Renaissance is the epitome of a vulture developer....

Renaissance is the epitome of a vulture developer. They destroy old homes to erect cheap, plywood McMansions that mold and rot in less than a decade. They treat neighbors and neighborhoods with complete disdain. You can be sure that anywhere they've built, they've left behind angry, resentful neighbors. A poor quality home in a neighborhood that doesn't want you there? You should look elsewhere.

We have owned this home since 2013, and love it. We had the opportunity to "stalk" this builder for a couple years before deciding to choose Renaissance to build our home. We visited several building sites to observe the process, and found the the techniques and building practices were done as advertised. We worked primarily with Amanda Andruss and couldn't be happier with the whole process from finding a lot, to home completion and move in. The communication was excellent, and the support from on-site construction foreman was also great.

We are the second owner of a home built by Renaissance Homes in 2002 in the Forest Heights area. The first issue we had was an improperly installed main water service (wrong pipe, not buried deep enough). Cost us $5000 to replace. No exterior vapor barrier wrap installed. So far $2500 in repairs to siding and framing. Shower pan installed improperly and cracked - $1500. Nail driven in to cold water shower pipe. $3000 in subfloor and reframing. Squeaky floors everywhere. Do not buy from this builder. You will regret it. I'd have give 0 stars, but it wouldn't let me.

Thanks for being one of the main contributor to the ruin of Portland original craftsman homes. Your method of building on vintage single family home lots, new ticky tacky boxes has cause me PTSD. Portland urban has loss its charm and you are a dis-ease amongst its streets.

As a Realtor and one who specializes in home marketing, I enjoy the process of seeing our clients purchase and sell a Renaissance home. The quality of build is second to none and I never hesitate to market the quality and prestige that comes with owning a Renaissance home. Our clients really enjoy the peace of mind they get with a home by Randy. Their customer service is outstanding and they stand by their work. We give them a 10! The Gardner Team, Sherwood OR

I don't own one of these homes, but I think they look great. It's a shame people like Talina Monique want to disparage people with actual PTSD just to try and communicate that they don't think the homes look nice.

Renaissance built my home on a lot I purchased in SE Portland from a design they had on the shelf--and it is fabulous. So many items were included such as instant hot water (tankless), timed light/fan in shower, wide driveway, crown molding in a few rooms, and energy efficient HVAC. My craftsman home design fits well in the neighborhood and we love one story living as a retired couple. Customer service is attentive and fairly quick. Very professional. My one regret is that I picked out my cabinets in their design studio with VERY BRIGHT LIGHTS. At home, it is not as bright and the cabinet color is not the same. Knocked off one star for that issue.
