Durham Catering Company Review

Throughout the course of this past year, I have worked with Durham Catering on numerous events! Their staff is always courteous and accommodating. The owner, Tom, is a world and national traveler and has great ideas for all kinds of food. The staff is unique and they always wear smiles on their faces. The food is always a crowd-pleaser and their attention to detail is magnificent.

I recently planned a reception celebrating a colleague's retirement. Durham Catering was a dream to work with every step of the way. Even though I had to tweak and make changes approximately 89 times, they were professional, helpful, and kind. Not to mention, the food and execution were FLAWLESS. I would recommend to anyone I know and honestly I wish I could go back to the reception and enjoy the food one more time!

This company is incredible! Please patronize them. I don't have any personal connection to them, but they are so kind and generous and they cook delicious food! One week I ordered a standard weekly meal instead of a vegetarian one without realizing it, and when I emailed to ask whether they delivered the wrong meal or I had made a mistake, they brought me a set of vegetarian meals the next day--even though the mistake was mine--and refused to let me pay for them. Aside from phenomenal customer service, the food they cook is so, so good; I would very happily eat it everyday, always. Love them!

Let us take a second to RAVE about our wedding caterer- Durham Catering Co. We couldn t be happier with the results! After exploring a couple of catering options in the triangle area, we ended up choosing Durham Catering Co because of the exceptional customer service and communication throughout the process. Alison did a fantastic job of helping us understand all of the associated costs, and the tasting was both fun and informative for us selecting the perfect menu for our guests. As for the day of, everything went off without a hitch- the staff set up all of our linens and place settings, made sure there was snacks and drinks ready when we arrived with our wedding party, set up a refreshment station for the band, and kept us on time throughout the night. The mini beef wellingtons were delicious hors d oeuvres, and the braised short ribs and crab cakes were both exceptional main dishes (barely any filler in the crab cakes!) Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caterer in the triangle area.

Durham Catering Company catered my son's rehearsal dinner at the Kings Daughters Inn in Durham. It was a plated dinner for 89 guests -- at every step along the way, their experience, professionalism, and attention to detail made the whole experience a pleasure. Their Executive Chef, Jake Miles, was involved from the beginning, and he and his staff delivered delicious entrees. They were able to source wild-caught King Salmon, and Chef Miles prepared it perfectly. We received countless compliments from the guests. Highest recommendations!

We were lucky enough to have Durham Catering cater our September 22nd wedding (reception was at the Doris Duke Center of the Duke Gardens). From our very first meeting straight through our wedding, we experienced the utmost professionalism and excitement for our day. Even before the wedding they went above and beyond as we had a little trouble with scheduling a rehearsal dinner, but Jennifer put calls out and tried to help us find a new space even though they would not be catering. It was simply a pleasure dealing with individuals who care deeply about seeing their clients happy. They had obviously worked the Doris Duke Center many times before and so had a very good understanding of what the space could accommodate. They worked with us to do a more "informal" southern-themed dinner that encouraged guests to mingle and dance. The food was excellent and they packed us a few plates so we didn't have to worry about sneaking away from our guests to find time to eat! We also had food allergy and restriction concerns and everyone was accommodating and very thoughtful. Both Tom & Jennifer were a joy to work with and we could not have asked for better service or a more beautiful wedding. We highly recommend working with Durham Catering for any event!

I love this company! Recently I called them at the last minute in need of some catering for a very, very small gathering; which they quickly accommodated. Being as desperate as I was, I figured I shouldn't expect full service, but I was wrong. They delivered and set-up (making me look great with my guests); and of course the food was a big hit! And, when my life gets crazy, which is often, I rely on their Kitchen Table dinners for the fantastic meals, and the convenience; which also happen to make great gifts for friends and clients. Durham Catering is a Durham institution, that really understands their audience by delivering top line products and services --- which is why they get all of my catering business! Try them, you'll love them too!

They kept the process simple and straightforward, they were always available if we had questions and were quick to respond, and they clearly strived to provide us with excellent customer service.

On top of that, the food was absolutely amazing. And cooking delicious food for that many people is no small feat. Believe us, we're foodies and our family and friends had high expectations given our food obsession. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We continue to receive praise on our menu from our friends and family.
