Ritmo Flamenco Reviews

I've been taking Flamenco classes at Ritmo Flamenco by Valerie Scannura for only a few months, but I've learned so many basics and even a dance routine. Valerie is a gifted teacher with an eye for extreme detail and she balances the classes with a good combination of work and stretching to train efficiently without straining. The classes are often accompanied by live guitar by Roger Scannura which gives a real authentic experience of Flamenco dance culture. It's fun too!!!

Great flamenco atmosphere. Guitarists,dancers of all ages and levels all lovers of flamenco.

This school deserves 10 if not more, stars for its review. I came across Valerie and Roger after dong a fair amount of research on what is, hands down, the BEST Flamenco school in the GTA. Valerie's incredible knowledge and impeccable ability to passionately and patiently transfer it onto her students, while her husband Roger plays live authentic Flamenco guitar, is something to be admired and a dance experience that will leave you wanting to be in their studio on a daily basis!
Side note, Roger Scannura's incredible music can be found on Spotify, do your ears and soul a favour and go have a listen and then follow him. It's no surprise that he also happens to be an astute professor of music, who's classes have a waiting list of well over 300 students each year.
I cannot say enough about Ritmo Flamenco and their owners, Valerie, Roger and daughter Anjelica<3 they are blessings in my life!

Amazing dancers and musicians, highly professional teacher with a National Ballet School degree, unique choreography, very warm and welcoming atmosphere and just fun - that's Ritmo Flamenco! I came to the studio 4 years ago with zero experience in any dance form and now I actually can dance and every week can't wait till my next class to learn more.

Ritmo Flamenco reminds me of Spain. Authentic atmosphere, excellent teachers and of course, mi amigo Roger stays true to his art form. The Scannura family is very talented!

I have been a student of Valerie and Anjelica for many years. When I first walked into Ritmo Studios, I had no dance training and could barely walk in heels, let alone dance! Now I dance many hours a week, have performed several of my own choreographies on some great stages in Toronto, and have even accumulated invaluable teaching experience. All because of this wonderful school.

If you have the desire to learn, and enthusiasm to work hard and listen, you can become your best dancing self!

Classes are tailored in real time to the needs of each class. Individual corrections are expanded and modified for each student as the classes progress.

Technique is taught based on Valerie's wealth of dance training and teaching experience. An emphasis on injury prevention is always a priority. Even things such as performance skills are shared. Students have the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre every year.

If you are thinking of taking a dance class, choose this school! Invest in your passion for dance!

Valerie Scannura is a very patient and dedicated teacher. She is committed to bringing out every student s inner dancer . She is very dedicated to the flamenco art form. She always pushes herself creatively to find a good balance of tradition and innovation when she choreographs pieces for our annual student show. It is also a great complement to our learning experience that Roger Scannura plays live Flamenco guitar to accompany us.
