This is an IMMACULATE hotel!! The valet men were so sweet and professional as well as the front desk staff. The outside of the hotel is just as beautiful as the inside! The jacuzzi suite was very spacious, beds were very comfortable. Overall a great stay, 10/10 recommend :)

This is my favorite hotel in KC. GORGEOUS ACCOMMODATIONS. Valet parking. Chaz on the Plaza (Bananas Foster French Toast, do it!) Is amazing. They have great specials, too. Right on the Plaza, it is romantic and near tons of great shops and food. I would never stay anywhere else. The service is impeccable.

Great hotel for a weekend/anniversary getaway to t...

Great hotel for a weekend/anniversary getaway to the city/plaza. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary in March and we did that almost 20 years ago as well right after our daughter was born and my parents babysat for the night when we were still living in Hawaii but came for a visit.

The staff is always super helpful and courteous and the rooms are very comfortable. It's a great place to stay while you wander the plaza and shop/eat/drink where ever strikes your fancy, which is exactly what we do.

You also are a very short drive to Crown Center which we do sometimes to catch the streetcar along the downtown corridor and explore/drink/eat our way down to the river market for dinner or a late lunch and still get back to the plaza for the afternoon or dinner.

The restaurant on the first floor/basement is really good as well. They have an active jazz /live music scene at night and we had a great breakfast there on the morning after our overnight stay.

It's a great old KC landmark and you should definitely plan a short staycation there. (Parents like us, I'm looking in your direction)

Thank you for a nice weekend. The free room upgrade was appreciated also. I did notice in our 2 stops to Chaz that we were given a very small wine list, but their website list a much larger selection. Please let everyone see the larger wine menu, you can't sell it if they can't see it! Otherwise a very pleasurable stay on the 9th floor, Thank You!

This hotel has so much charm and style! It was a great escape for us to celebrate my husband's birthday. We took advantage of both room service and going to dine at the Chaz. Both types of service were excellent. The walk-ability of the Country Club Plaza is an added bonus.

We have stayed at the majority of the nicer hotels in the Plaza and Downtown area several times in the last few years.
I have work experience and practical education in Hotel Management and value guest service as the most important part of the overall "experience". I am not the easiest guest to impress yet have a balanced view of both sides of the coin. The property is nice and clean and well maintained. The rooms could use some updating and still preserve the old school vibe that we like about The Rafael.
The Chaz restaurant on property was very nice, served quality food and again the redeeming quality was most definitely the service.

We have been to this hotel numerous times and we like to come visit every year on our anniversary. It's the perfect time of year because the Plaza lights are on and you can enjoy the view. You can imagine our frustration when we try to open the balcony door and were unsuccessful getting onto the balcony.

Our family spent Christmas 2020 at The Raphael and we loved every minute! Beautiful suite overlooking The Plaza lights, the hotel was beautifully decorated making it even more magical for our family, and the service was superb! Thank you to everyone at The Raphael for an incredible stay- from the handwritten note in our room welcoming us to Rick s brief history of the hotel- we had a wonderful time and will be back!

There is a complimentary valet service and complimentary parking. The staff was very and helpful. Rooms were nice with all of the typical high-end amenities. Very close to the plaza with a wide variety of dinner and shipping options.

The Raphael hotel is our favorite place to stay in Kansas City. This last visit was enjoyable, as always. Dinner at the Chaz memorable. Would recommend both the hotel and restaurant without qualification.

Amazing experience, super personalized and the hotel staff went above and beyond. My husband and I plan to go here every year together. Food was great, room was beautiful and clean, valet was a great perk and walking distance for us to go out without worrying about driving. Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I booked a room at the Raphael for our anniversary. They went out if their way to make sure it was an enjoyable and perfect stay for us. The location is perfect, close to shops and restaurants, but without the noise. Great staff and the restaurant was delicious.

Beautiful rooms, modern style decor overlooking the Country Club Plaza. Bar service is attentive and friendly. Housekeeping has an unfortunate tendency to remove all of the provided toiletries every day. Our suite had nowhere to actually hang a towel next to the bath, a pet peeve of mine.

