Best place around for all your outdoor camping, backpacking needs. I could stay here for hours browsing this place as they have everything and lots of brands. A lot of stuff is on the floor for you to demo/see. And every know and then I score in the back with some floor models that are on sale because newer models have come out. Great staff too.

Helpful staff regarding confusion over an ordered item. There was a communication breakdown between the staff, but was corrected and remedied! I appreciate the help and care they put into it.
Great friendly staff. I love it here. I could spend all day just walking around in here. Super helpful staff that don't male you feel pressured or rushed. Great coffee area downstairs. They also have a discount area where they buy back used backpacks and sell used equipment. It's a great place and great location. Prices aren't bad compared to other places. You could probably find some stuff cheaper if you looked around a bit. But sometimes I just say screw it and support a great place like this because I want them around. Like Publix grocery vs walmart
Every time I have come to the store I am always greeted with help and kindness. The staff always find a way to make me happy or add some knowledge to my arsenal when making a decision. Never feel pressured and it shows how willing they are to make my purchase an educated one. I will avoid specifics but they do right by me in every scenario and I am proud to shop at this store even when we all know it is easy to shop online instead. There is value in coming in and making the purchase for sure! Thank you for all the help.
Large selection of all major brands in trekking apparel. The employees we spoke with were professional, knowledgeable, and eager to provide assistance. The layout of the store is multi tiered with different departments on each level. There is a coffee shop on the bottom tier. I would venture to say that the store carries nearly every trekking and camping item you could ever want or need.
I will never be doing business with quest outdoors again. I ordered a vest that came in to small so when I tried to exchange it they said they didn't have the next size up. So I said I would have to return it unfortunately and asked for a return label. They refused to supply me with one and said I had 7 days to return it or I wouldn't get my money back. In the end it cost me $30 to send the vest back. This was the first and last time I will ever order anything from them since it cost me money and I didn't get anything in return.
Top brands and great service for the outdoor enthusiast! If you want your gear to last and have a warranty, buy it here... Rock climbing and fly fishing too, along with boats and a great coffee shop.
I was one of the QO posterboys 20 years ago. I did much work in AK, however, did substantial international work as well. These folks were kind and took amazingly good care of us, as we were putting up first time routes, and drinking dead man's gin. Our catered slideshows were legendary. Thanks to the Godfather Don, and We also love and appreciate the great and indomitable Ryan. He is a super-good guy, with a fantastic retail space. I still love Quest, I made my first purchase in 1989. The business model changes with econ. The knowledge and sterling service adapts, yet doesn't change much. The core group here is golden. I have much to thank them for. Take that...!!!
Honestly, it's the only true outdoorsy shop in our area. That certainly doesn't mean it's bad, though. Far from it, in fact, as they seem bent on sharing their passion for the outdoors with everyone who walks in their door. Complete with a coffee shop in the lower level (who make a mean campfire coffee with liquid smoke) Quest really does seem to offer something for everyone in nearly every sector of the outdoors. From hiking to kayaking, bouldering to fishing, trail running to camping, Quest has it all. And what they don't have, the folks who work there have heard all about, can tell you about, and can probably order it for you.
Genuinely nice and supportive, never pushy or "salesy," they are always a great bet for some solid advice on the best pair of shoes for your ultra marathon, or when the next group is leaving for a summit of Rainier.
And unlike most places that make you feel bad for bringing your kiddo in tow, they all seem to love my little guy and smile and wave at him. Sure it's small change stuff, but that's the stuff I'm looking for if I'm going to trust you on your recommendation on pricey shoes or a couple thousand dollar summit. A genuinely place with genuine people.
(Though I would love to have a location on my side of the river...)
Quest is just another high end clothing store! There's very little, to none outdoor equipment! Don't waste your time coming here. If Quest carries the brand for looking for.... their probably out of what, you are looking for! It's a complete joke for climbing equipment and camping equipment is over priced!
Great store great people. Very knowledgeable and helpful. And prices generally compare well to most good online outdoors stores. But even better you can try on stuff and see and hold stuff so you actually know that what you are getting suits you and you have local support.
I live out of town, but I make it a point to stop in if I'm in Louisville. There isn't a store this nice anywhere near me. They keep the place very clean and they have a respectable selection of outside gear and apparel. The staff has been friendly and helpful.
