Food a 10 out of 10. Service much faster than the size of the staff lead me to believe. Will definitely be back!
Food a 10 out of 10. Service much faster than the size of the staff lead me to believe. Will definitely be back!
Delicious!!!! My husband and I got the applewood bacon Egg, and cheese biscuit, tater tots, strawberry biscuit and cinnamon pecan biscuit roll. OMG!!!!! Small take-out joint, definitely worth the stop.
Tasty little selection of brunch items. Don't know why Google keeps rejecting my suggestion for hours, I've taken photos of the sign, and talked to staff, the hours ARE 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 7 days a week. Trust me.
OMG the creme brulee donut - incredible! Small menu, good biscuits, decent fried boneless chicken. Very small place and the line takes awhile to move. Also, they do not take cash.
This is a good place to grab a quick breakfast that is prepared fresh. The sandwiches I have tried have all been good and you can actually watch them make the biscuits from scratch. I really like that the biscuits are big and filling. My favorite is definitely the chicken biscuit because unlike some places the chicken patty is large. There have been a few times I've gone in and had to tell them they were out of coffee but that being said, the coffee is good. The doughnuts and pastry biscuits are really good as well and also freshly prepared.
Food was really yummy. Their gravy is delicious and the sweet potato biscuit is amazing! Will be going again. Probably will order online and pick up tho, as it was kind of busy.
Look at that beautiful maple bacon donut and you will know all you need to know
Everyone is going crazy over Popeyes chicken sandwiches, when they should be going crazy for these guys. This place has the best chicken sandwiches I've ever tasted. Keep up the good work!
50% chance you'll get a nice soft biscuit. 50% chance you'll b served a burnt biscuit. 100% long wait. 65% chance they'll give you the wrong order. They made my sandwiches but I had to wait 12 minutes for blueberry biscuits. Ssoo. I went home with cold breakfast sandwiches but warm blueberry biscuits. Not satisfied my lady 3 visits. I've struck out.
Huge disappointment. Went to Rise in Durham and fell in love with the chicken on a biscuit. The day I visited this location in Columbia MD everything was wrong. The wait was long, even for a busy Saturday. They gave me all the wrong food - no doughnut, extra chicken sandwich etcetera. And the food was over cooked - biscuit was dry, chicken was tough. Based on my NC experience, I will probably try again.
As an employee I feel we as an Columbia MD needed a place with this style and nee breath of life for a very long time and it's about time.
So slow .. the orders are never right and it takes forever for people to get food! Definitely need more people.!
The place is hoppin and the biscuits are poppin! What a turn out for their opening! They are keeping their cool and attentive, polite and just down right friendly! We had an eclectic order but loved every bite. These are some great biscuits n gravy! The creme brulee too! Welcome to Columbia Rise!
This place is great! Flavorful chicken, well seasoned fries, and cheddar biscuits! Worth a try if you haven't tried it yet.
Serve is slow and inaccurate. It isn t worth waiting 30 minutes for one biscuit (and they still got the order wrong). This is a pattern that has happened several times. This place has lost me as a customer.
Absolutely phenomenal and absolutely above and beyond!
The biscuits are definitely the best in the area hands. They have great chicken sandwiches and the advacdo toast is amazing on that biscuit. The gravy is Abit weak in flavor and the tots are decent but overpriced in my opinion. Still great food overall. Maybe I'll try the donuts next time
This is a strange place. Very limited seating inside, awkward set up for waiting for food. Orders take way too long to come out. I ordered a sandwich that was supposed to come on a sweet potato biscuit but was put on regular biscuit. Tasty but rather disappointing. Maybe order takeout and arrive an hour later.
I was very excited to try this place, but very disappointed. I tried the chicken on a cheese biscuit. The biscuit was very large and overwhelming for the chicken. I found it dry and not very flavorful. The chicken was soggy and not very tasty. We also ordered cheesy tots. We got 4 of them in an order. Not much for the cost. And all it was was a bit of cheese in a tater tot. I didn't even bother to finish my sandwich. It was also a bit disorganized as to where to even stand to order, and how to order (both a person and a computer). Not worth it to go.
Great food but horrible service. We ordered and waited for our food and watched about 5 people order and receive theirs. When I went to the counter to ask where my food was I received no explanation. Instead I had to wait another 6 min and then the employee came back and said she called my name but I didn't come to the window. I told her I had been sitting there the whole time waiting for my name and she proceeded to argue with me and said it was my fault. Probably never coming back unfortunately.
The food and service were amazing. Their honey chicken sandwich is bomb! Highly recommend!
