Reds Place Review

Good friendly service in a clean, fun atmosphere. GREAT FOOD. Great beer selection.

Initially was going to Ithaca Ale house but after realizing its full we went to Red's place. The drinks were good and so was the food. Unfortunately, our waitress told us 35 minutes before closing that the kitchen and bar were closed. We figured it was normal until we realized other people were able to order up until around closing time. Our waitress Crystal even brought us the bill 20 minutes before closing without us even asking. We asked another waitress if the bar and kitchen is closed and she said that it isn't. After all that Crystal was rude and ruined a big part of our night.
If you want exceptional service and amazing drinks, I recommend you walk up to Argos Ithaca Bar. Stunning place just a 7 minute walk.

I'm always satisfied with my lunch at Red's. The staff is friendly, food is very tasty, and they always have a good selection of beer on tap. Some "beer bars" have a good selection but the beer doesn't taste fresh or the glasses are dirty or something's just not quite right. When I get a fresh pint of Lagunitas or Single Cut at Red's, I can tell they take care of their supply and taps. Tastes great!

Great food with some unique offers, friendly staff, clean, good service

Been here several times, and always happy when I leave. The menu is typical American, but with unique twists that keep it interesting. Good selection of craft beer, great location next to several restaurants, and a chill atmosphere means I'll definitely be back in the future.

Absolutely delicious. Both the gluten free burger bun and the normal one. I was particularly impressed with the loaded fries.

GREAT food!!! Loaded tots, PB & J burger & Pork Sausage burger were all unique and fantastic! Service was average. Restaurant was fairly clean but there were many flies around the dining area. We would go back.

Excellent food. Great customer service. Marie was very sweet. Fun mixed drinks. Pleasant calm atmosphere with bar and sports on TV. 1st time there and will gladly return.

Had a couple of beers and a appetizer spinach and artichoke dip had zero flavor had beers bunch of grease on top beer lines need to be cleaned not so good I will never go back

We went two days in a row while visiting Ithica since we loved the food ! Loved the proper pig flat bread and reds cheese pot, and enjoyed the side of the waffle fries. The mahi taco appetizer was a bit dry and overcooked, but still great over all !

Delicious food and excellent kind staff. Would highly recommend. Also very kid friendly. So glad we found this gem!

This is a great casual place for eating. Daily specials like soups and flatbreads are wonderful, the burger of the month is always a tasty combination. The salads are great. The menus change peridically to add new items. Our favorite place for lunch in Ithaca.

Great food. Matt Rachun makes the best drinks in town. One of the best restaurants in Ithaca by far.

Fun relaxed atmosphere. Not rushed. Food was great. My only suggestion is to serve the French fries while they're hot. Will definitely come here again.

One of my favorite restaurants in all of Ithaca. Just really good burgers with a really good selection of drinks. The atmosphere is almost pub-like but it's rarely noisy and the food is way above pub food. My only gripe would be that some of the burgers are just too juicy and tend to smother the plate making the burger hard to put down, lest it get soggy. There is outdoor seating and the wait is never very long. If you have never been there, I would highly recommend it if you have even a passing interest in burgers.

The steak sandwich with potato au gratin on it was bland bland bland. Fries are frozen steak fries. Service is slow. For the price go to one of the other fine high quality restaurants around the area.

Enjoyed dinner here the other day. Burgers were cooked perfectly to order. Sweet potato waffle fries were amazing, a real highlight despite the silly serving baskets. The service was very friendly and good, though it was a bit of a slower meal during a busy dinner service. Draft menu was IPA-heavy but had some good selections. They don't offer flights though, and that would have been enjoyable. We got the loaded tater tots as an appetizer, and there was a beer cheese sauce on them that was very well balanced and delicious. It's not something I even usually like that much but this one was really good.

Sandwich was a bit small, but it tasted great. Atmosphere was welcoming. Great kids menu and portions. Appetizers were phenomenal!

Menu and beer are good, and they have created a nice atmosphere to pig out on larger entrees or order some smaller shareable plates as your appetite may dictate. I think they have a bit more work to do on their front-of-house operations as little things get missed like special requests from the server. Food is a bit less-than-hot when it comes out indicating it sits on the order window for a while before people grab it. These things can be ironed out with good management and training.

