Friendly and cool, a selection of very classy cocktails and some craft ales. We at sat the bar and had pakoras as a snack which were outstandingly good - a seriously good interpretation of the ubiquitous snack.
Wasn t even sure they served then had the best tikka of my life. Slurp.

ACE place! Bartenders are like your friends you call up to cause mischief with & won't ditch you to flirt with stuffy finance bros. They customized one of their specialty drinks for me based on flavors I wanted and minus flavors I didn't. They kept the bar area cooking while being in tune enough for me to ask for my tab via eye contact.
Great place to go with friends or to meet new ones! A bit spendy-but their quality cozy vibrant friendly atmosphere is MUCH more valuable than any cheap drink.

You must try their chops and their flatbread, omgeee -- the best. They have a very good selection of alcohol and their happy hour is actually really great.
They are usually open the latest and they are also open during random holidays. Thank god.

Unique cocktails right next to campus. Not many other bars serve such spicy drinks or combines them with unique bar foods.
After a lovely time at Jupiter a server recommended this little gem. What a great selection of cocktails in a cute small place steps from the campus. Expect a crowd. The happy hour menu is creative. I celebrated my heritage with the Dutch courage. A combination of a shot of Jenever and a pint. Yumm.

Good drinks, korma, and atmosphere (3/5 green stars)
I ve been three or four times and each experience has been pretty good. Upstairs is nice, although it can get loud if you re next to a large group. Staff members are friendly and although it s a more drink-centered place their food is also good. The veggie korma is my favorite thing to get I think $13 is actually pretty reasonable considering that it comes with rice and naan, making it big enough to share. I ve had a few kormas around Berkeley (Flavors of India, Mount Everest) and the EBSC is up there with them.
I m also giving them 3/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons:
They have some local beers better than importing from India.
About 1/3rd of the menu is vegetarian.

My late night go-to solo and with friends for the best ambiance, bar music, cocktails, and indian barfood in the area. Always solid, attentive friendly bartenders and service. Not too loud and not too quiet, can hold a decent conversation, cozy place for a date and close friends. The fireside chaat cocktail is my favorite. Truly a gem and always a good night.

This place is incredible. It has the most amazing cocktails. They incorporate blended spice mixes into their cocktails and made it work really well. Also their samosas are Trader Joe s frozen samosas qualitiy. I m Indian and they remind me of the samosas that I ve eaten in the streets of New Delhi. Btw don t go to New Delhi. Straight up one of the toughest places to travel. It s like 44 degrees (Celsius!) and the smog literally increases your chances of lung cancer it s awful. There s also so many people there it s suffocating. Try riding on a bus it will make you appreciate the space you find in America.
Anyways the cocktails are great like I said earlier.

Amazing!!! I would give the good more stars if I could. We had the prawn flatbread and chicken masala. Both were delicious. So much so we ordered some flatbread to go. The waitress was amazing also, making suggestions and making us feel welcome.
Bangin service, great cocktail menu, but if you want them to shine, pick the bartender's choice and give them some flavors or booze you want to be the base of your cocktail and let the bartenders run wild with creativity. You won't be disappointed. :)
Had an order of the Saag Paneer (~$8): spinach cooked with mild cheese cubes and hot spices. Also had an order of the Tikka Masala (~$9): sauce made of homemade yogurt and spices with protein. Food was delicious, staff was tattooed, and the ambiance was eye-opening.
Best kind of cocktails made in Berkeley. Good wine selection as well. The bartenders are artists, they are consistent with making quality cocktails. Be kind and tip them well if you come here.

We ordered our food, two Chicken Tikka Masalas, late Saturday night when it was only slightly busy. The bartender confirmed the food should be ready in no longer than 15 minutes, and that we could sit upstairs. Half an hour later, after seeing two parties who arrived well after us receive their food, we notified the waitress that we were still waiting. It took another 20 minutes before our food arrived.
Saving grace: food wasn't bad, but not worth the price. Save your time and appetite and try somewhere else.
A great place for tasty, original cocktails and good food. The chicken tikka masala pizza is the ideal drunken bar food. Seating is fairly limited, but they've added more outside, which has helped.

Fantastic exotic cocktails and a different sort of bar snacks. Only draw back is that it can be slow if there are a few other people because the drinks take a long time to make.
The chicken tikka grilled plate is great. It's a lot of food and served with naan and very filling. The drinks are lovely too. The place is a bit too loud for my taste - loud music that's not conducive to conversation. Also the crowd skews very young - college students and twenty somethings. Still it's a nice stop if you're going to events nearby.
I have yet to actually eat here but I have seen many of the plates and they all look and smell amazing. My review is mostly about their drinks. They serve very atypical drinks, all of which are very unique. Be careful because some of them are legitimately spicy... All drinks are nicely garnished. They use fresh ingredients, fresh squeezed juice, etc. They don't offer any drinks that require traditional mixers, energy drinks, etc., which actually kind of bummed me out. While I like their atmosphere and what they're doing with the place I don't know that it's exactly my style. I'm leaving a good review but personally I feel like they try a bit too hard to fancy up their drinks, which to me makes them taste bizarre. If you're into that sort of thing then go check this place out lol.

Great cocktails and the servers are all super friendly. We got a free pizza because some other table didn't want it and it was incredibly delicious. Really lovely atmosphere.

Killer cocktails, good vibe even for a couple of old drinkers like us.
I had high hopes but they fell flat. When we walked in, the bartender was yelling (quietly) at the cook. The restroom was disgusting and the chiken tikka masala didn't taste 'right', something was definitely wrong with it. The only thing I Can say is that the drinks that were being made looked and sounded fantastic. I still won't return though.

Terrible, they put chicken on a vegetarian dish. Messed up the order as the waiter was attempting to do it by memory and then gave us a bill without service, but demanded service on the final bill resulting in one person's card being charged all service.

This was easily my favorite spot to grab a cocktail while living in Berkeley. Sometimes, they'd even pour me an extra if it took too long to make a cocktail. We always enjoyed the ambiance and the low key atmosphere that provided a nice getaway from the frenetic energy in DT Berkeley.
