After over a year of individual and marriage counseling, a month after our divorce Emma was at my ex-husbands home and asked our son to lie to me about it so she would not lose her license. This experience has been damaging on so many levels.
I have been in Resonate's care for the last six years. The insights gained into my own and my wife's struggles can't really be monetized: all I can tell you is that pain not recognized will be passed on generation after generation, and a divorce would be far more costly for any couple, as well as their children. Special thanks to Karin Imhoff for being there with us in our struggles with ourselves, each other and our children. Her wisdom and good advice have been deeply appreciated. I would say that even in the best times of my relationships, even with the greatest self-confidence and strong conviction that I had the happiest of childhoods, I could have used what I know now about myself - I just didn't recognize the importance of a trained professional soon enough!
Do not go here for marriage counseling. I swear, my counseling sessions here set progress in my marriage back years. Grant's advice is completely one sided against men. It is always the man's fault. Seek help elsewhere. Do not wast your money.
I had the best experience with Shawna. She truly helped me get through a situation in my relationship that could have been very drawn out and very hard. Because of her guidance I came out of the situation happier than ever, more confident and relaxed, and understanding what is best for me. Without her help I don't know that things would have gone so smoothly. I recommend her for anyone going through tough patches in relationships, etc. I am highly confident she could help with various situations.
Grant Wood saved me from a narcissist. He deserves 5 stars.
Can't agree more with Jared. Absolutely amazed at how one sided the sessions are and it was my wife's wrong-doing. Just don't show that it upsets you... you'll end up in anger management therapy too! What a joke.
Grant Wood has been my counselor for 10 years. He really helped me dig deep into my own heart and soul when going through the darkest time in my life. He also recommended books to read, and encouraged other healing practices he found helpful. I understand that you won't gel with every therapist, it's the nature of the beast, but it would seem to me that if you don't like Grant, you have some deeper issues to figure out in your own heart. And the good news is that he has a whole team of therapist, surely you'll find one to help you figure some stuff out.
Worked with Lori Justice for 5 years, she had mood swings, unreliable, heavily opinionated and appears to have her own unresolved mental health issues. I will really caution couples, children and families to steer clear of her. I believe she was disbarred from Kansas as an attorney or surrendered her license for unethical conduct years ago so switched to family counseling.
Dropped my minor daughter mid therapy as they didn't feel qualified to help her, but no follow up to help us find a replacement and bridge the gap while we get established elsewhere.
Emma has been a huge blessing to our family. Very insightful.
