It's RATTLESNAKE season. I almost stepped on one laying on the path (just past the bench) to soak up some sun after 4pm yesterday. Wear protective clothing and be on the look out. I was wearing running shorts and could have run into big trouble yesterday had I been bit.

Great area, not much shade on the different trails. Great views and good area for easy mountain biking. The trails are short but have great views and are not crowded most of the time except weekends when the parking lot is often full

Probably one of the easier hikes around. If you're new to the area or a great place to take someone that isn't a advanced hiker. (Pretty easy trails, with a few hard/rocky sections) views are great, wildlife all around. I would definitely be back to hike the other trails and ride them as well.

A great place that is super close to Longmont with wonderful views. A great place to hike and mountain bike with everything from a trial you could push a wheelchair on to more technical hilly and rocky trials. My only complaint is that there's only about 10 miles worth of trail. More than most people need for walking but not a lot for mountain biking.

So beautiful in late spring! It was very green but dry and not muddy. Several kinds of wild flowers are blooming. The hiking is easy but I recommend good shoes for the rocky trails. There is a nice covered area with tables and a grill. A great place to take the pooch!

All levels of trails, beautiful scenery, dogs on leash allowed, close to town but feels remote. Also, has picnic tables and restrooms. We did a late lunch picnic and afternoon hike. Spent 2 hours exploring. Love this hiking spot!

The frontrange has so many hiking trails and this short, rocky trail would seem to not offer much above others, but the views to the west and east are always amazing. The trail is very rocky, so wear boots (or good bike tires). I see people trail run it, so perhaps I'm overly sensitive to the ankle breakers.

We love coming here for hikes with our dogs and kiddo. The loops are short and moderate, with nice views of the northern front range. It can get a little sunny with minimal shade, so bring a hat. Lots of parking at the trailhead.

Great place to hike even if there are only a few trails. Views from the trails are great and easy to traverse. There is a very nice picnic area and lots of parking. The restrooms however, are amongst the most pungent I have been in, it kind of sticks with you.

Nice, close to town hike. The loop has more shade, the lookout path is very Rocky and surprisingly looks out north. I always see deer here, often bald eagles, and today we saw a beautiful Western Tanager. Well-travelled trail with lots of dogs and some bikes.

One of my favorite short "hikes" in Boulder County. Have been coming here for ages. Some things to know. On most of the trails there is very little tree coverage meaning in the dead of Summer it can be a VERY hot walk. Keep this in mind if you're bringing your four legged buddies. There is a small covered area with a grill that I believe may be first come first serve but don't quote me. There are restrooms as well as a pretty decent amount of parking either in the lot or on the road.

Plenty of wild flowers in the spring and early summer as well as an abundance of song birds and several birds of prey including a Bald Eagle from time to time. Deer are very common as well as foxes and coyotes but they typically keep to themselves during the parks open hours. If one ever approaches you you should probably keep clear as this is uncommon behavior and the animal could be sick. Has never happened to me here but it is a possibility.

Just a PSA - Keep your pups on leash because BC Rangers AND Boulder County Sherrifs patrol the area heavily and may issue citations and as always...putting your dogs waste into a bag doesn't count as picking it up. You have to actually make it into the waste bin for that to be the case. Be a Dear and do everyone a favor and pick up after Fido won't you?

Otherwise, everyone seems to be quite friendly when you pass them either on foot, on bike, or even on horseback. Don't forget the sunscreen ;)
