Pura Vida was recommended to me two years ago and I've been hooked since. From the front desk staff to the therapist. Excellent service, Spa ambience, plush robes, and when available dry sauna, cold and hot tubs.
I came here today (my birthday) as a gift from my husband. I had really high hopes and been needing a massage and even recommended for him to book me here because of the reviews. Unfortunately, I did not get that experience.
First of all, my husband booked me for an hour and 30 minute massage. I did not get that. I didn't even get an hour. I'm sure cameras could absolutely cooberate that (if someone actually cared to look into the matter). I was charged for an hour and it was 45-50 minutes.
Next issue was I specifically asked for deep tissue massage and was charged for it. I did not get a deep tissue massage. I have severe knots and muscle pain from carrying twins, and I can understand it may be uncomfortable for the massage therapist to put more pressure, but I could have been told that/not charged for a service I didn't receive.
Last issue was the receptionist. She wasn't rude, but certainly not friendly. When I was leaving and paying for my massage, I had to stand and wait a few minutes while she texted on her phone. So I sat down and a gentleman came to the front whom she immediately attended to. I cannot help but feel offended and slighted by that gesture, which again, can be confirmed through cameras.
Overall, I should not have left a professional massage with knots and still pretty achy. I was so frustrated and ready to leave that I cancelled my manicure and pedicure, despite knowing they would charge $35 and it being my birthday gift. I will not be returning or ever recommending this place again.

Juliette is absolutely amazing and my go to for massage! Sheila at the Austin location has done wonders for my skin and knew exactly what I needed to stop breaking out! Love this place!

I was given a gift certificate for a massage and been going ever since! Ann is great for my stressed/knotty back. Not afraid to out extra pressure in. I treat myself whenever it's possible. Also given gift certificate to friends as well. All positive reviews!
We went to Waco for a wedding and decided to do a little self-care while there. It was one of the best decisions ever. Pura Vida was amazing. I felt like a million bucks after I left. Nan did a phenomenal job with my massage. She was thoughtful and thorough and really got into my back's tight spots. It was awesome. Priscilla did my facial and was also fantastic. My face looked so smooth and fresh afterwards. I didn't feel like a mid-thirties mom of two anymore. I felt like I was in my mid-twenties. I would for sure consider making the two hour drive into town for a weekend to experience that again. Absolutely amazing. I will also say that their COVID protocols felt very thorough. I did not feel at risk during the process, and it wasn't impersonal, as a lot of things done while wearing masks can be. Again, phenomenal. I feel more relaxed just thinking about the experience while writing this review.
Love Pura Vida Facelogic!! Always professional and friendly! We love our monthly massages, pedicures & facials. I also get shellac nails done here. We have never had a bad or disappointing visit.
