will not be able to attend. The one thing that needs updating are the stands. They are very tight and not comfortable at all; hardly any leg room.

It was nice. Beautiful grounds. Standard country club decor. Waitstaff seemed miserable.

I love going in April to the US men's clay Court championships. One of the best places to see pro tennis because you are simply feet away from the players

Love it here! So many fond memories of golf tournaments, weddings, parties, etc. Great place! :)

Yup, when its time to relax & kick the heels up. Order the T- Bone steak with the lobster tail glass of Merlot its like home.

Great place to have a wedding or to play tennis. Need membership or to be accompanied by member.

I attended a fundraising luncheon here today and was quite impressed with the Country Club's ability to handle a very large influx of guests (valet), excellent service, and excellent food.

Great club and one of the best in Houston. Nice staff and atmosphere.

The people at this place were to damn snobby and look down on others i hope they know that river oaks has gone down hill

I worked for river oaks country club in the beginning of 2020 amid coronavirus pandemic and i can honestly say working here was a struggle for many reasons. I will admid that it is a very professional looking establishment, but very corrupt in it's own ways. I dont recommend visiting nor do i recommend giving them any business.

Had a amazing time with my friends at Halloween party

One of the most Prestigious locations for large events. Centrally located in the River Oaks area which is one of the wealthiest parts of Houston. I was impressed by the quality of the food considering our party was 200+.

Lights at Christmas are magical! But try to park off San Felipe and walk up & down River Oaks Blvd. Trying to drive Lazy Lane/Del Monte/Inwood not the best idea!

There are times I work here and they are very fair and friendly in their treatment of the employee and the clients very nice people.

Great food but the steak still had marks from where the jockey hit it.I threw money at the band to get music lessons and step up the tempo

Attended a charity gala here and the venue was gorgeous.

Beautiful grounds and building, one of the best country clubs in the entire U.S. I have been there as a guest for dinner- always excellent, even with large scale dinners, events- again excellent or for the clay court championships- again perfectly well organized. If you ever get an invite go. Membership is highly sought after with a multiyear waiting list and 6 figure initiation fees.

Took grandchildren to see christmas lights. Always beautifully done.

Had a blast here with my son and my niece. We seen all the Christmas lights they had up, it was definitely a site to see. We will be returning next year. :)

What's to say? It's River Oaks! Excess is apparently best.

As an X employee . feel they are unfare.
with there employees. playing favorites. , with those. that kiss a....A lot. Some of the members are, super nice. others. rude, and obnoxious..Just like some of the, management..very few English speaking employees...Hard to communicate with. members, And other's..would never recomend , any one to work there...Bad news..very , discriminatory, in many ways...
