While the parking lot is rather small and I was full, the hike itself was enjoyable. Some very great views!

One of my favorite places close to Longmont. Great for a quick hike or mountain biking.
Amazing space, lovely atmosphere. If you want to grill, bring your own. The grill is padlocked.
Wonderful area...fairly easy hiking with views of our awesome panoramas and the prairie dog sighting delightful...
Nice place to ride horses, bikes or hike, dogs on leashes allowed. Watch out for
Nice place to hang out if you don't wanna drive too far
Not to rough to "hike" and beautiful scenery. You can hear the occasional wolf howl and see other wildlife.
Two trails to choose from, both are very scenic and easy to moderate difficulty. Bathroom facility in parking lot. Dog friendly too.
Great views and crowded with many happy hikers and bikers.
Easy/Moderate trail. Awesome veiw, but trail can get VERY muddy. Don't go after the snow melts or a big rain storm. It's a regular trail I hike.
Beautiful scenery amazing trails to walk. The Rocky mountainness is really great exercise. Nice views from the peaks.
Beautiful wilderness area. Unique foothills views to the South and captivating rock formations everywhere. Dogs must be on leashes for their own safety- definitely a rattlesnake area.
Large parking area, easy to find spots early. Well maintained trails. Good signage throughout the trail network.
It's an beautiful view and GREAT experience with family and friends! Love it!
Wide open trail. Not many trees. Good trail for taking a dog on hike.
Casual hike (not steep), excellent view and lots of cute looking prairie dogs that don t seem scared to step in front of a moving vehicle.
They say there s quite a bit of wild life that can be spotted here. The biggest concern for me were the rattle snakes (not a fan at all). Good thing I didn t encounter any during my hike. Over all it was a very pleasant experience.
Watch for raddle snakes. Never seen them myself but I've talked to many people who've seen them even on the trails
Love going to rabbit mountain to walk the dog. Beware it can be really hot mid day. There is little shade. We go first thing in the morning or at dusk
Nice trail that is a moderate challenge and has some diverse scenery.
This was or first time visiting this area. It looked like there were a few short trails, which was great for our dog. The views of the open space are beautiful!
A favorite place to hike with my dog, family and friends that is a quick drive from Main Street Longmont. The trails are well marked and easy to moderate for hikers of any ability.
Great place to hike or ride your horse. Please stay on the trails.
Nice trail system, perfect for walking the dog, or an after work run/trail ride.
Not too busy. Pay attention as you hike this easy trail as I have seen an occasional snake and two bears in the past two years.
Stunning views. Great space for horse back riding or dog walks. Not overly crowded and very peaceful. One of my favorite hikes in Boulder County!
Love it here! Super easy hike! Watch out for those rattle snakes though they ain t playing !
Decent trails. High use so it's crowded. Scenery is ok.
This is a great hiking area, a lot busier than it was five years ago. It's a convenient place to get away. The trails are a great length and mild in difficulty.
Great hidden gem that has not been overly busy any time I've visited. Because it is off the main road, not many people tend to know it's here. A few different hiking areas offer different views of the area.
Beautiful easy hike! First part is steep. Levels out up top!
Awesome moderate hike, great view of mountain range around eagle loop. Very popular & currently closed M-W for elk management.
Going since I was a kid....Now I take my grandkids. We love it
It sure would be nice to have a dedicated Mountain Bike Trail somewhere in Boulder County.
Fun to do with you family especially if you have little ones with you.
Great little trail for hiking, biking and trail running. Due to sun exposure it is best in fall, winter, and spring as the trail seems to dry quickly.
I hike here all the time. Good trails and well marked. Parking is short, and most times it is full.
Holy smokes, was it ever busy when we went there! Trail was pretty rocky, once you get off the access road the single track was good, just don't go there to get away from people, especially if your mountain biking.
I took my horse for his first trail ride there and he did great. It was uncrowded and it was a really easy, nice trail
Well maintained trails, just caution you to put on sunscreen, you won't find shade on these paths!
It's an easy, beautiful little hike just outside of Longmont.
Just moved here from ohio and I must say rabbit mountain is really a hell of a place. Many trails with many great views, the drive alone is awesome! Watch out for rattle snakes tho! Came across two last time I went, seen them later during dusk-dark.
A favorite for a quick hike! Great open space and easy parking.
Super rocky trails, nice views, not too steep for an early season hike.
Dog friendly, nice open spaces. Similar to other areas of the front range though.
Beautiful hike. Very peaceful in the early evening.
Good easy hike. Parking is limited at the trailhead, getting there early is good, or evenings. Eagle wind trail is a tad less than 4 miles round trip. Little Thompson is shorter and quicker. Easy and fun hike without having to drive a long ways. Yes, there are bull and rattlesnakes summer time. Enjoy and have fun!
Underrated trails. Good stuff that's open when everything else is closed.
Quick access from Longmont, convenient and beautiful hikes, easy to moderate terrain
Pretty trail, prairie feel. Good for kids. Dogs on leash.
Peaceful and usually not crowded. Beautiful trails to walk, run, or mountain bike.
Great hiking trails and incredible scenery. Quiet and not too crowded
Best hiking in Longmont with trails of all difficulties! Fantastic views of the Rockies, but watch out! It can be a little windy! You can just picture the Bison playing in the plains below hundreds of years ago.
Absolutely beautiful hike. HIGHLY recommended. Not too steep, but still a good workout if you take it fast.
Okay for a quick hike. Bring your sunblock and water. Watch out the rattlesnakes in the summer.
Two very different choices of hikes here. One, Eagle, is a loop going through trees and other landscapes and is not so difficult. The other, Little Thompson Overlook, is more difficult because of the number of rocks you need to be aware of so that you do not fall. Overlook has a beautiful view at the end of the trail to sit, think and look out at the world. Neither are very difficult. There also happens to be a road going up between the two that is a good challenge, harder than the other two hikes, that is smoother and a real workout for those wanting a nice clean jog without the rocks.
This is the add-on needed now. Only maybe 1% of people wear a mask here. There is a sign at the entrance stating they are required but it is completely ineffective. The trail often requires people to be very close and those refusing to wear masks also refuse to move over even the tiniest bit. It is up to the 1% of responsible people to also socially distance.
Really good hikes for the whole family with great views
Good hike. I got a little lost and went on the wrong path, but it was still enjoyable and easy to do. Some hills, but not too hard for kids.
Gorgeous collection of trails located just outside of Longmont. The trails are pretty relaxed and good for novice hikers. Spectacular views of the surrounding plains and hills make this one of my favourite places for a quick hike. Patrons of these trails do a great job keeping them clean and free of debris or litter.
I loved the sunset and the over all peace and view.
Good trail walking. Friendly for dogs. Kinda small all in all but still a good place to get some fresh air.
