I've stayed here several times over the previous few years whenever I've needed to work in Manchester. It's conveniently located on the corner of the shopping district, just a few mins walk from Arndale shopping centre, Filmworks and More

Convenient transportation, free bus No. 2 and No. 3 can be reached. There are shopping centers and supermarkets nearby. Although the restaurant is old but clean, the breakfast is a traditional English breakfast, and the breakfast dishes will not be replaced.

Conference rooms nice and clean, spacious. It was quite cold on the day we were there but staff brought in a heater for us. Good food provided, pastries, hot lunch with lovely desserts and mid afternoon cakes

The hotel building is very old but after renovation, interior is now modern. The location is excellent, Close to market street, Arndale, Arena, Cathedral Street, Corn Exchange. 10-15 minutes walk to Piccadilly. NCP parking nearby, short-stay road side parking also available nearby. SPAR grocery store just opposite.
Stay was fine, would have given 5 star, but Renaissance is a Marriott group hotel and I expected a better welcome. No one helped with the luggage, had to drag it from taxi to Room all by myself.

Brilliant location near the top of Deansgate. Well decorated, modern hotel (it's not going to win any awards for the outside, but the inside is clean, contemporary and nicely finished). Service was friendly and efficient.

stayed 30/12/14. the room had no heating and only half the electrical sockets worked. the staff were unhelpful, ordered room service and was told everything had to be delivered at the same time despite me coming to reception to collect it. would not stay again. Definitely not 4 star.

Lovely ambience, friendly staff and walking distance to a plethora of shopping, dining and attractions options. I'd give it 5 stars if I had not had to move rooms due to room location or heating problems.

When we arrived, there was only a little poster indicating where the car park was. There is no information about this on the booking information. The car park is very small and is a struggle for larger cars. The hotel itself was very nice. The corridors to the rooms look very prison style but the room itself was lovely. The bed was very comfy and it was very clean. The only thing i would say was that there was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom and the bed sheets did not cover the bed properly. We had breakfast in the morning which was lovely. A large selection of bakery, cooked breakfast and cereals. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Good that soya milk was out with the coffee and a great vegan lunch was available preordered. Would have been good to have allergen labelling on all the food labels too. The air con was broke in a hot conference room too.

The location is in one word superb, you are in the middle of Manchester with loads of stuff to see and do within a minute walk. The hotel has been revamped and improved on the designer side. The bar is allright and looks modern, easy for a quick drink but if you really want to have fun it's best to just walk out to one of Manchesters pubs. Rooms are spacious and have been updated too, I do miss a set of USB connecters to charge your phone. Staff is nice and willing to help.

The location is perfect if youngest a room with some river view, the bus is right outside the hotel. Some features in the apartment are a bit worn now, like the shower door does not really close, the flooring is quite worn, the window seals seam to have a problem as the street noise gets thru without any problem. The service is a bit distanced, we asked to get our TV fixed as the picture quality was absurd, and the receptionist could not even tell if someone did take a look.
But overall a great experience, just a bit overpriced for the quality.

Location right in the shopping Centre of Manchester. The rooms are very spacious and have huge windows wich brings a lot of light into the room. The bed was against the wall next to the door, which is a bit annoying. When a room door is shut on the same side on the same floor, the headboard resonates right through your head. Room has probably been refurbished a few years ago, but by the look of the style it seems like decades ago. The bathroom misses a separate shower, I hate to shower standing in a bath tub. And it looks a bit dated and shabby. Having your guests pay for a Internet connection is just really bad. It's 2016. But they tend to forget that in Britain anyway. Like they tend to forget your wake up call. To end on a good note, the bed is really comfortable.

Constant sound of slooshing water from air con or heating all night kept me awake. Had to move rooms to get any sleep. Member of staff gave me a detailed explanation of problem with air con unit at 3am (previous occupant had it turned "too low" causing ice to form and melt) but offered no apology or compensation. The room was generally in poor condition, with one of the curtains failing to stretch the full width of the window, letting light from building opposite into room, which also reflected on the mirror opposite the bed, making it impossible to escape. The bathroom was also in need of updating - stained sink and tatty wall and ceiling tiles (see picture). Only redeeming feature was room size, which was above average.

Hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. Handy location in the city center. There is no executive lounge which is a disappointment as other Marriott tend to have one.
