I stay here everytime im in regina, its always great.
If you're looking for a hotel with fast Wi-Fi or a business centre with the latest features then Hotel Saskatchewan isn't the right place for you. However, if you're looking for one of the province's best locations in terms of ambiance (it overlooks Victoria Park), history (it was built in 1927), decor (the architecture is 20th century but much of it has been updated). Overall it's highly recommended.
The fine details make this hotel one of the most incredible experiences. Each time I've stayed has been wonderful. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Coming into our room all the lights were on, it was warm at the perfect temperature, there was a delicious tray of treats! Amazing!!
Really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are spacious, and the service is fantastic.
I called hotel to ask for the new spa's number(as it wasn't listed yet). Front desk very short with me and refused to help in anyway. Very shameful!
Beautiful old hotel. Professional events and wedding are a staple here. The food is great and the decor is timeless.
Nothing to complain about regarding this hotel. The location is great if you are visiting town as it is within walking distance to almost everything.
Beautiful historic hotel. Huge suites and rooms. Great lobby bar - make sure you have a smoked old fashion.
The Hotel Saskatchewan went above and beyond our expectations for our spring wedding. All the staff we interacted with during our planning was outstanding. Jaki helped handle the million and one questions and logistics leading up to our wedding. She was always helpful, prompt to reply, and extremely easy to work with. Planning our big day was certainly made easier having Jaki by our side.
When our wedding day arrived there was no snags, issues or problems to deal with, the best thing a bride could ask for. We were given a complimentary upgrade to our room and the staff at the hotel was so helpful with carting all our items up to the room. We held our rehearsal dinner in the Library Room at the hotel and had an amazing meal with helpful staff. Everything was well prepared and anything we needed was quickly provided.
Our wedding reception was flawless. The meal was incredible and the buffet offered had options for everyone, there wasn't a single item that wasn't delicious. Following dinner the desserts provided by the hotel were outstanding and they all seemed to be snatched up in no time! The Regency Ballroom space is beautiful, we couldn't have asked for a better backdrop for our wedding. The bartending and cashier services were also great.
Midnight lunch was a huge hit, we would definitely recommend the perogies and sausage option, we had guests talking about it for days after! The hotel was even able to quickly provide more servings on a moment's notice since it was such a big hit.
We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding and hope that we are able to host more functions here in the future with their incredible staff. Thank you Jaki and Staff at the Hotel Saskatchewan, you truly made our wedding day the best day of our lives.
Beautiful hotel and first class service. Not only does the history of this hotel make it appealing, but the decor, ambience, cozy rooms, great food and restaurants accompany the elegant class of this hotel.
Everything consistently up to snuff or better, with the one notable exception of the food service which can border on pricey yet lack-luster and sometimes even downright lower-end pub (within a certain range of items one should probably avoid ordering any way, such as mixed appetizer platters, which on average disappoint, no matter the establishment where ordered)
Given the atmosphere and quality, I tend to go there for the lounge / bar regularly even when not staying there. That said, the rooms are very nice and the prices are reasonable, given the quality.
The lounge digs are comfortable and border on old-world (splendor... unless you've actually been, in which case its an obviously watered down knock-off).
The servers and general staff are quite consistently brisk, efficient and well versed in the etiquette of high-quality service standards.
As well, the whisky selection is fine (e.g. Lagavulin and other fine offerings always available), the premium shots are often generous (and never, never under-poured), the draught beer is fresh , the selection is good and the lines well maintained. Add to that the fact that despite all these advantages and being located in a top-drawer hotel, the liquor prices are virtually the same anywhere else one might choose to go, including the many dives around town.
The closest alternative lounge/bar is O'Hanlons up the street, which is truly awful... The draught beer there is definitely watered or something and is totally flat as a result... it always tastes weak and one can slam down the glass without creating a single bubble. The whiskey is also watered or something and based on the flavour of shots ordered neat on 3 separate occasions, it is difficult not to suspect that cheap brands are used to fill premium brand bottles based on the expectation the clientelle simply cannot tell the difference under the low light and stench of stale beer.
Very enjoyable one-night stay. Great staff and service and the hotel itself is very user-friendly. The barber shop is simply stunning, and in-room amenities were more than adequate. Look forward to my next visit.
Great looking historical hotel. More importantly, best shoeshine in Canada!
Great historic hotel but the rooms have no privacy. I could hear the guest next door all night.
Beautiful, comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff - every one from front desk to room service to house keeping. I always enjoy my stays at Hotel Sask.
Great bar with surprisingly affordable selection on the menu also.
Went to the hotel for the construction trade show. Food and service was really good.
Great stay, well appointed rooms, excellent service
We went for Sunday Brunch, it s good quality food. They use to have a lot more options but not anymore. For $35 I would say it s good to try it for once!
Went for some drinks and it was superb. They make an excellent smoked old fashioned.
Excellent Hotel, very nice rooms, clean, friendly staff, restaurant is great. Parking is convenient.
Beautiful, posh hotel which was dog friendly (for a $50 fee), in the city centre. Parking available for a $18 fee, as well.
Was there for a wedding. Drinks were $8.50. Wine had to be asked for.
Hotel Sask hosts our Christmas party for 400 people every year and it's always great. Food is delicious and the hotel is always beautifully decorated for Christmas
Loved it! Barber, spa, gym was surprisingly really good for a hotel. The lounge served very good food. Steak and eggs were great for breakfast. Room was beautiful. Definitely would go back
Giving a bad review is never easy, because #$%^ flows downhill. So I'm going to tip toe around the issues, for there are far too many to list. The problem is with the ownership & management who apparently are focused on milking this neglected golden calf and not at all on customer care.. Never mind everything that was wrong with the room.
Look, I'd definitely give it a stay for the historic value/vibe. But never, ever again.
Room was awesome. Attended a wedding and the event was amazing.
