5 stars for the bar staff alone!! We met an amazing local, Josh, who came in just to visit these guys. Then we never left his side the rest of the night, so you know these people are special!

Excellent Food -- Attentive Service -- Great Lake Vistas

My title encapsulates the place -- spectacular, comfortable, clean, with delicious food (high quality ingredients to begin with), and attentive service. One star is missing because the side salad (replacing the french fries that come with the hamburger) while delicious, was too small. I wanted to order another small salad, but was served and charged for a full size one.

Nice lake view patio. Free breadsticks with sun-dried tomato hummus. There famous alcoholic beverage "Wet Woody" is pretty good and every drink you take just gets stronger (Wet Woody Wednesdays the drinks are discounted $5). I ordered the "Grilled Australian Lamb Chops" it came with asparagus, mashed potatoes and a blueberry sauce. The "Grilled Australian Lamb Chop" was so delicious I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars only wish I had maybe 1 or two more Lamb Chops on the plate for being $49. My wife ordered the "Roasted Mary's Chicken" it came with half of a whole chicken, lemon yogurt marinade, winter vegetables, roasted garlic and whipped potatoes. Flavor wise she gives it a 7 out 10 saying she can make it at home. Being $37.99 it is worth the price for how much food you get. Hope this helps!

Very cool place right on Lake Tahoe. They have signature frozen rum drinks called Wet Woody's. Upscale restaurant but casual with indoor and outdoor dining. Good food and beautiful view with a beach area that you can walk out to after dinner to enjoy the view. I found it to be a bit over priced but it's Lake Tahoe.. Plan to spend a couple hours for dinner.

Best french onion soup I've ever had! Drinks were awesome. The service could've been better. Our waiter forgot to put in our food order but I believe he was having an off day. Besides that everything was wonderful

Riva Grill is a must if you re in South Lake Tahoe!.
As you see in my posted pictures this is a view you get if you go to this nice restaurant. You see the lake from the restaurant and you can go closer as you see I got closer to the lake to take a picture.
The chicken wings with the homemade sauce was delicious!!!!!! I loved it and enjoyed my meal there. Highly recommend coming here with your spouse & family.

Have only eaten here once and our food was just so so. You're really paying for the view - which in my opinion isn't the best.
The restaurant is 2 stories, and they have an outside deck that isn't currently in use.
But they have great people working there and good ambience during lunch time. The food IMO was somewhat lacking.

Scallop Ceviche - was on special today. I would give the dish 2 out of 5 stars. It was bland while the chips they served with it overly salted. They charged maybe $17 for it. But I will say it's a large serving - looked like maybe 1.5 cups almost 2.

French Onion Soup - 5/5. It's the best thing I had from their menu today. I love French onion soup and I have a hard time finding one I like. This one has great flavor, onions are caramelized just right and it has a good amount of cheese.

Dungeness crab sandwich - 3/5, BASIC. The crab meat was seasoned okay but it looked like something I would make at home. Not pay $27 for and get at a nice restaurant.

Me and my family went for some lunch here, we didn't make any reservations here but just walked in and the people who work there were so nice they sneaked us in and got us a table there, love there food and there cocktail was amazing as well

We ve gone to Rivas for years, it s been hot and cold on both food and service but we always go back as the environment is great on the water. Last Sunday we decided to go again, and found the food quality was very very good. All of us enjoyed both lunch and cocktails.

To add, our server was very friendly, had great suggestions, but there was a lack of flow. Second round drinks were late, dirty dishes left behind, no refills on water after asking, just not a smooth service operation, and it was not busy.

The price we pay at this iconic eatery in Tahoe, the service should both be awesome. It was not. 3.5
