This lodge is very nice, you have to get through a difficult trail road to get there but it's worth the effort. The rooms are great with a nice view on the valley and some wine to welcome you. Beds' mastresses are actually awesome, I've never slept better in South Africa than here and the bathroom is huge. The place is really nice with a lot of trees and green parts. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, very comprehensive and interesting too. Both dinner and breakfast are great with reasonable prices. The morning cooking options were quite breathtaking with actually African food, a first for a breakfast here! As usually, I've a specific mention for the paper straws which is an important topic to me (there are also other visible efforts about ecology). At last, you don't have TV in the room, instead you have a proposal of books which I find particularly original and amazing.

Such a gorgeous place! Stunning views and atmosphere, peace and quiet, kind staff, the rooms (we have a garden view) - well equipped and so beautiful. We laughed a lot at the humour in the info booklet we found in the room. Diverse and delicious menu. This place truly does have it all!

Very pretty setting in a very well maintained park but the access is very difficult by car or on foot because the path is full of ruts. The rooms
are from another time with an obsolete decoration

A beautiful, large and spacious lodge. Excellent food, great, varied breakfast buffet, everything was beautifully presented, nice rooms, decorated with attention to detail. The best choice as a starting point for Kruger National Park and Panorama Route (Blyde Canyon). Absolutely recommendable!

I was in RSA April /May to spend my 70th birthday with friends. We came to Rissington Inn for a 3 night stay, mainly because of its nearness to KNP. What a lovely place, beautiful accommodation in a tranquil setting. The owner Chris Harvie was very much hands on and very friendly. My only complaint Chis, was that I never did get my resident gecko!!!!! Lots of mozzie bites, but par for the course, I can stand in a crowd and the one local mozzie would find me! Back home now with fond memories.

I have just stayed at the Rissington with my husband, for the second time. As ever, it was the most relaxing and enjoyable experience; the service is excellent but unobtrusive, the staff are brilliant. No place better, we look forward to the next time.

We booked for 2 nights through our agency:
1st booth arrival:
First of all, the larger booked superior room is already allocated elsewhere - but this is not communicated to us - instead with an "upgrade" us a supposedly better because larger room offered. Haken: The shower is in the open, "protected" by a wall at belly button height overlooking the large garden, which is also visited by many other guests ...
That being said, it's winter in SA right now, and with outdoor temperatures around 13 degrees in the morning, an outdoor shower is more for "hard-boiled" ...
The agreement negotiated with the help of our agency - a night in a tiny superior room and a day later change to the freed up larger superior room - we assume, especially since the receptionist promises the manager for a "compensation" in the form of a dinner or at least a bottle of wine. As of now (9:42 pm) neither the one nor the other has been offered.
In addition, a lack of "on the Internet" TV in this room, the "reception water" is in a disgusting decanter and the toilet is broken (continuous running of the water).
Furthermore, the impression of the room is:
It looks unclean and run-down, the "reception flowers" are long since withered.
We are looking forward to the "silent" change of the room tomorrow during our day trip ....

2 day
The night before we were eating out, probably for this reason, no further contact on the part of the management.

Superb experience....location, setting, hospitality, service cuisine, amenities, decor....Spent seven nights at the Rissington. Plan to return for another extended break in the not too distant future. Stop clicking around and book....you ll be pleased you did.

One of my favourite stops in hazyview. Offers great accommodation and good for long stays. Is within the gateway of Kruger National Park and other tourist attraction in the lowveld. The restaurant has good meals to choose from and has a bar with beers & wines to choose from. You have to try the West Africa Sweet Potato & Peanut Soup

A very nice venue with great dining also offering vegan options. Most visitors spend their days at Kruger National Park. Clean and large rooms with outdoor showers, courteous and attentive staff. Highly recommended.