I was frustrated when I moved to Louisville a few years back... only one outdoor outfitter store? But then I visited for the first time. Wow! Great selection in everything from rock climbing gear to personal watercraft to backpacks and gear to jackets and clothing. And now they have coffee too! Epic. The new location is so much bigger. The staff is always courteous and glad to help. The prices are competitive, about what you'd pay online or at REI or another such place. And now they have a rewards program too. Overall a great place to shop and my first stop for anything outdoors!!!
They have most of the best brands, and just about everything you could need for camping, hiking, and fly fishing. The staff is very helpful. They put on a lot of cool events, lectures, demos, etc. The one complaint is that their prices can be a little high (most things are priced at MSRP), but if you look for sales you can get a good deal.
The best and only outfitter in Louisville that will more than likely stock what you're looking for. They offer gear as well as casual clothing and outdoor accessories. You can find top quality gear and garments here as well as niche brands that most outdoor stores won't carry.
One of the only outdoor stores in town but they have a good variety of products and have really helpful staff. Their twice yearly warehouse sale is great
A lot of pretty, expensive stuff. Mostly clothing: I am more interested in equipment like sleeping bags, and I didn't find a big selection. But the customer service is there if you want it.
Went into the store recently with some friends to buy a significant amount of backpacking gear. We were never asked for help but instead had two employees follow us around the store like spies and stared us down the entire time. We felt so uncomfortable that we left and made our purchases online at a different store. Great selection but a really odd experience and I won't be returning.
Best outdoor outfitter in Louisville in my opinion. Has more of a West coast vibe of outdoor store, like an REI but local and much needed. The quality of the merchandise is top notch.
These guys are great. Everyone is very friendly without being pushy and the staff are knowledgable about the products or they will find another staff member who is. Support local business and go to Quest Outdoors, their customer service is top notch!
Tyler was GREAT!!! He took the time to teach us and share his years of knowledge. Can't thank him enough for helping us to fill out our wedding registry. We'll be back to Quest again soon and often!
A Louisville institution that's been seeing for as long as I can remember. Got my first ski parka there. My first SmartWool socks there. My first decent set of base layers there (capilene). Stopped in for s simple item the other day and was reminded how friendly everyone is and that it has always been there one true outdoor store in Louisville (my item was 20% off or something too, which was nice). Kinda sad memories of the book store but Quest still looks great and has quality gear. Shop local!
Quest always has what I need in stock. The staff is what really makes this place great, though. Friendly and knowledgeable with real world outdoors experience. They've never steered me wrong!
My whole family loves this place. My wife used to shop here before outings with the girl scouts and I know buy stuff for myself. They have some of the best trail running shoes you can find locally and the prices aren't bad. Helpful friendly staff as well.
Just dropped in for a length of rope for a dog leash, but highly impressed at the huge array of top notch gear and could have browsed for hours despite having almost every piece of gear I'll ever need.
Having worked at similar (but smaller) store 30 years ago, I'm nitpicky & absolutely hate the poor service and ignorant employees at big box "outfitters"/sporting goods stores.
Immediately upon entering I could tell that Quest is different - (4 different folks asked if I needed help in one short visit and the young man who helped me actually knew what he was doing and cared.
I look forward to killing some time and buying a few toys here when I visit again soon.
Very nice big store has anything u could possibly need or want for camping or hiking, only downside is it's very expensive. Upside is they have every single thing is top of the line and newest dining out
Hometown outdoors at it's finest. Love the store and the outlet. Definitely find some great deals. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and actually uses the products in their down time giving them first-hand knowledge of most of the gear.
awesome outdoors store. super helpful and knowledgeable staff. just had the backpack guy fit me for multiple packs, fill em with weight and watch as I ambled around the store then give feedback and go over all the bells and whistles of the different packs for like 20 minutes. got a ton of useful advice and didn't make me feel like a total noob. also they have an awesome coffee shop in the store, how can you not love that
Great outdoor great and apparel store that is very customer oriented and truly defines what it means to shop and support locally. Great deals on used stuff as well.
great selection of patagonia brand and other brands. they do sell yeti cups and there is a fishing department. upstairs and downstairs pretty nice and helpful employees.
Love this store. They have the top of the line outdoor equipment. (Camping, fishing, kayaking, climbing). People are friendly and helpful. They are expensive but also have great sales. Love attending their camping weekends.
Quills has delicious coffee and Quest's basecamp features it well. I enjoy everything about getting coffee here unfortunately my man Jeff is a little tardy when it comes to service however great nevertheless.
