Pura Vida Lodge Reviews

I just spent a week at Pura Vida Surf Lodge in Mimizan and I loved this place. The owners and the team are great, and what a beautiful house. There is a big garden with many different spaces and atmospheres, offering privacy but still with a feeling of being close to everybody, which is very nice. There are tables for meals and socializing, an outdoor kitchen with everything you need, there is a warm swimming pool, a fire pit for cozy evenings with friends, a really cool bar, a surf zone with boards and various "games" to improve your balance, there's an awesome little massage area with heating lamps and excellent masseur, and my favorite is the tropical island in the middle of the garden with lots of cool plants and a shower hidden inside. All of it, house and garden, are decorated with great taste and colors, and it's all very clean.
The breakfast.. I loved it. You have a bit of everything and a specialty everyday, all very healthy and many things are homemade like, crepes, bread and spreads.
They also have bikes, many skateboards, a large choice of surfboards, games, instruments, you can also do your laundry.
The rooms are very nice too and quiet, still with a great attention to details. I was in a room with bunk beds for 4 people with a shower and sink. There are also double rooms with balcony.
Also it's a place where I felt totally safe as they are used to organize First Aid training, which is important especially if you do action sports like surfing and skating. It was good to know the team is competent and you can count on them.
Finally the ratio surf instructor/student is great, so they make sure you are in a small group to progress even more.
I'm already thinking about coming back!

I had an amazing week at the Pura Vida Surf Lodge. The lodge with its garden and common spaces is well looked after, breakfast was amazing with something special everyday, like smoothies, little apple cakes...
The surf lessons were really good, so I was able to make some progress!
What I really liked was the possible use of the beach cruisers, so we were able to plan our day very flexible!
I will definitely be back!

Spent a week there. Very well organized and clean. Good breakfast. Nice hosts, great staff! Would have liked a bit more surf input (More theory, maybe video analysis, proper collective warm-up before classes). Garden closes and night rest starts at 11:30pm. I personally like a bit more flexibility and some party, a bit too stiff and grown-up even for 30+ people like me. But that is personal taste.

Many thanks for such a great week to Elles, Sven and the crew. The organization was really good. The atmosphere in the lodge is very chilly and relaxed and I was able to escape from my everyday life very well, so that I didn't want to leave at all. Furthermore, I discovered a new favorite sport. I had no previous surfing experience and I learned a lot in one week (thanks to surf instructors!) All in all, I really enjoyed the combination of sports, sun and the lovely people around me. Great place for a relaxing holiday, chill vibes, cheap drinks and has a nice beachbreak closeby. They let you use beachcruisers to get your board to the beach easily without having to carry it yourself.
Nice tropical garden setting to come back after a day of surfing, and the food in the evening is delicious.

This surflodge offers you the real spirit of surfing and beach-life .. surfInstructors are devoted, hosts bring a smile on your face and a very good service. It's nice to meet people from all over Europe and further...one week is too short, but leaves a very good impression..

I've been surfing in lots of places in Europe but the Pura Vida Surf Lodge in Mimizan became my favorite place of all. The lodge with its beautiful garden offers everything you need to relax and to enjoy the sun. The setting is perfect, the hosts & crew are amazing, the waves are great and the vibes are awesome. I'm definitely coming back!

The House is hosted by Sven & Elles, their 2 lovely kids & a full team of surfers, skaters and others nice people.
Everybody is kind and good vibes, and will makes you directly feel welcomed & relax.
The House is confortable : lighty rooms with balconies, beautiful garden Perfect to chill around the swimming pool or testing your balance with a skyline or later in the evening having a drink at the bar..
The udge exterior kitchen Space is Perfect to share gourmet diner with your team.
After early morning yoga stretching, you will rise and shine ;) and also enjoy a big Breakfast healthy & foody to be ready for a sporting day !
~ About surfing : Teachers are really caring about you. They take time to Make them sure you re on.
And you will give back your best, whatever if you re confirmed or beginner, you will learn! And that s the point, isn t ?
You will also enjoy the funky colorful bikes you will get for the week, Just perfect to go surfing by your own or with your team.
Then, if you Don t know Les Landes, you will fall in love with the pine forest along the sea..
Ha! Last but not least : after sport, you can also reserved a massage I did twice with Cristina which is super pro and will go deep in mussels if you need it.
Then, after all that great moments shared you will leave the Pura Vida Lodge with a big smile on your face.

Hey future travelers,
I was asked by my friends to join them for a holiday in puravida lodge and so I did .
Never regretted it for a second.
When I arrived I already felt at home by the warm and pleasant welcome we got. First impression was really nice and friendly in a big but cosy garden with a pool, bar, outside kitchen and a lot of other facilities .
The staff and owners where good fun, helpful and as I said before nice and friendly.
The surf was big fun (great teachers) and you can also take other classes like yoga, skatesurf and sub.
The rooms, showers and all where very clean and hygienic
I enjoyed my week there with fun people, good vibes and sunny weather.
So to end my message. I really recommend you to go there.
