8/2014: I used their emergency services because my cat attacked my dog. They were very fast, very efficient, reasonably priced, and I will return anytime I need emergency services.

7/2017: My dog got a tick for the first time, I walked in to ask about how much it would be to take it off ( as I've never done it before) and the receptionist did it right then and there!

My little dog was stung twice in one week by a wasp. Of course it was after regular business hours & we had to go during emergency hours. Nalah was very close to death from anaphylactic shock. I didn't know she was allergic. The Dr saw her immediately both times & as far as i am concerned, brought her back from deaths door. They even gave me some medication that would buy her a little time if it happened again. I am very grateful to them for saving my fur baby.

Always great service (with ONE exception from one nurse(?) about 10 years ago, literally only that one time) and my pets come away happy and healthy and well taken care of. Prices aren t exactly competitive, but I feel like with pet healthcare you shouldn t be looking for a deal, you should be looking for quality.

Yesterday (August 21st 2016) our little cat Sasha had to be euthanized. She'd been sick for a while, and as my usual vet was not available at weekends I needed someone to look at her urgently when she took a turn for the worse, and so went to Redwood Veterinary Clinic. The staff there were super helpful and friendly, and the on-duty vet was very attentive and sympathetic. He did some tests, and confirmed our worst suspicions, even coming out to the parking lot to our car to break the news and our various options at length to us with great patience. We decided to euthanize our kitty, and I attended, holding her while Dr. Hoskins gave the injection. It was dreadfully upsetting, but carried out with great compassion and sensitivity. I cannot recommend these folks highly enough.

2nd time here with my other dog here and unfortunately she turned out to be a "pot dog" and don't know how . Even so they treated her quickly even with a line of other patients they were treating. Scary night but glad they took care of her and she is okay.

Am a SRJC prof, find that many folks in that community have been going to this vet clinic. Dr Hoskins has saved my dog's life literally 3 times, once from a loss of her nose due to attack/ She is still alive and kicking at age 17. Prices are compassionate, the staff so loving. Can't say enough about this place. Not fancy, their money goes into compassionate care

You saved her life so we will never forget that and I received daily updates on her from the doctors and that was so comforting to her everyday . Thank you All I have my sweetest fur baby home, alive and Well. Thank you for giving me my BFF back. Sincerely, Stacy Bolan

During these trying times they were very accommodating. We had to say goodbye to the family dog and they waited for all the kids to get there to say goodbye, then brought the dog out to the parking lot and waited with us for about an hour. It was very sweet.

These people jumped right in and took care of my critically ill cat. After a week of intensive care he pulled through and was able to come home for a full recovery! Despite the extreme cost it was worth it. Very compassionate doctors. Well done!

Dr. Hoskins an exceptional diagnostician. I don't live in the area but travel to Redwood to see Dr. Hoskins when my dogs need something beyond a minor issue. My experiences go back to the 90's and there are too many to list. One example is when a local vet couldn't come up with a diagnosis for one of my dogs. I then took him to Dr. Hoskins who correctly diagnosed Lyme Disease. My dog made a full recovery under his care. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

I called asking whether my cat should be brought in for an emergency visit or just an appointment. The receptionist was incredibly rude and didn't even try to help. I was simply asking for a suggestion and she responded with attitude and even interrupted me. I would not trust bringing my pet here if they can't even be polite or respectful.

I am the Director of Programs for a animal rescue and deal with many veterinarians across the State. This is a first-class operation through and through. The staff are amazing, and they treat your animals like they are part of their family. The Dr. even called me at home to tell me how the surgery went. Only gave five stars cause there aren't 10

They helped save my little fluffy girl at the ER around midnight.
They may charge more, but they also offer more. I regret nothing, because my fiance has panic attacks, and this little ball of cuddles is the only one who can anticipate and then diffuse her anxiety. Sometimes, a pet isn't just a pet.

I love love LOVE this clinic! I went to much fancier, more expensive clinic and they couldn't diagnose what was wrong with my dog. Finally, I arrived here and in one visit we were on the right path. THANK YOU!!!

Aboslutely ridiculous don't even think about bringing your animals in during the middle of the day because there is not a single doctor in the building while they are all on lunch (all at the same time by the way). Not even a single doctor or nurse to cover another while he/she is out on lunch or anything. It's also ONLY AN EMERGANCY CLINIC AFTER 6. Even if you have the animal with you right then and there they will not take your animal in. The big receptionist at the front with the poofy and curly hair is an abosolute joke at her job and doesn't have a single sense of ergency in her body. Was in no hurry to help, only shood us away and told us to go and find another pet hospital. This place is a joke and should not have an Emergency sign on its face.

