I recently bought a RainVac unit along with the electric conversion hose and power nozzle to fit my D3C model, which I’ve owned since the early 90s. I had picked up the 4Qt basin back in 2016 but never got around to using it because I was convinced my old upright was handling my light carpets just fine. With two new dogs arriving, I wanted to make sure all odors from my two senior dogs (who recently passed away) were completely gone from the rugs. After just three passes with the power nozzle, the water was pitch black! I’m still getting dark water as I shampoo high-traffic areas, so I’ll keep going until it runs clear. This attachment works wonders on high, tight-pile carpets, and I plan to use it much more often now. The only hiccup was that the instructions were just pictures, but I easily found a helpful video online. The technical support team at RainVac was great at helping me figure out exactly what I needed, and my order from their Hagerstown-based service arrived super fast.

I’m holding out hope that these new bushings will hold up for another 22 years of weekly use, just like the originals.
