I really like Rich Mix, I've come here to the cinema and for comedy nights and they seem to be really trying to be part of the community. I came for a lovely meal once where they got everyone to bring a dish and it just fosters a nice sense of community spirit. I like that and am very supportive of what they do

A very friendly place of varied arts, different cultures, cinemas, music, dance, open mike, Jawdance. Dash cafe. 2 small exhibition spaces.

Its basic, but alot comes from the heart, so surroundings are secondary.

Has been getting a bit too popular lately.
Perhaps I shouldnt be writing this or I wont get in!

Also an Indian Restaurant connected in the same building.
I have only tried once & 4/5. So Ill try again.
From St Pauls or Liverpool st, 388 & 8 buses (which go past Bethnal Green Tube, zone 2)

Turn Left outof Richmix, cross rd & you're @ Brick Lane & 2 Bagel, Beigel, Biegel shops! For some reason I always prefer the 2nd one.
The Trendy bizi one is mayb misleading.
The cakes are amazing in older looking shop & thers such variety of bagel fillings.
I like the pickled herrings, not over sweet.

One very BAD point tho-they use polysterene cups (dont know about othr shop)
I hav explaind, made from oil & chemicals leach into hot food & drink, 500-1000yrs to rot (if evr) little recycling.
Why is it allowed for food?
I did see see a little fish & chip shop ? nr bus stop, lookd interesting & original.
Rather out on a tangent here.

Good cinema, comfy seats and tickets better price than at the major cinemas! Nice to have an arts venue servicing the local community. They run lots of other events here too, which seem varied and frequent.
Go here for your films - forget odeon and vue!

You can find cheap tickets. But the seat rows are too close to each other, the sound system not amazing and at the end of the night there isn't anyone to turn on the lights or open the exits so people end up falling at the stairs inside a dark room.

Excellent cultural programme. I have been their for South African music concerts, to architectural planning presentation and debates, and lots more. The cinema is good, make sure you queue in time for your popcorn if you're wanting to get some, but otherwise seats and screens are cosy, medium sized cinemas (think they vary), but I enjoy going there. Usually have the latest showing.

The place looked deserted and dingy from the outside. However it's a hub for off beat performances. I went for stand up comedy show called ' Arabs are not funny'. The show was extremely good and the place was quite big too. They let you take outside food and drinks inside.

A not-for-profit cinema and cultural events venue, well-maintained and brimming with cross-cultural introductions. It s worth popping in to pick up the relevant flyers for your interest as their sheer volume of content can be overwhelmingly maximal for the uninitiated. The bar is basic but well-stocked.

Rich Mix really have no clue what they are doing. They advertise for the same employment positions every 2 months because the marketing and management team don't know how to do their jobs.

More than your local cinema

More than your local cinema

Yes. It definitely is ! A strong cornerstone of culture in the area hosting independent artist markets and spoken word nights. Love.
