We did the 'Overnight Agra Tour' and loved every bit of it! Our guide Shehnaz is an outstanding young woman, who gave us lots and lots of information, was super friendly and loves her job! We can highly recommend the tour with a details included. Thanks for two great days in Agra/Vrindavan/Mathura!

We just finished our full day tour (morning slum and afternoon city sightseeing tour in a private car). Having read Shantaram (like probably all westerners who travel to India!), I was inspired to see the slum but also conscious of being a voyeuristic foreigner. So going through Reality Tours who, via their sister company, reinvest 80% of their profits back into the slum definitely felt like the right option and we really weren't disappointed. The guide and driver collected us from our hotel, and showed us a few landmarks en route to the slum. Our guide, Nil, was really informative and engaging. The tour would easily dispel some preconceptions of a 'slum' and would be even suitable for your children. For lunch we went to the vegetarian restaurant recommended by the tour, which was simple but tasty and 3 courses for 350 rupees. It's worth noting that if the tour participants go to this venue for lunch, the guide and driver get their lunch paid by Reality Tours. However if you decided to go elsewhere, they need to pay for their own lunch. So we would encourage future participants to invite their guide and driver to this veggie restaurant for sure! The rest of the afternoon was a whistle-stop tour of some other interesting spots of the city, with social/political/local history commentary from Nils. He loves his city so his enthusiasm was infectious. We're back in the city in a few weeks so might sign up for the street food tour, which I'm sure will be equally fun!

Nice tour yet we regret the "speed". We felt a bit like robots having to move on... little to time to pause, look, speak, enjoy. And the tour ended and hour early, so would have been nice to go at a slower pace.

Ok

I would point out a few things:
- Sassoon Docks isn't open between May-October, therefore this is not part of the tour during these months.
- You may get saddle sore :)
- Prepare yourself for a delicious breakfast at the end of the tour!

The Dharavi Tour with Reality Tours and Travel was one of the first thing I did once landed in Mumbai. I couldn't imagine a better way to start to explore this incredible city. It was a unique opportunity to have a look at the "Real India", plus a great way to donate with dignity rather than charity.

I really liked the tours!
I think the streetfood tour in absoloutely must- do for everybody visiting Mumbai for the first time. I got introduced to delicous food that I've never seen before (and probably wouldn't have tried by own) and to several very cool areas in Mumbai! The guides were super friendly and we had a lot fun together!
... I've recommended this tour to a lot of my friends and everybody really loved it! A year after my first visit to Mumbai I came back on the tour and got again all this amazing food!

The highlights of our visit to Mumbai were the tours we went on with Reality Tours. Each one was better than the next - from the Dharavi and bike tours to the evening food tour. We have told everyone we know that a trip to Mumbai is not complete without a Reality Tour!

I went on the bicycle tour in Mumbai and absolutely loved it. It was an amazing way to see the city and its culture. I would recommend that anyone traveling to Mumbai go on this tour. Monaj was a great tour guide, he knew so much about the city and was very fun to hang out with. Overall it was an amazing experience.

We went on three tours with RT&T while in Mumbai. Our group was very diverse (10 to 76) and we were all very happy. The bike tour was a great way to start the day and the street food tour a good way to end it. Our guides were very helpful and kind when one of the older members of our group was a bit overwhelmed by navigating the traffic on the food tour. Highly recommend for adventurous families (tweens and older best) or friends.

Words cannot describe how amazing this company is. I ve done their bike tour many times, slum tour and many others in the past. I always recommend them to friends who visit Mumbai. The guides are so well informed and go above and beyond to show you the best of the city. You will see a completely different side to Mumbai which other tour companies struggle to show. Reality T&T made me fall in love with Mumbai (so much so that I live there now!).

Additionally, I was very fortunate to spend time with Reality Gives. Their mission is really admirable and they do fantastic work in Dharavi. Whenever you book a tour you can be sure that your money is going to support the community in the most empowering ways.

I would really encourage you to make sure you include a tour with Reality when you visit Mumbai. Whichever tour you choose you are guaranteed to have the most amazing time.

Unforgettable life lesson

Going to dhavari with our guide Jitu was a great life experience. I loved the kids and I loved seeing that working people. But at the same time it's a feeling of helplessness can't help anymore

I've taken the Dharavi tour twice and I would not be exaggerating in saying it was one of the most eye-opening experiences I've ever had. It exposed me to a whole new sector of society that I had only read about and completely changed my perceptions of what life in the slums is like. It was also very well-organized and the tour guides were very knowledgeable. It's a must for anyone traveling to India.