Excellent share plates which can be good for personal consumption if you're really hungry ;)

Our friends and my family, including a 3 year old and two seven month olds were seated for brunch today and our server was Sam. We were slightly apprehensive about bringing such young children into the restaurant and asked if it was going to be family friendly or if it would be a more adult atmosphere. Sam immediately made us and our little ones feel completely welcome. He engaged our children and got to know us on a more personal level. He had a great attitude and genuinely cared about our experience.

My meal was delicious (I ordered "The Mrs."). It was reminiscent of Eggs Benedict but with so much more personality. The bread was was perfectly crispy and the Dijon dill cream sauce was out of this world.

We cannot wait to visit Red's again! Thank you, Sam, and all those involved in food preparation and overall atmosphere for such a great dining experience. We will look forward to returning and recommending to local friends and out of town visitors.

First time at Red s today, struggled to pick an entree because everything sounded so good. We finally made our decisions and were not disappointed, at all. Everything was great, I cannot wait to come back. Service was very good. Lighting is dim but that only hindered me from taking a great photo of my food!

It is a great place with good food and a great atmosphere for business or a good chat with a friend.

Never actually got my food. Super excited to go here, sat down, and was then ignored for 35 minutes. After we were seated, no one came over to get our drink order or our food order. Went inside to ask what was up and still no service. Finally called it quits and left when they started to service a table that came in 20 minutes after us.

One of the best Cuban's I've had. Food and service was excellent, surprisingly well stocked bar with a diverse selection of drinks.

They have a unique menu with something for everyone. There were so many interesting dishes we wish we could have tried more! But we all really enjoyed our food and loved being able to have our dog out on the patio.

Turkey, garlic mayo and cranberry sandwich was delicious! We also brought our 2 dogs and the waiter brought them a bowl of water which was really nice!

beautiful! Server knew exactly what foods were on the menu, and asked questions so she could bring the food out how we wanted it. She went along with my goofy requests, and managed to convince the kitchen to serve me a smaller portion of dessert because I really wanted dessert, but am trying to lose half my body weight and didn't want to be tempted by the whole portion. Delicious food!

I decided to stop by for some grub; this happened to be an "alright experience"

As I walked In I noticed that the staff wasn't very attentive to arriving guests- It wasn't very busy from the looks of it. The only member of the staff who was calm and had their act together was the bartender.

On the menu I saw an amazing list of food.
The down side being that it's all too much that I had to sit for an extra 10-15 minutes figuring out what I wanted to eat.

I got upset once I ordered and the waitress didn't even suggest anything on the menu.

I didn't have any napkins at my table at first. That's another thing don't cheap out on Napkins and buy expensive maison jars and small fryers as a serving plate. Dinner Napkins are far better.

The tots were slightly under- seasoned and skimpy

The Our Cuban Sandwich tasted ok with that said the Chimichurri sauce tasted and smelled amazing!

Once I was finished the waitress was quick to pick up my plate- I didn't like that one bit. She gave me the check... I paid...gave her a reasonable tip at the end she didn't even say goodbye or anything.

I will come back next time hoping for a better experience and better food! Please do not disappoint!

I would also like to add that... not everyone wants Ice in their drinks even though it's summer, ask!!!

Great comfort food and atmosphere at reasonable prices.

Good food, outdoor and indoor seating. Great service. Upscale enough for formal dinner, casual enough for friendly get-togethers. Very creative menu. Some vegetarian options but geared more omnivore options.

Tasty burgers, tasty tots, even the fried dough nachos were good. Beer was alright.

90 degrees outside and the place was cool and inviting. The wife had the crab cake pattie and I had the pb and jelly bacon cheeseburger. They were both awesome and were great with a cold beer . Service was great also.

The service is very impressive considering that they only had one person behind the bar and taking orders. I ordered the French Onion Burger, it was slightly undercooked and greasy, the fries did not seem fresh but they where not bad. The service is what really made this review jump from 3 to 4 stars.