Worst experience ever. Took my cat in at 6:30 PM. He got in to see the doc and was examined by 8 pm. Was told he needed a procedure and would be ready for pick up around 10 pm. I stay up until 12:30 am. Got a call at 2:30 am to pick up or they would charge extra if I pick him up in the morning ! No discharge paperwork, it will be mailed...he has Penrose hanging out of his neck. Thank God I know what I'm doing! The only saving grace was the sweet Vet Tech that discharged him curbside - she was really sweet! At least the doc fixed him up, thanks for that . As a medical care worker I feel that they need to care for the furr babies people better. Honestly goes a long way! If I have anymore issues I will go to the other side of town for treatment despite having to traumatize my pets with the long drive.

Thank you again for how fast you took care of my grand fur baby and his owner! This place treats animals as if family and don t feel money should be the only matter! This is not the 1at time we have used you and it won t be the last!!

Called this vet at 7:45pm on a Tuesday night because my dog broke his back right femur. Had my vet send them x rays. They told me to come in the next morning. Called them the next morning after driving 4 hours and they didn t even know who I was. And proceeded to tell me the surgeon wasn t even going to be there that day. There receptionist the night before was clueless!!! How unprofessional! Hopefully someone else can perform surgery on my dog today. After these people wasted my 14 hours of my time as the clock counts down on my puppy.

They're okay if you're in a pinch. My usual vet is actually cheaper than these guys, she's just not open on the weekends. I took one of the dogs in because he wouldn't stop shaking his ear, the 45 minute wait was 3 hours, the doctor walked out of the room and never came back, he didn't find anything and I'm out $300. I have a feeling I still have to visit my vet as well.

Don't let the age or condition of their building distract you because this is a marvelous collection of support staff and doctors, starting with the first person to greet you warmly when you arrive.
My German Shepherd and I had been to at least six other vets over a period of several years with no success diagnosing his chronic symptoms. I am forever grateful to Dr. Hoskins who identified the issue on our first visit which they confirmed with a biopsy.
I also want to acknowledge Dr. Lee for the remarkable way she combines brilliance and compassion in her work.
I highly recommend the Redwood Veterinary Clinic for any pet owners. They're a great group of professionals but also a great group of people.
One suggestion, ask the cost of a procedure before you give your approval because the doctors are 100% focused on helping your pet, not on particular prices.

I took my 4mo puppy to a well known veterinary hospital in Santa Rosa where I paid a lot of money for the doctor to just send my puppy back home with anti-nausea medication after a 4hr wait and no diagnosis. About an hour later my puppy seemed to be worse. I decided to take him to a different hospital-Redwood Veterinary Clinic- because I just couldn't trust the other place anymore. Dr. Hoskins was genuinely caring and that made me feel comfortable right away. I could tell he is passionate about animals. The doctor took the time to listen to me and to evaluate my pup. He diagnosed my puppy with an infection. Obviously the other hospital had not fully assessed him. One can tell that the staff at Redwood Veterinary Clinic truly care about animals and not about stealing your money.. Very grateful for a hospital like this!

Saved my dog's life for over $1000 less than an estimate from the other emergency vet. Our dog had eaten a large sock that was stuck in his digestive system and I was legit afraid we could not afford to save his life given the cost of the surgery from the first vet we took him to. However, the office staff at Redwood was very understanding about our cost concerns and got the previous estimate down to a place we could afford. I cannot thank them enough for saving our boy.

I am giving one star but would give no stars if at all possible. Pretty sure this place is responsible for killing my cat. I brought him in very sick with diabetic ketoacidosis. He was kept for 3 and a half days at which time I was told I could take him home. I took him and left the office and proceeded to drive across the street to a pet store. I took my cat in his carrier into the pet store. After 20 minutes in the store I check out and leave. Upon trying to put my cats carrier into the car I realized he wasn't breathing properly. I rush back to the vets and the vet tells me they think he may have thrown a clot( had a stroke). So, I leave him there on oxygen and warmers to see if he improves. Later when my best friend talks to another vet at Redwood she is told that the problem wasn't a stroke but that it was hypothermia. My cat had been kept on warmers for 3 and a half days and upon releasing him to my care promptly had an extreme drop in temperature from being off the warmers. 2 hours later I was back at the office saying goodbye and having my cat put to sleep. Don't trust these people. They don't know what they are doing. My cat was released too early and I wasn't advised of a need to keep him on warmers if they did feel he was otherwise ok to go home. I am currently disputing charges because they killed my cat and shouldn't get another dime.