We did the Dharavi tour and the street food tour. Guides are friendly, knowledgeable and overall great. No food poisoning from the street food tour, not even for those among us who have delicate stomachs! The food is AMAZING. Get the pistachio kulfi. Eat everything, but not too much at first as the food tour is packed with food, and you don't want to lose your appetite for the later stuff. Buy a leather wallet or bag at the Dharavi leather store. We bought wallets and a water buffalo leather women's bag -- a steal for quality leather. Everyone is happy with the purchases.

This is the best way to see "the real Mumbai". Wear sneakers, no open-toed sandals as you'll step on/into random stuff (I stepped on a mouse, oops). Women should wear capris or pants and loose-fitting tops for their own comfort as people will stare. Nothing to get testy about, as the streets are totally safe anyway. No one bothers you and the guides pay great attention to everyone's well being. 100% recommend to everyone! Good for older children too who can keep up with the crazy pace of the city. Don't forget to tip your guide generously! They don't ask you to but don't be a jerk, it costs you almost nothing.

Also -- this organization is legit. One of our guides was in-training. He was educated through one of Reality Gives' (Reality Tours' nonprofit organization) community/youth empowerment centers, where he learned English, etc. before he began working for Reality Tours. And he was instilled with a bunch of ambition to study further and go to university. Talk about a real success story.

We've just finished the Mumbai cycle your. It's was brilliant, it's an early start to beat the traffic. The guide was lovely and knew his stuff, we also had a second guide helping us with the traffic. The scheduled stops are fantastic. Well done guys on the perfect tour.

What a fantastic initiative! We chose Reality Tours to get to experience the city we call home now for a couple of years and this has been a great choice. Not only do they give back to society, they form part of it. We have done 3 tours with them so far and will be back for more. Passionate guides make it so cool to tour with them! They really know the city and truly respect the people living in there. Don t think twice, go with Reality!

Reality Tours and Travel is a very serious agency. The "sunrise" Mumbai by bike tour was very interesting and safe. Biking is a very original and (surprisingly) appropriate way to discover Mumbai. Groups are small (10 max), which is good. The guides were nice, helpful and speak a proper english with few accent (easy to understand!). I totally recommend !

We did three tours with Reality in February: the Dharavi walking tour (it was just my colleague and I, with Balaji guiding us), the morning bike ride (probably about 8 of us in the group), and the street food tour (again just my colleague and I with the tour guide). They were all exceptional. All the tour guides we had were from Dharavi, which was amazing. Balaji was so patient with our questions, and the way he interacted with the people we were strolling past in Dharavi was incredible. I felt very privileged and like we stuck out in the most obnoxious, touristy way possible, but Balaji made us feel very welcome in his home, and we realized Dharavi is so much more than a slum; it is a community. After the tour they drove us to our next stop for lunch, dropping us off, which was very nice. The next morning we did the bicycle tour, which should go down on the list of life's biggest adventures. It was terrifying once rush hour traffic started, but it was incredible to see the city wake up and to visit everyday places like a fish market, temple, cow pen, flower market, food stands, and more. The last tour we did was the street food tour; we got to take a train during rush hour to Chowpatty beach, tried several stands there, and then took a taxi to the Muslim district for more food. The guide was very knowledgeable and my only complaint was that by that point we'd already heard much of the info before on our previous two tours, but that wasn't his fault. All three guides were incredibly kind, interesting people, and I cannot recommend Reality Tours enough if you want to see the real Mumbai, not just the few touristy spots. The tours are amazing!

Fantastic Experience - a fun on-the-ground food tour of Mumbai. Great food, and fun traveling around to several different neighborhoods exploring and enjoying the local fare - highly recommended.

We booked the Dharavi and City tour with reality tours & travel. Our guide was Janna and our driver was Govinda. The tour lasted the whole day and was the best tour we ever booked. Starting with the guided tour through Dharavi, going further with the visit of many beautiful places and attractions, and ending with even doing a train ride.
The guide Janna gave us a lot of very interesting insights and knew the answer to every question we had. Furthermore his outstanding gentleness made the tour to a highlight of our Mumbai visit.
Thank you very much for the perfect day!
I can really recommend the company with these two guys as guide and driver!

The tours here are worth every penny and more.

They tour the slum with the respect it needs and also give all proceeds to good causes in the slum.

A really eye opener and one I look forward to revisiting when I am next in Mumbai.

Sure, it is good to get a general idea of the living conditions in the slums. However, the slum tour is a sterilized version of what exists. Also, you will get no opportunities to talk to any people--it almost seems like those people on the tour path have been discouraged to interact with those on the tour. Lastly, I am skeptical of the organization's claims that they provide support to the community. We did go to a room where activities occur, but there were no people there. We saw no actual computers--just a room with the word "computers" on the door.

Went on the Colaba walking tour and night your yesterday, can't recommend it enough. Really friendly knowledgeable guides, great fun, and a bargain too. Good variety of places that we would not have visited normally.
