I did a gig in January and still have not been paid! John Barth is totally unprofessional. Would never recommend working with RED Model Management.

Shot with few models and had an amazing experience. I will suggest this agency to any photographers who are starting or established.
I have been around and know good people when I see them.. You will find them at RedNYC!!!! Always People First!
I was told people in New York are rude, but the one receptionist iceboat with at this agency prove everyone RIGHT!!! He hung up on mE after I finished my first question and cut me off for the second question and hung up rudely . He is such a waste of breath and air! Please do not go with this agency. And from the reviews I have seen, they are douche bags
They steal images to make money for themselves. Very egotistical most of the bookers. Nothing special, just a waste of your time.
This is what an agency should be about. People. Went in for a casting call and doubt I got it, but they were super chill. I was expecting attitude but it went smooth. Not at all what I expected and they have great models.
Great agency with very professional model managers.
Unprofessional at all , i would give 0 stars if i could !!
I've worked with Red as a casting director for about 10 years now and have always been impressed by their models -- they've got a very diverse board, a surprisingly low turn-over for bookers (bookers tend to move a ton) and the fact that they are a family-run operation.
Ok this is one of, NYC finest and most professional agency, so there for its great! and in reality they represent MODELS who are beautiful and professional and can book there work! Of course they wont be interested if your not model type! looks, sizes! Yeah sorry to break it to you but, there not going to sign you because its your dream to model! This is business at the end of the day! not a non profit organization! This is the real world, honey! And seeing that you left bad reviews for half of New York agencies, tells me your a hectic person who is hard headed and believes they have what it takes to model! But in reality you don't! because no agency will sign you! believe me Amy, not trying to be rude! but if all these agencies had no interest in you! then you can see why! Good luck and find another Career or hobby! :)
I have worked with the great team and models at Red Model Management. The employees work very hard as do the models. The modeling industry is very competitive which means that they focus on building the success of select talent.
Ignore Amy's review, see her other reviews: she's been spamming other managements with probably fake stories she made up like this one
So I just felt like I personally need to do this. Because preconceived notions gave me a bad impression and this agency really doesn t deserve that. Since last fall, I ve been interested in RED. I wasnt looking around for an agency that would take me but for an agency that I could work towards as well. Like a goal agency. I tried a few times and wasn t successful but I never gave up. Red has always had some really concrete faces and they also build a lot of great models. As I was doing my research, I obviously came across the reviews here because one of my model friends told me to look the reviews up. The negative reviews only bothered me because I am a dark skinned black girl and in this industry you can be casted away or simply just go unnoticed. Going into offices had always been a weird experience for me. As well as I carry myself, I m never really welcomed with a smile and reading these reviews made me feel like going into the office would be just another not so great experience. I went in and I was greeted by just the nicest girl and a freaking puppy! I didn t feel the weight of the room at all. I felt so comfortable before I even got to speak with an agent. The agent I spoke with sat me down and asked about ME. Which is rare, I had the opportunity to talk about myself and my goals and my career and I ve never done that at an agency office before. I just felt like something positive needed to come up on this page. I feel like regardless of whether the reach out to me or not this was just a good experience for me to have as a young model. It was really encouraging, I even forgot my swimsuit bottom and was still comfortable enough in the office to offer to take my swim headshots in my underwear LOL. Long story short, Red does an amazing job catering to potential models. I m so happy that i was able to get such a positive experience from one of my dream agencies. I feel like I can walk into any agency and be okay now.
Very bad experience. Professionalism was missing. Red hair woman who was running the open call was very rude. Treated everybody awfully. There are much better agencies (VNY or New York Model Management.)
As casting assistant, I have worked with Red and their models on countless occasions. What I always appreciate about them is the diversity of their board and their friendly, family-run company feel.
They definitely had a period last year where they had some difficult bookers on their team. This year, however, they have gotten it right. Great, kind, personable team of bookers, and some amazing new talent, to boot!
What I notice about a lot of the bad reviews on here is that they are from aspiring models who did not get signed. It is very disappointing not to get what we want, and it's easy to want to lash out.
In this industry, however, we all have to understand that it takes several 'nos' to yet to a 'yes'. If one agency says 'no' it just means you're not the right fit for them. Keep trying, stay motivated, stay positive and don't take rejection personally!
Been with Red for coming on 3 years. Started off on the citizen board and then moved to main board. I got turned down 2 times by the and was with other agencies before. Point being best decision was to keep coming back to Red, they push you, drive you and don t sugar coat anything. If anyone has a bad review it s because they were turned down and not signed instead of being angry and write bad reviews try and better yourself, then try again
Closed minded individuals. Strictly judged me based on what I had on and not on my capabilities or skill as a model. Their lose.
It's been almost 1 year since I signed with Red and moved to NYC. I could not be happier with my choice. Every person on the team has made me feel supported like a family member would. I am very grateful to be apart of the team/family, and I am excited for what lies ahead.
Red has a great team that works really hard. People don't get your feelings hurt when agents pass on you. It's a business and very competitive.
I went in there and the lady was just very rude and disrespectful to me and my mom she didn't even have the decency to say hello, she was just miserable and she asked for my pictures and I gave them to her and she was just flipping them over like she didn't care she just had a bad attitude and then she was like no were not interested in you. And she said your not what were looking for and that's it she didn't even give an explanation. I would call that agency unprofessional.
Amy forget get what this last review said. See what you have to improve in yourself and then go and make it happen.
Sometimes people don't have the best day because there is so much work to do. Don't take it personally and just make it go right. You can do anything you set your mind on. It just takes presistance
Just wanted to get a feel for different agencies and man oh man did I get a feel from this one ...the lady I mean girl or whatever she was didn't even bother to look at my portfolio automatically said I'm good for commercial only lol I mean that's fine but my competition wasn't much just stick figure dudes not even over 130 lol ewwww cmon anyways glad they turned me down or else I would've turned myself down VNY is wayyyy better look me up unique_nate