Placed an online order for pickup. Once at the store is was a bit of pandemonium. No idea where to pickup order. Eventually was able to get help but then was only given half of order. Manager had to eventually get involved to sort it out. By the time I got home everything was cold and disappointing
Very pleased with our first visit. I got the chicken biscuit and ham biscuit...both were amazing. My kids gave the donuts thumbs up. My wife liked her avocado biscuit. Place was surprisingly well for having just opened. Only down side is that seating is very limited - 4 outside tables and a few stools inside. We got a table, but a lot of people were sitting on the curb eating.
Awesome staff, great atmosphere, and the comfort food is so great.
The food is good. I only get 2 things from here )Cheddar biscuit with egg and a plain blueberry biscuit.) I give them 3 stars because every single time I've been there, I never get my complete order or it's wrong. I use their self service terminal where it's just like ordering online. How is my order always incomplete or wrong? I'm not too nitpick with the time...especially if my order is correct. But my order is never correct. This time I was given a plain biscuit with bacon, egg and cheese. (I don't eat pork.)
The food was really good, the staff was very friendly and personable and helpful!
Amazing donuts and biscuits. Don't miss the cheddar potatoes - they're amazing!
Good food but they forgot the biscuit in my order today. During another visit, everything I ordered was a big shaken up mess with gravy spilling out of the box. Getting a bit more disappointed in the service every time I visit.
I've been enjoying getting food from here on weekends when other places just aren't open. other places don't serve what you get here either, it's well worth a try.
The staff has been friendly each time, the business clean with a transparent layout, and the food tastes great and is well-priced.
Really good food, low prices, quick service, lot to choose from on the menu
Great food, and the biscuits live up to the hype. I had the sausage and biscuits gravy today. It looks like an open faced sausage and biscuit sandwich with gravy on the bottom, however it was delicious. Their maple and bacon donut was tasty as well . The items are well priced for the quality of food you get . However be prepared for the wait. Even if you order online , you ll still be waiting. It may be because I go during the weekend . Would come back again though .
Loved the food, BUT barely any seating and you WILL stand for quite a bit as you wait with all of the others. Man they need to have more seating. You'll see.
Outstanding biscuit place in Columbia right across the street from the Wegmans. Service is fantastic. Very efficient. Food is terrific. I had biscuit with egg, sausage and cheese. All have multiple meatless options. Donuts are really sweet (be prepared). Coffee is great. Highly recommended!!!
Who doesn't like biscuits and donuts! Nice to have something different in Columbia!
Super easy location with convenient parking. Outside tables for eating al fresco if you want. Fairly simple menu with very delicious food. Their biscuits and chicken are amazing. The wait for my food order was 15 minutes which isn't bad considering how busy it was. The maple bacon doughnuts are killer as well as the apple fritters. This is Not a fast food joint. The food is much better than that. Very reasonable prices. Eat here.
Amazing Southern faire... Love it! The ordering system is a little cumbersome but the good and service definitely made for an awesome lunch
I love biscuit-forward cuisine and was stoked to try Rise, but was sorely disappointed. The biscuits are dry, the chicken is dry, and the food isn t hot enough to melt the cheese. I have to recommend skipping it.
I had the belly up. Blandest gravy I've ever had. May go back and try something else.
Wasn't impressed, the biscuit egg and bacon sandwich was just ok, this establishment is not roomy, more of a grab and go!
Amazing biscuits, delicious chicken and wonderful friendly staff. I only wished they were opening past 2 everyday.
While the food is very good here, the service we recieved was terrible. We chose outdoor seating, but nobody called our name to notify us our order was ready, so our food was lukewarm on arrival. Mediocre experience.
Very good biscuit sandwiches, fresh made. I love the self order kiosks.
Friendly staff and good service. Very limited indoor seating. There are a few spots for outdoor dining. I can see seating as a problem when they are busy or if there is bad weather. The food was okay. I had the Belly Up and I thought the pork belly was a little bland. My daughter enjoyed the Avocado Toast. I'm willing to give them another try with a different meal.
I had a incredible experience for my first time visiting in Lutherville. Staff was courteous and food was Amazing! I tried creme brulee donut. It did not have much creme first few bites. The manager insisted on having staff make me a fresh one. Outstanding!!!!! The southern biscuit was the best I've ever had! 5 stars!! Highly recommend!!
Trash customer service. Such a rude manager. I understand it s busy but there s no need to be rude. It isn t my fault your under staffed.
I've been waiting to come here since it opened. The place is clean, organized and the employees are all very friendly and happy. As this was my first time, I decided to try a couple of different things. I got the Righteous Chicken sandwich with . The chicken was fresh, hot and delicious! Honestly, between the biscuit and the chicken, they could give Chick-fil-A a run for their money. I'll definitely be returning and recommending!
