The campus' preferred accommodation provider - Nikau Apartments - is a mean spirited, overpriced disgrace. The certification grade I received after scoring 80% A grades and outstanding reports, was a B. So if you want a grade that does not reflect the body of your work and biased tutors, then by all means come and suffer here. I have had to hire an outside body at extra expense to grade my papers properly. My advice: CHOOSE A DIFFERENT education provider.

Booked online services with our business and stopped paying invoices without any explanation or cancellation. Does not respond to dunning emails or debt collector. I would not recommend to do business with them.

Had the worst year of my life studying with NMIT and feel the time of Reform couldn't come any sooner! With the experience received and did not receive in my learning over the course of the year and the gross negligence in management at NMIT when it came to resolving simple issues which affected the classes learning, all faith was lost. I feel left out of pocket and wasted a year of my life with detrimental effects for my future. Let's hope the Reform of Vocational Education will purge the management which are scrambling to save themselves. Tread wisely as to your expectations as they failed to meet our entire courses obligations.

Giving 2 stars is generous. I already had a degree before studying here, so i have some reference to higher education. My name was misspelled and it took 18 months to get it corrected, the course was average at best with a range of good, to grossly narcissistic (I m looking at you David Brent!), to down right incompetent tutors. It is really ran as an cash cow for internationals (NMIT code for Chinese). At the start of one of my better modules, the tutor looked around the room and said, great no internationals, i can pitch the content a bit higher . On reflection, that was highly racist, but at best, it is an appalling way to set and standard of delivery. That was genuinely one of the better tutors. I chose to stay in Nelson as it was my home at the time, but it was a huge compromise to take a course at NMIT.

I am currently studying towards a Diploma in Civil Engineering, I'm loving the hands on approach to the coarse. It's really helpful having smaller class sizes as your tutor is always on hand to help you when needed.
The smaller class sizes also means you have plenty of opportunities to go to events and get yourself infront of future potential employers. This puts you on a level playing field when competing with university students for job opportunities. At the end of the day It's not about what you know, it's about who you know.
