Red Rock Thermal Motel Review

Staff is friendly. A very clean place good value for money. The pool is excellent.

As a group of seven adults it was fantastic to be in a cottage together and all with our own bed. The rooms were wonderfully clean, very warm and had every amenity that we could hope for. We made good use of the beautiful spa room, it was a beautiful relaxing experience.
The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
It was only a 15 minute walk into town which was great for going to dinner and enjoying a few drinks with it.

Lovely rooms but staff not friendly kicking everyone out before checkout. Switching off pool lights before 21:00h curfew.... HAPPY to take your money even happier to kick you out...

Nice motel, good location, nice swimming pool whith hot water and spa. Room clean and tidy. However they say they hawe sky TV, but I didn't hawe it in my room and bed madrace is way too old and not comfortable, so old that on some part of madrace wires are out. And for me, like for a most people on holiday, good comfortable bed is really important.

The facilities in the room are excellent, the WiFi is very good, the room finishing service is not inferior to others, but the old man is not laughing.

Staff here are very friendly and nice, gave us a full walkthrough of the room when we entered and let us know about the hot pools (one of which you can only be in for a select period of time due to heat and minerals).

The hot pools here are fantastic and are great on a cold,rainy day.

Room also came with discounts to a couple of the tourist destinations around Rotorua.

Really lovely welcome, very fast and professional briefing about pools and room. Room was comfortable and clean. Within walking distance to hospital, fast food, and bottleshop. If we need to stay in Rotorua again, it will be here.

We often stay here, it has good accommodation, a good thermal pool and a good swimming pool. Alot cheaper than other places with better facilities.

Clean motel and nice garden. Spafacility seemed nice even though we did not give it a try. Rooms are clean but small! Especially for a big family. Position is a bit from the centre so you will need a car.

The owner of this business was rude and quite hostile. We arrived later than expected due to weather conditions on the road. For this reason only the women wanted to charge us extra, which ended up in us having to leave without any other accommodation. Luckily the motel directly opposite was kind enough to find us a room even though it was late, and they were closed. They treated us with respect and made us feel welcome, unlike the Red Rock Thermal Motel. Avoid!!

Great place to stay with a clean and decent size rooms, nice, helpful and very accommodating staff.
Definitely worth recommending to friends and family.

Thermal indoor pool, heated outdoor pool, playground with trampoline. Very tidy and quiet. Radiator heating. Not much light in the room though.

Stayed here many times. They go the extra mile to please. It's not the Ritz and nor are the prices. The spa due for a tidy up but a very nice all around experience. I'd stay here again, again and probably again.

Lovely room, friendly staff, but she came and knocked on my door and asked that my visitor leaves and it was only 9:12pm and website CLEARLY states 10pm? ,
It was only me, my daughter and my friend visiting so wasnt noisey or anything??? Other than that. Very pleasnt stay.

Ok motel, clean room with heating, big and comfortable beds. It is enough to spend the nights and visit Rotorua during the days. Nothing displeased us but with our activities, not had time to enjoy the pool and the spa. The receptionist is friendly and advises well on activities and places to do and visit with brochures available.

Customer service was excellent and owner went over and above. Highly recommended!!

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE LIKE AIRCON AND PRIVACY as this motel lacks both! We complained about how hot the room was to an older Australian man when we were checking out and he completely passed the buck saying "the bloody Chinese don't want to spend money on this place..." We told them one fan was not enough and that aircon should be installed, beds to be replaced as they were lumpy and unsupported!
I was unwell and it was a 40+ degree day and we had to open all the windows and blinds but that meant people in the car park and other rooms could see into our room. There were no flyscreens either and the bed was the worst bed in the world. What a joke!
The mineral spa was lovely and the place was clean but with no privacy, no comfort and no aircon made our stay hell :(

Such a cute lovely and tidy home away from home. Very cosy, you wouldn't have known it was 0 degrees outside because the rooms are so warm! Reception lady was very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to rebook our stay at red rock thermal motel on our next trip to awesome rotorua. Nga mihi nui

My husband and I are delighted, the girl at the reception is charming, she recommended beautiful places to go, she has given us a great service in the days we have been here.
The hotel itself is very good, it has charm. It is also very well located.

They can do your laundry and that has come in handy for us.
The only downside is the bed, hard

Awesome motel, we got the large 2 bedroom cabin which was well equipped and had a large space for my 2 year old niece. The couple who runs this place was really friendly. Also featured a mineral spa and laundry room

Loved the private thermal pool! We had a huge room with great private patio and great wet room/shower.
