Friendliest little ski area in NZ -where Olympic racers train!!

Fantastic ski area, very friendly staff, nice and close to Blenheim and Nelson.

Amazing place to have fun need some improvement in the road I know it hasn't been changed in 15 years

Very handy to Nelson and great for the kids and adults

Nice and close to the top of the south areas of population. Eg Nelson and Blenheim .
No sking snow yet in 2019 but posted photos of entrance road and sign.
Watch out for ice and gravel now being put of road to give grip for vehicles.

Easy to get to, great instructors, very friendly staff. Great for kids and beginners.

this is the best ski field I have ever been to
last year it was my first year skiing and I was amazed you have the most amazing staff defiantly coming again tomorrow on the 6 of the 9 2016

Great ski field in a unique spot. Often has better snow and non of the crowds of the fields further south.

Cool ski area, not the best for beginners. No chair lift... nice spot.

Wow! Nice 3 tear ski slopes. Ranges from Novice to Pro. Rental, Cafeteria and plenty of parking space. Awesome place to brake away.

This has to be one of the jewels in the crown of the top of the south. Amazing facility so is to both Nelson and Blenheim and an easy day out in the mountains. The road is not as challenging as far as back country mountain roads go as it is maintained daily during the winter snow season. Must carry Chains. Daily costs for lift passes is OK for a great day out and the mountain offers a wide range of groomed and off piste trails to cater for a wide range of skill levels. Love it.

Small but quiet. A hidden gem, especially when there's fresh snow.

One of the best places to visit in New Zealand and specially in Nelson region. Nice place to learn skiing or to practice it. Amazing views around and very good staff and services.

Fantastic family field. Even in not so great weather, staff were great and kids still had an awesome time.

Went week before official Opening, Still awesome time, felt like a VIP.
Still learning so only having the "Baby slops" suited us fine... grate time to learn if your a lil self conscious.
All the staff were amazing, even helped us out get back down to the carpark. Legends.

Its not a big ski field and it doesn't have the facilities that others do, but for the family it is great.

Great little getaway. A bit of a mission to get up there if you want to have the flexibility to come and go as you please. But otherwise great. The cafe appears to be run by Germans and the food is real nice.

Powder days at rainbow canyon be beat.

A great little ski field. Staff super helpful, cheerful and friendly. Snow conditions were excellent and pistes were well prepared. Work needed on catering facilities. A picnic shed is need so to move all those people who hog the Cafe seating while consuming their own food and beverages out of the Cafe so that those purchasing food there can eat there. Once that's sorted Rainbow will be almost perfect. Highly recommend for a visit.

If there are other skiing options, I would never choose this place, but no. When too many people come together and there is no equipment, the size here may not be enough
