Very nice lunch at Red Eye Cafe. I had the grilled chicken with mozzarella and pesto on a beautifully toasted bread. Coffee was delicious, service great. What else do you need for a nice lunch?

Friendly service and great food. This is a popular spot to eat with a friend or grab some coffee read a newspaper (online, of course). My favorite is their ham and brie sandwich with orange marmalade, and their brunch menu is unique and delicious. I don't drink coffee, and still love this place!

Our offices have recently moved to Montclair and the RedEye had become somewhat of an office go to for a sit down lunch. The food is good, consistent if not a tad pricey, but hey, we're in Montclair. I do wish they had fries but I appreciate that they aren't necessary to have a good meal.

This is, without a doubt, the best brunch spot in all of Montclair. The biggest challenge is getting in on weekends. The restaurant opens up at 9 AM, so you should try to be there at that time to ensure a spot on a Saturday or Sunday. Show up anytime after 9:30 AM and you run the risk of waiting up to 45 minutes for a seat.

That said, 45 minutes is well worth it for the feast that awaits you. Everything on the menu is fantastic. I m a huge fan of their cold brew coffee, sludge, and their cappuccino. Beyond drinks, the French toast is divine. It s covered and strawberries and adorned with their homemade cream. The omelettes are fluffy and gigantic. I m also a huge fan of the broccoli frittata sandwich that s available on weekdays.

The staff and service is also excellent. They do their best to make you feel at home and never rush you out. The only other negative is that there tends to be a lot of table squatters working on weekdays which makes it hard to sometimes get a seat.

Located right by the Walnut Street train station, you can find parking on all the side streets leading towards Walnut Street. Just remember to feed the meters or you will get a ticket. Even better, you can walk a block to the farmer s market in the spring and summer to walk off your meal.

This place is fantastic. I wanted a healthier option so I opted for scrambled eggs with kale and gruyere, with multigrain toast and fruit salad. Wow. It was fantastic. Excellent coffee too. And totally reasonable prices. I tried my buddy's huevos rancheros and they were pretty money as well. Wait staff was great, really friendly. Liked the ambience of the place as well. 5 stars out of 5 stars, would come again!

My last post from RedEye was 2 yrs ago and it wasnt a good one. Unfortunately not much has changed

I don't know what it is, I just get crappy food and drink here. I last visited a few weeks ago for a cup of coffee with a friend. I asked for a cortado and was given a latte. Sucked.

Barista had no training..... Lovely.

Great location nifty setting but terrible execution and clearly no training.

Red Eye Cafe is a chic spot that serves up the most incredible Vanilla Chai Latte in Montclair. Their Ham, Brie and marmalade sandwich is a must for lunch! Their croissants come from the Balthazar Bakery in the NYC and they cant be beat!

Pretty cute, hipster brunch spot. The wait wasn't bad at all on a Sunday afternoon (about 10 minutes) despite it being pretty small and crowded.

Their drip coffee is decent but I wasn't a fan of the meal that I got; Green Eggs and Ham. It was incredibly bland, in my opinion, and even adding mounds of hot sauce and ketchup did not help at all. The combination of ingredients in the eggs definitely has potential (I got it because it sounded really good) but they definitely need to experiment with adding more flavor.
