Amazing volunteers, a wonderfully calm and inviting safe space for queer people of almost any age. Helpful resources, welcoming groups frequently, queer library is well stocked, artwork everywhere, really a fantastic place

When I was searching for a sense of community that represented LGBTQ youth of color voices, I had friends in social justice circles repeatedly heralding QI as the place to go to meet the people I needed in my life. My initial intent was to meet with the Director purely as a volunteer for future events. What instead happened was a 2 - 3 hour long coffee meetup covering everything from lived experiences to chronologically going over our professional work in organizing to me somehow landing a role as a Lead Education and Advocacy organizer.

This experience in conjunction with fellow youth coordinators around town (doing MORE organizing just within the past 3 months!) is an experience I would have never dreamed could be possible when I was in high school, newly out, and completely isolated. As a queer person of color in one of the whitest cities in the US, finding space and solidarity where systemic, historical, and just plain blatant oppression runs rampant is not only important, but necessary.

I've learned through organizing with folks of color that community isn't just based on who you're partnered with and what name you can stamp next to your own org to boost the signal. The key word here, **Community**, starts from home, the corner table of a coffee shop, a potluck, and sharing stories with folks who *get it* and understand what Lived Experience actually means. Before you can hit the streets, you find your friends and family who will rally with you and help create a movement that pushes forward to a bigger place than you thought would ever happen in your life time. I feel like that's where QI is taking me, and I feel like that's where we can take folks who are invested in seeing this org grow.

This is a toxic environment for visitors volunteers and staff. This place is not safe for youths since it is unsupervised, among other reasons.

The director here is ridden by the guilt and fear created by hostile community members, which engenders a culture of abuse. Prepare to be treated with exclusion and to encounter akward or harmful situations.

As a place for the community gather and for individuals that are might be sexual minorities or LBGQTI and as an organization whose Mission and actions to date I can say that this is a good place to start I'm looking forward to watching them continue to grow I saw them open years ago and they have progressed so far!

What a beautiful space for the LGBTQIAA2SP+ community. I've been to a few events here. My only objection are the smokers that absolutely refuse to use the smoking station not right at the entrance. It's just outside the parking lot away from the entrance. People sit on the picnic tables and smoke tobacco and weed...right there at the entrance. I'm a smoker, but even I wouldn't do that. Extremely rude. I brought my Mom to an art showing and she wanted fresh air. So, we went outside. With a child there and my Mom in a wheelchair and on oxygen, there they sat...smoking away. There was no place for my mother to access outside Q Center to get away from the crowd without being bombarded by cigarette or joint smoke. Bad form from Q Center for not complying with basic city ordinance.

Q Center is amazing!! I m so happy to have a resource like this in Portland. They have meetings of all kinds, for all people, providing all kinds of support. The lending library is really cool and you ll find things that are usually excluded from other libraries. I wish they d update the website with info about meetings that happen there, since some of it is out of date and incorrect, but I m pretty sure it s all volunteer-run so I understand.

I've had the pleasure of working with this group since the beginning and its so amazing to watch these young organizers grow this entity from the ground up. They've united a demographic that is often cast aside and have showed tremendous integrity where many have faltered in the nonprofit industrial complex. Best of all, they are accessible; any young person looking to get involved in social justice on a professional level should definitely check in to what QI has going on!

A horrible untorollarble group of people, the person at the front desk told me to remove my rainbow swastika of pride. This whole environment if full of close minded bigots who dont have hygiene or keep a clean ship. The restroom had to many dirty heroin needles to count it's an unsafe place go if if you dare.

while it is a good place, j have a hard time accessing it being on the other side of the river. it is a good facility as a whole, but it's lack of accessable space causes me to not attend things I want to.

Great place to go to feel welcomed no matter who you are, what your orientation is, the color of your skin, or your background. They are there for everyone no matter what. They offer help with just about everything they have resources for, they have events held here and groups. It's just an all around amazing place!!

Got booted from my Volunteer Coordinator spot after 1200 hours of free service in 2013 by 5the now former trans exclusionary executive director and replaced by a purple haired jackass who ran the program in to the ground, current co-executive director was involved in The situation and is trans as well which is what is so disappointing.

The other new co exec director is an amazing guy and I hope he gets rid of that volunteer coordinator and makes things right with those they hurt in the past.

Q center is a safe Haven for the LGBTQ community. It has a lot of space that can be used by the community. A group I belong to has a monthly gathering/potluck there. I have also attended other events there, including a SAGE sponsored event and a self defense class just to name a few. This is a great place which supports the LGBTQ community in many different ways.

Difficult to get in touch with anyone, whether you call ahead or drop in. I had questions and nobody had the time to answer me. Only plus is that the events held there seem nice and the atmosphere is welcoming to an extent.
