I have worked in long term care for 40+ years as a nurse, marketing and executive director. For 10 of those years I worked for Ridge Care at 2 locations. Their first priority was making sure the residents were cared for with respect and dignity. Ridge Care ran the company with the upmost Integrity. I would not hesitate recommending them to a family looking for placement of a loved one.

Would not recommend this place to work or put your parents in. No one cares for the residents or each other. Drama. No one checks on their patients. It s like pulling teeth to get people to make sure their patients aren t sitting in dirty diapers. Was thinking about moving to a different place within the company, but someone said it was worse there. Idk how it could be worse then where I am but maybe it is. If you love your parent, put them somewhere else.

They don't really care about patients. All they care is money. If don't got the money to pay their expensive services, better look elsewhere. The staff, nurses and the doctors are all trained to discriminate patients based on status.

We had a bad experience with Ridge Care. My dear old mom of 92 years had been completely independent until a small stroke altered her ability to care for herself. The quality and skill level of their caregivers have been more than lacking. Many of the CNAS are not showing up and do not know how to handle or have the skills to provide service for their parents. I would recommend choosing a different service to care for your elderly relative, as I feel this company is not trustworthy and reliable.

If you are considering Ridge Care s Horizons Memory Care at Arbor Landing in Hampstead, NC for your loved one PLEASE READ. Horizons kicked my mother out at the end of her life and under hospice care because she could not stand, pivot, or assist with a transfer. She was in such bad shape the only place that would take her was a nursing home one hour away from the closest relative. She died 16 days later. We were told numerous times this is an age in place facility and she could stay there until the end of her life. This was a lie. Arbor Landing s Horizon Care is a one person assist facility with no equipment to move people who forget how to walk or are in such bad shape they can t. Their on-call nurse can come in anytime and deem their care level has changed and kick them out. They are also protected by NC regulation laws. Please look elsewhere for your loved one. Many memory care facilities have two person assist and have the equipment and desire to help dementia and Alzheimer s residents all the way through to the end. 70% of dementia patients lose their ability to walk so please do not let this happen to your loved one. Moving my mom was the most difficult experience of my life as it was hard on her and contributed to her quick decline and death. On moving day we had to physically move our mom ourselves and no one from Horizons helped or said a word. Not even goodbye. Just shameful.

I don't know why this company still exists after a lot of employees leave in wave due to poor management and unreasonable expectations. I remember the time when I was working with them, there's constant stress and drama due to unbearable workloads. Communication with the management is a real struggle because the only favor selected individuals. Moreover, they produce an unhealthy competitive environment resulting in toxic workplace and lack of overall employee satisfaction.