Very good food for such an unsuspecting establishment. I appreciate the kiosks for people that may want to just order without all the interaction. I d give it 5 stars but the staff was off putting. I walk in to an empty business and nobody greeted me, I m staring at the menu for an extended amount of time and nobody offered to tell me how their menu worked for ordering (it s very stepwise and a la carte).
I had high expectations. Alas, this is a place trying to compete in the $10 fast-casual lunch space in Columbia some tough competition here that disappointed on several levels. First, it's pricey. The base chicken biscuit is $5.65. A biscuit, tater tots and a coke sets you back $9.59. Okay, fine. If it is really good, that's not gonna be a problem. My gold standard for a chicken biscuit is Chick Fil A. Conservative politics aside, the appeal of a Chick Fil A biscuit is undeniable. Rise's version, while a little bigger (and much pricier) does not come close to Chick Fil A's gold standard. Second, the cheddar-tater tots. For $1.94, you get ... *4* tots. I thought that was a mistake, but looking at the other reviews, that is standard. They are a little bigger than standard tater tots, but not much. But 50 cents a tot? Seriously? Third, the ordering experience. There was a small staff there, and the one register manned by a human was unoccupied. So I went to the self-order kiosk. Fine, no problem. When I went to pay, it prompted me for a tip. Mind you, this is for counter service (order and pickup) and I wasn't even interacting with a human. A machine, at a pricey fast-casual place, with no human present, asking for a tip felt a little grabby. Fourth, after I pay, it wants my email. Um, no. But there is no opt-out button. Now this feels *really* grabby. Yes, I am sure you would like to harvest all of our emails, Rise. But, just no. I had to ask the human cashier at the other register to cancel it out from her register. Fifth, seating. There is a total of seven indoor seats at this place. So if it is cold, or inclement weather, you are probably out of luck. There are four outdoor tables, when the weather is nice, that appears to be shared by two or three other restaurants. The food was good, not great. Again, the signature item was not as good as Chick Fil A, which is literally three mins away by car. And for the same price as a chicken biscuit here, I can get a ridiculously good grilled pork bahn mi sub at Pho La Cay about 100 yards away. Apples to oranges, sure. But you are competing at this price point. And honestly, Rise is not really in the game.
Highly recommended! It's the little things that make or break a place like this. The food is excellent. The service was top notch, and the overall look and feel is modern, but it still has feeling. Since, it was my first time trying the place, I had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. I was beyond impressed! Nothing tasted processed, and the people preparing the food actually looked like they cared about what they were doing. Haven't tried the donuts yet, but they look really good! I'm looking forward to trying everything the have to offer, and you should too!
The food was good, but the place and staff seemed unorganized. I ordered the spicy chicken on a potato roll and got a biscuit instead. The chicken was heavily salted and quite crunchy but still decent. The jalapenos and boom boom sauce were pretty good. Also got a side of cheesy tots. This included 4 tots that had a crispy shell and a very mushy inside. Won't order those again but might consider trying something else
Friendly staff and delicious food. I'm not a vegetarian but I tried the tree hugger. Delicious.
Loved going to their location down in Carrboro where I'm from and was OVER THE MOON when I saw they'd opened a Maryland location. I drive half an hour each way for these biscuits.
Wasn't sure what all the hype was especially being from New York City, but something about fresh baked biscuits and fried chicken makes me happy.
DoorDash brought me this spectacular fried green tomato & egg biscuit for breakfast today. OMG, it was amazing!!!
Really nice location overall, very clean and organized. The customer service was also great. Unfortunately the food was not worth the price. I got the Hammy Yammy, and the aged ham was so salty that it was inedible. The cinnamon rolls were served cold and hard.
Biscuit with fried green tomato and pimento cheese was probably the yummiest thing I ate anywhere this year. So good.
I love the food from here. However, it is not a well managed business. They have run out of donuts every time I have visited. Today, I ordered online and did not receive any donuts upon arrival and part of my order had to be refunded. My sisters entire order of donuts had to be refunded. We spoke with the manager about this issue and only received excuses that his staff were kids and he couldn't leave the register to make more donuts. We received no vouchers or compensation for the inconvenience of driving there and not having our order fulfilled which we had already paid for. Very disappointed with this business.
I ve been here three times. Twice when it s busy. Busy is a line of 5-6 customers. The food is good but the service is inefficient. Being 5th in line means a 15-20 minute wait just to order. Then, another 10-15 minute wait for food. I like the concept, but don t come here if you have anywhere you need to be. Oh, and the one time I didn t have to wait, they were out of ham. So, there s that.
This place has handmade amazing donuts, and an apple fritter that will punch you in the mouth! The coffee is dark, strong, and tasty! You should definitely get yourself a chicken biscuit and enjoy the day with Rise.