This place was great. The staff was great and the spa package was well worth it. In room massage and room service breakfast was great. The Chaz restaurant is listed as "trendy" in the description and that is my only complaint. The restaurant looks like it got stuck in 1975 and refused to move on. The food is good but there are plenty of places in the Plaza where you can eat better for less. Over all the stay was amazing and we will definitely return.

The service was horrible. The waiter talked to me and took my order as he walked past me! They tried to give me the next tables order and when they brought mine it was wrong! I don't know, maybe it was an off night for them.

The valet was great, though.

The Raphael hotel in Kansas City went above and beyond our expectations!!! A mistake occurred and they not only fixed the problem, but they insured we had an outstanding experience in every way possible. It s a beautiful hotel, great location, professional and gracious management, outstanding service, excellent restaurant!! If we could give a 10-star rating, we would! We highly recommend the Raphael for your hotel choice in Kansas City on the Plaza!!!!!

The staff was amazing... But I don't know why anyone would want to spend 3 hundred on a hotel that doesn't offer breakfast, charges you for parking and the ice machine is only on the second floor. The room was as nice as a holiday Inn but 3x the price..

Came up to Kansas City for the weekend and wasn t sure where to stay. We chose The Raphael after seeing it is a Marriott, and we usually stay at Marriott as the beds are predictably comfortable. We were sadly disappointed. We could feel the springs from the mattress through the pillow top , we couldn t get the temperature in the room cool enough to get comfortable. I had requested extra down pillows...didn t deliver, and the elevator was broken. The location is great, though!

Charming vintage, boutique hotel. All the service was 5-star and our room was clean and quite. The reason for the 4-star rating is the size of the bathroom and the finishes - both could use a refresh.

Highly recommend the add on Romance package, an excellent deal: two desserts from Chez, breakfast in bed or in resturant + a bottle of wine, box of shower and body oils, fine chocolates, engraved picture frame in the room upon arrival and rose petals turn down service. I am not sure if it was included or just extra customer service but they also upgraded us to a king suite facing the plaza. The extra space added an extra dose of luxary and relaxation. Also don't miss out on the great robes in the closet!

4.5 stars because some of the upholstery and finishings were slightly dated or needed a good cleaning (lobby and elevator mostly), but with the customer service and add on Romance package I couldn't give under 5 stars.

Very nice property. Quint, historic and a lovely setting. A bit pricey for the quality of the rooms, but location can't be beat - just steps to the Plaza and all of the hustle and bustle there, or you can dine at Chaz on site and never leave the property.

Stayed here for a few nights to catch opening day at The K. The service was on point and the rooms are amazing. Definitely an old school feel. Walking distance from The Plaza, many places to eat and shop.

Hubby and I loved this place until our December visit, room wasn't ready when we arrived, restaurant couldn't get us seated until 8:15....we arrived at 5:30 lots of empty tables open. We made the best of it ordering room service, steak was overcooked badly, burnt asparagus, shrimp and grits were watery and our cheese platter had soggy bread with it. Impressed I was not My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and this was a total disappointment.

The hotel is in a very nice area and the exterior and interior of the hotel are nicely decorated in the common areas. There is a restaurant on location called Chaz that was very delicious for dinner. I m less then thrilled about the rooms themselves. They are very dated and small. Surrender the comfort of in room amenities to use a good location to stay in Kansas City.

I had a great time with my boyfriend. He took me here as to celebrate my birthday. He originally wanted the presendential suite but unfortunately, they were all out. Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable time. The Chaz restaurant was superb. Jazz music playing, good dessert. I did not get a full meal. I just wanted dessert at that time. Everything was fantastic.

One of the many luxuries we have in the Country Club Plaza. Classic, charming, and classy. A true boutique hotel. Not cheap to stay in, but that is sort of the point. This is the kind of place you go to on special occasions. Its restaurant inside is quite good, too, which you can dine at without having to stay overnight.
