I don't normally like giving bad reviews, but after living on the outskirts of Gresham (closer to Fairview), I thought for sure my daughter would get a good education. From the day we registered our daughter, the admin. who registered us and treated us with nothing but a condescending tone left a first impression of what this school might be like. It's been nothing BUT DRAMA since we moved here. It's going to be a dead giveaway who this is (as my name is attached) but my daughter was bullied a student took her $180 ipod, plus phone case (around a $200 value) and completely smashed it to pieces and absolutely nothing was done about it. My daughter asked the person "handling" this situation if they took care of it and nothing was done. Sure, it's not going to get replaced but at least have to decency to punish the children who are taking someones hard earned money and pissing all over it. Nothing but bullying, and drama at the school of future felons. Anxiously anticipating for this school year to be over so we can live in Washington county. Closer to work, and I am confident that our daughter will get a much more quality education than we do here on the east side. I'd give it zero stars if we could.

Let me start off by saying that I don't HATE this ...

Let me start off by saying that I don't HATE this school. In fact, it has some good aspects. For example, the library is well stocked and managed, some teachers genuinely care for their students, the after-school programs were fun, and charity drives were abundant. That being said, the bad overtakes the good by far, depressingly so, and here s why.

One big downside is that you never feel safe. Schools shouldn't feel like a warzone but going to RMS every day felt like just that. You clamber into the bus, anxiously waiting to be dropped off into the enemy territory, gripping your textbook like a gun, and are flung into a plethora of aggressive children looking for any reason at all to attack you verbally or physically. This feeling of hostility continues for the entire day, especially in the cafeteria all the way until you leave, battered and broken to continue the cycle the next day until you go crazy and are mercifully pulled out from the battle.

The teachers are another problem. As another user on here said, you can tell that the teachers hate their jobs. I had a teacher personally tell me that they couldn't manage so many disruptive, loud students at once so they instead decide to ignore most problems because they get paid whether the students do well or not. This leads the teachers to favor high achieving, advanced students and don t bother with anyone else. They will completely ignore bullying in plain sight because it s just that much of a regular occurrence and too much of a hassle to deal with. That isn't to say that ALL teachers don't care for their students because some do but they are unfortunately a minority and are stepped all over by students because they are seen as soft. One teacher in particular that genuinely cared for her students had her trust betrayed constantly by the students who kept stealing her stuff when she wasn t looking. Every student clearly saw this happening, including me, but did not speak up for fear of retaliation. This brings me to the next point: the students.

I've noticed that a lot of reviews here blame the students and it's true that some people are just douchebags but for the most part the student's behavior is a product of their environment. A lot of students that went to RMS came from impoverished, lower class families, (many of them homeless) leading to the students becoming very frustrated and aggressive because of their home life or lack thereof. This then leads to the school having a much higher amount of bullying, fights, drug incidents, and even gang activity than a regular school should ever have. This is the kind of stuff you would expect to see older high school students do, not twelve-year-olds who have just barely learned what the word puberty means.

Although this may seem like a minor thing to write about, I have to mention that the food is awful, Absolutely disgusting. I have heard the food best described as cardboard dipped in glue. A large portion of the students decide to bring food from home instead of having to suffer through the stuff they give you. This is unfortunate because the lunch workers are some the nicest adults you will find in the school. They are even known to pay for your lunch if you forgot or don t have lunch money. Good on you lunch workers.

Again, I do not HATE this school, but it has many problems (mostly) due to the useless teachers. The government needs to take a good look at what is going on in this school and do something about it soon, otherwise I fear the situation will only get worse. These students deserve better.

So many bullies there. That always pick on someone different everyday. Including me. 6th, 7th & 8th graders always pick on me. I can't wait to be out of this school. Im going to 7th grade next next and i bet people are still going to be the same way to other students. The halls are always crowded and people are always late to class. The food is iffy but okay. (FYI: The pizza is the worst) so some days i don't even eat lunch. This school is the worst I've been to.

This school district sucks. They have taken away basketball to make way for track. Really... What are you gonna do for the young black men at your school that want to play and have some pride representing there. Your disgrace for doing so.

Could be so much better. So, so much better. Unfortunately, a lot of teachers in this school really... shouldn't be teachers. They either go too fast or don't seem like they know what they're doing. And some classes have teachers who are just so boring that nobody is interested and they don't learn properly. While the district is so diverse, there are so many nasty people here. Especially Reynolds High is so crowded, granted they're doing construction now, I'm not sure how much it will help. So many students are failing (even when a D is passing. A freaking D) and obviously show disinterest in their classes and they don't even try. I'm sorry, Reynolds, but you can do a lot better than this.

Davis Elementary school has the some of the worst teacher's and principal right now!!!!!

I have the most kind hearted, friend. Who's also a excellent mother, and who happily takes good care of her children. And, despite. The behavior challenges, of one. My dear friend, Children our currently students at Davis Elementary School. Recently, I was talking to my friend, and she sounded frazzled and upset. Saying how the Teacher's and the principal at Davis Elementary are very impatient, when working with her regarding child with behavior challenges. The mother who has been working even harder with her child, the school, and everyone else to get her child behavior to progress. The child has it hard making friends & it's not always her fault when fights happen. The child mentioned to the mother about feeling treated unfairly when dishing out disciplinary actions. Saying some of the children also involved get lighter or no discipline. Just my child with the behavior challenges and who could possibly have a hypertension disorder. My friend Further, mentioned that the school is failing to work with the child instead, showing little, to no compassion or support for the mother's and her struggles getting the on track. She "frustratedly" told me in stead, They recently started prowling on the mother personal life, and questioning the child about their home situation. Prior to a unexpected investigation. I personally know for fact this mother should be the last mother to investigate. Herself, Children, household, and lifestyle are from a culturally, diverse background. A woman of color, who's also a single mother, with beautiful Hispanic and black children. Very lovely family, and it displeases me that she's going through this. The teacher's and the principal have disregarded the equity in this women situation... This is not a school for children with behavior issues or a school to be trusted. My friend child could be suffering from common learning disabilities. I mean it's so much i can say... About the decorum of the teacher's and principal condescending manner. I hope this reaches the right ones attention. Its not right and i am going do my best to support my friend through all this...I am also a mother with a child with behavior challenges, who also go see's a behavior counsel for help. Being a member of the community with little resources or help, a single mother, too. I know it's not easy. So, to All parents beware before trusting this school with your children.... Sincerely a concerns member of the community and Mother.....
