TAM is wonderful. When they correct thier lighting problems they'll be first rate.
Beautiful building, loved the impressionist exhibit.
Amazing staff and clean, sanitary facilities. Exhibits are always well organized and easy to view from every angle.
Did a performance. Details were spot on. Artists were beautiful...
We especially liked the Chihuly exhibit.
Surveying Northwest Art exhibit had great variety.
Art's big in Tacoma -- and fittingly, TAM possesses heavyweight works in a collection bigger than you'd expect from the outside. Building itself has an interesting architecture to it as well. The expected donations are reasonable for its size and it makes a nice afternoon to see the entire place. I swing by from time to time when they change exhibits.
Really loved the diversity of displays. The Western gallery was great!
Beautiful pieces of art and always something new to look forward to.
Phenomenal contribution to the arts in our city. Look out for Neighborhood Thursdays when it's free admission!
First art museum I've been to, will definitely be back.
Great museum with easily some of the friendliest staff you'll find.
Fine museum located in the historic waterfront of old Tacoma. Beautiful galleries featuring outstanding Northwest artists both past and present. Don't miss the black bean coconut soup in the cafe, either!
We are lucky to have a museum of this quality in Tacoma
Went for an event. Quite a nice place and amazing collections!
A spectacular museum.....filled with many collections of incredible art including Dale Chihuly's glass. Don't forget to see and appreciate the big dog! See you at TAM.
It's nice. But we quickly go around. You have to go to the courthouse next door (an old train station) and cross the bridge.
Very cool. Plan for about 1-2 hours to visit everything. Military and family receive free admission also
First art museum I've been to, will definitely be back.
This place always amazes me. They have local art and change the center theme monthly. They also hold Dia de Los Muertos every year with local artists and food vendors.
I was very impressed with the amount they offered for free. And my little had a lot of fun. Kind staff and they kept up on keeping it clean.
Went to see the French Impressionism exhibit. Found it to be well done with beautiful paintings by Monet, Renoir, Hassam and others. Exhibit has been extended to Jan. 19, 2020. Also enjoyed Chihuly exhibit. There is a small convenient cafe there also.
Great place to take my kids for a day out excursion. There featured exhibit and additional displays entertained my family.
Very modern and good excibiones spacious and comfortable.
Beautiful place, not overwhelming for those who aren't well versed in the art world, and the even have a couple interactive exhibits. But beware of parking -- there are two lots connected be driveways and without clear markings of where one ends and the other begins, but they have different pay points and if you pay at the wrong one it will cost you $40
Great place for kids and adults, very beautiful sculptures and glass arts exhibits, highly recommended.
Great art and easy to work with staff , but you get done very fast unless you are a art fanatic unlike me.
Great place to learn about the art of blowing glass.
Little bits of history with some modern.. really chill place
Dale Chihuly's incomparable work is on display here. Go for the Chihuly glass, which is beyond peer.
They have some other stuff too, but the Chihuly collection uses up all my time when I visit.
Great museum that focuses on local art, by more reknown artists in glass, jewelry, and a historical painting gallery. I found the local "amateur" art in the classrooms more relatable than the permanent historical pieces on the first floor. However, there a wonderful pieces throughout the entire museum to study and admire.
Great museum that really gets the kids/teens involved.
Great place to visit. It was wonderful to be allowed free admission because of being in the military. Thanks for providing us that benefit.
We really enjoyed seeing all the exhibits. Wish there were more items to view. That's the only reason for not giving 5 stars, because it took us less than an hour to view everything. There were a few areas that were closed to viewing.
We really appreciate your support to the military.
Absolutely amazing art museum. Such beautiful French Impressionist paintings on display when I visited.
Quiet and offered a student discount. Well kept and an awesome way to spend a few hours in Tacoma.
Great exhibits and brilliant reimagining of collection to work around new exhibit about immigration.
The recent expansion, with an impressive exhibit of glass, is a must see for anyone coming to the Northwest.
They always have beautiful galleries and do a great job mixing eras
A Decent place to watch Master pieces of varieties of artwork, oil paintings, scuppers, glass and wood carvings etc
Make sure to see if anyone is blowing glass while you are at the Museum.
Superb museum. The western art collection is stunning.
Had a pleasant surprise that our glass museum passes got us in to the art museum. The exhibits were great. Loved the Simpsons and the Immigration exhibits.
When I went most of the galleries were cloaed. The art available was great, I just wish there had been a heads up about the closures
Interesting and engaging architecture lays out exhibits in an accessible, logical yet creative manner. The natural light also contributes to the art displayed. Love the free open art studio available to the public! What a great way to get visitors to realize we are all talented. Loved our day spent here.
Loved listening to the native American music today. Thank you.
Of course, it's great. We even had a pleasant lunch.
Interesting things to see. I didn't really understand the point of their "dark room." There was a place for kids to do art and that was fun.
The museum itself is nice but nothing really anything special. Admission for a non-member adult is $18, which seems steep for what it is. I went for an Impressionist exhibit (which was small-to-moderately sized, about 50 pieces) and saw the rest of the museum (which is mostly glass and indigenous art) in <90 minutes. FYI: parking can be found below the building and is $2/hour prepaid at a machine.
I have many museums to compare this to so it's only downfall is that it's not world class like the Toledo Museum of Art. It's not Tacoma's fault.
Great experience for a first time visit. Loads of art. The giant dog made of cardboard, wow well done. Military discount got my group of three all in free. We had a good time even though we didn't even see half the art displayed.
This is a beautiful place to visit so much to see in beautiful downtown also known as the city of destiny
Amazing!!! Fashion is Art was a dream!! Here I'm Showcasing Dawnamatrix Latex Fashion put on by Fashion District NW
Gotta love TAM. Went on the free Thursday promotion that they do every week. They always have a good variety every time i visit, though there are some permanent pieces. Its also very easy to get to the museum, parking is inexpensive and easy to use, which is rare for Tacoma.
This place always amazes me. They have local art and change the center theme monthly. They also hold Dia de Los Muertos every year with local artists and food vendors.
A large collection of Chihuly glass, western art and fearless displays of provocative art.
Amazing glass and the glassblowing displays are really cool!
Really nice art musuem- wish it was a little bigger.
Amazing art museum for a small City. The Haub family collection alone is worth the visit.
Love this place, kids enjoy everything there too, could stay all day and not run out of things to do.
Good place. We were stalked the whole time by the staff.
Wonderful museum with great historical significance, beautiful architecture, and fun amenities.
Nice space. Usually go on Third Thursday when it's free
Such a lovely venue for a wedding! The art pieces are beautiful and interesting.
Wonderful western art, immigrant art, video on the Chinese expulsion
