Little bit alternative, very nice terrace at the water

We had a delicious meal and felt like islanders (TS) for an islander on your beautiful Borneo island.

Very relaxed and chill atmosphere. We ordered several dishes as tapas to try a bit of everything and The food was delicious.

I was really a fan and I recommended The Ocean to everyone. However, that was more than a year ago. I was really disappointed last night. My first two choices, the burger and chicken, were on. I really didn't like the vegetarian burger that I chose at the time. I found the menu scanty and missed the super tasty sausages. The service was uninterested and very customer unfriendly.
A real shame about this super fun concept ..

Cracking wee place. Everyone is so nice and it has a real family feel. The beer is delicious, I will be going back next time to try the food.

Down to earth as it should be. Great food and drinks at reasonable prices. Great view of the nice ships and a great terrace.

Exceptional service and food. I have a cold, so the proprietess offered to make ginger tea then when she saw I was going to take the used ginger she offered me a large fresh piece to take away. Because fresh is better. The bouibase was wonderful as was the local schnapps. Helped a weary traveler feel welcomed and cared for.

Lovely pub, cozy, nice place and very nice staff. Also a pool table available for free use. The special beer card is also very good, they always have surprising and tasty beers. Furthermore, there is a very nice and relaxed atmosphere, everything is possible as long as you behave.

Wonderful community cafe, bar and restaurant. Oh, and meeting venue too!

This nice unpretentious worn and torn place is run by the locals, meaning the neighbors living in this neighborhood. They'll cook your meal and brew your coffee. I love their beer selection. That way they manage to keep the place open and running, benefitting this part of town. Otherwise this cosy space would have to close down. Young kids play games and table football, their parents play snooker. Nice atmosphere!

It was a great atmospheer in the cafe we were 6 people and we were realy having a good time
i went to de bar and asked de young blond girl for a big plate of french fries and i gave her a big empty plate and said i want this size cus we are 6 people.
she said ""its coming!"" without looking up continued talking with the other collegs, and without giving the order to the kitchen,
i kept standing, looking at her , i felt that its not going to happand, i was agnored ,she was loud talking and loughing with her collegs...after a while i sat down.

20 minuts letter i went to the bar, she was stil in a high chating mood with her collegs, i said doubting "are u sure its coming? , she lookd at me and with a fast high dismising voice :: ""i hoop so"!
and went on with loud chating with her collags, i saw a quik doubt in her eyes, but stuborn she didnt stop to check. and went on talking and cleaning glasses, i said : can i please order 2 plates insteed of one? she dismissd me with ookkeee!!! and went back to her freinds .

half an hour letter i went back to her and asked , is the order in working?
she said : ja it is buzy. and kept talking and chating
30 minut letter it stil didnt come ,
i didnt mind waiting, the thing is i was sure its not going to happand.
i think i reminded her 4 times only at the fourth time she pased the order to the kitchen
i sat down , than she came with a mini mini mini portion of franch freis, a 2 years old child portion.
the manager came and said with same arogant voice that he is going to fix it and we are going to get a lot of franch freis as a compensation,
an hour latter she came with a one mini mini mini 2 year old child size frenchfreis,
nobody ever said sorry thank you or please , or even looked at me, i kept being arogantly dismissd .

letter, one of us had to pay dubble for what she orderd becouse someone she doesnt know left without paying, there was no place for discussion,

Friendly staff, good beers (a lot from brewery 't IJ), nice terrace with a view, more accessible than it might seem, and good food. There is a pool table. And within a bench beautifully painted by artist Steven Oprinsen.

The Ocean is a super cozy neighborhood restaurant! People of all ages can feel at home here.

Super good snack bar with a very nice atmosphere and a super nice crew. The food is surprisingly good and the terrace is very nice on the water. Very cheap drinks for a tent in Amsterdam. In short: super place.

It is time for a renewed review; I have now eaten several times at The Ocean and every time I have received a very friendly welcome, I ate delicious (recommended: take the pasta carbonara) and I am happy to come!