Ordering ahead does absolutely nothing because your order will not be ready when you arrive at the specified time. Workers wearing masks not covering their noses. Nope, never again.
Met a friend here for lunch. The food was good, but not special. The kiosk challenged a number of customers. There's a closer location near my usual route, I'll see how it compares.
Slow service. Decided to do the kiosk to put my own order in, get to the point to pay and it REQUIRED me to put in my e-mail address. Nope. I ask the clerk how to bypass. You can't. You have to type in a fake e-mail address to put your order in. Bye.
Can't argue with quality and value. Deeeeelicious buttermilk biscuit + gravy. Fluffy and well flavored biscuit. And green onions in the gravy? Yes. Egg fried to perfection (they'll make it runny for you too) and chicken was crisp and on point. Top that with a pillowy donut that's just sweet enough, I'm very happy.
20 people in this small area. They had no system for online pickup. I am 15 minutes past my scheduled pick up time and no end in sight. Rise needs to get their act together
Tried it for the first time....and feel in love. Staff was very kind and the food was prepared quickly
Good biscuts. Have a self cashier which was a neat idea and keeps the lines down!
Be prepared for a long wait that is 100% worth it, the food and value for money is amazing!! Wouldn't be surprised if the prices increased from southern prices to Columbia prices, but for the meantime, I will certainly be frequenting this place.
An amazing little shoe that specializes in amazing biscuits that are to die for! The wait was a bit on the long side, BUT OH SO WORTH IT!
This place is delicious. The ordering system makes everything move every fast and the food gets done quickly. Their biscuits are amazingly fluffy. The donuts are also delicious. I cannot wait to go back and try more things.
I ordered a pick up order and waited almost 30 minutes before heading to the store. Upon arrival, I noticed a long line, so I walked over the the pickup counter. I told an employee that I was picking up an order I placed DoorDash. They seemed confused, but after a few exchanges, they were able to figure it out. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes for my food, on top of the 30 minutes I gave before showing up, and I could not have been more disappointed. Two of the donuts had been replaced, without my knowledge or consent, the chicken was overcooked, and the biscuits were a disgrace. The icing on the cake was an eggshell we found baked into one of our cheddar biscuits. So unacceptable. What a waste of time and money.
Great little breakfast sandwich shop. The food was excellent, best biscuits I have had. Comfort food at its finest. We will be back.
Easy to order and relatively quick service. Biscuit is very fresh and warm and delicious!
Egg, cheese and Pork Belly biscuit sandwich was very good.
AMAZING. HOLY COW. The proportions were huge, the price was perfect, and they gave us free caramelized donuts with our order! Everything we had was cooked perfectly. Try this place asap.
Consistently gets orders wrong and is borderline unprofessional with customers. Would not recommend.
Your standard chain of Rise Biscuits and doughnuts. Delicious breakfast and biscuits. I haven't found a good biscuit place to beat this one in the DMV area since I moved up north.
The service here is terrible. Who ever manages this place does not know how to run an efficient business. There s no where to sit. Do not plan on fast service here. The only way to get your order is to complain to them enough. I would avoid this place and go to Chick Fil A around the corner.
We have been to this location previously. However, I suppose after covid, this latest trip will probably be our last. The service was atrocious. I guess people were calling in orders but not picking them up but they continued to fill orders over the phone neglecting those in the store. Then, people were using racial slurs in front of my children.
Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
They have soft biscuit sandwiches. It's a great place to get a quick brunch. I wanted more cheesy tots though!!!!! You definitely need to order TWO servings of tots. Also if you have a big appetite you will need to order TWO sandwiches.
As you can see my bacon is nearly burnt and I ended up taking the bottom biscuit off and flipping it upside down to eat because it was so hard and not worth the calories. I have been here 4 times (you can't judge a place off one visit with one/two items). My verdict is: DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. None of their items are things you cant make at home for cheaper and better. Honestly, McD is better and more worth the money (if you sub the powdered egg for an egg round). The service is always superb but you dont go here for service, you go for good food.
Service leaves much to be desired. The food isn't bad though. If the owner is reading these ratings please understand ..this was my first visit i stood at the counter for 5 minutes and no one from the back spoke to me. Then what seemed to be a manager came and stood beside me (stocking drinks) and didn't say a word. I figured out that I could order from The Kiosk finally placed an order. Steal the manual from Chik fil A and study it!
Great food but poor management. The new girl is nice but the other staff always have a problem.
Excellent place to have a different kind of breakfast but I was disappointed that they have no hot tea.
They messed up my order, and the chicken tenders I got were no bigger than the size of a chicken nugget from a major fast food chain.
