My father was there for rehab after his stay in the hospital. Everyone on the staff was fantastic! It s wonderful to see such caring, compassionate, and friendly faces. I highly recommend River Garden Hebrew Home to anyone of any faith. Our family is Christian and Dad had a small Christmas tree in his room during his stay. When it was time to discharge him, the staff had a group conference over the phone with the family so that we could transition him back to his retirement home. Those kinds of details are what sets River Garden above all the rest.

River Garden is an exemplary institution in the field of health care for the elderly. Unless you want a thesis paper, that is all I need to say.

Under the direction of Martin Goetz, River Garden has received numerous awards recognizing their commitment to excellence as the best in patient and resident attention and safety. For many years River Garden Received Florida Governor s Gold Seal Award designed to reward those facilities with exceptionally high standards. I have personally experienced their elite care and attention to detail.

Thank you for the great care you took of my father back in 2007. I am considering a second try at rehab with your facility for my husband (you didn't have a 10 ltr oxygen concentrator on hand for him to use and he had to go back to hospital, but we want to try again

My ailing father landed at RG. I don't recall how or why, but I do remember distinctly their efforts to get rid of him. I use this language consciously. My father's social security and any funds I could provide did not meet the level of income required by RG. OK, I get that, but instead of addressing this issue directly, they dishonestly suggested that my father would be comfortable elsewhere, and attempted to dump him. An ombudsman helped us out. Although the next facility was not nearly as "elegant" as RG, it provided competent care. My father died with dignity, as befitted a WWII veteran. We were able to donate his organs to worthy causes.
As I contemplate my own mortality, I have stated in my advance directives that I wish to avoid at all costs any facility where residents are esteemed according to their ability to pay. I understand that advanced-care facilities are not charities. Personally, I would rather end up on the street than endure the humiliation that RG subjected upon my family.

Excellent care and facility, well staffed unlike most similar facilities. Take great care of the patients in rehab and nursing home. Does not look "institutional" like some many of these places. Facility is spotless and we'll well maintained.

This is by far, the best rehab and nursing home facility I have seen in Florida, certainly number one in Jacksonville.

Outstanding facility with exceptional care for my mother. Many may get 'frustrated' with how particular the staff is about key rules and expectations. Frankly, this is what I believe makes River Garden outstanding in what they do. The administration takes great pride in the staff and the care for its resident. Staff is incredibly accommodating to each individual and genuinely cares about each individual resident's health and welfare. Planning care for an elderly parent is in no ways 'easy' for the family. I would strongly urge any caregiver caring for an elderly parent to reach out to River Garden for information and guidance to see if the facility would be a good fit.
