Not sure if this place would be right for a loved one that is dealing with substance abuse and mental health. I was asked to call and check back in, and I was informed the person needing assistance must call so they can note it. My problem is, this person doesnt like people, has mental health issues, and asked me to call. How I was talked to on the phone, makes me wonder how they treat people with many problems. Not good. And that was a phone experience.

Without getting into detail my daughter was admitted to the psychiatric ward. I believe she is Schizophrenic and paranoid but that was for the doctors to figure out. She was there for 3 days and we were told that they found no signs of paranoia. They only talked to her and never asked any family members to come in and explain what we had witnessed or why we thought she needed help. Obviously my daughter wasn't going to say anything to them that would give them reason to keep her there. Not sure they could keep her there anyway but we were at least hoping that she would be required to seek professional help. Instead we were given the name of places locally that she could go to and talk to someone but I doubt she will ever go voluntarily as she thinks there is nothing wrong with her. My daughter did say the staff was very nice to her but I don't recommend the hospital for any psychiatric help.

There is a small clinic in the hospital named CHD. There is a women that works in there in a office behind the desk and she is the rudest things ever. She wines and is downright disrespectful. I would not recommend going here. The clinicians do not care about anyone but themself and the staff is unprofessional!

I went in for a 7 day quick detox back in 1998. The staff was great and the program was good. The facility was pretty clean, but the food was terrible, which is to be expected.
Idk how much if at all it s changed in the last 20 years or so, but I d recommend giving it a shot.

Staff is incredibly good. We went there to visit a patient and were surprised at how friendly everyone was (the care staff, social worker, psychiatrist), everyone willing to communicate with the families, super friendly and caring. I was shocked. I've been to many of these places and the best you can hope for is to not get a cranky nurse, to get someone who at least is neutral in expression and somewhat willing to communicate. Not here, they were just excellent. I was happily surprised.

I had to give one star because I cannot give zero, they DO NOT properly screen their staff. One of the substance abuse councilor said she had a recovery home I could go & stay. Upon discharge she took me to her home. I ended up relapsing so I never went back left all my personal belongings fast forward 3 1/2 yrs, I returned to Massachusetts married & clean looking for an apartment because I must take care of my sick mom. We find a place I call the gas co to install services in my new place & the so-called substance abuse councilor used my name & had services put n her home & ran up the bill to almost 3,000.00!!! What kind of human being does that?! She will not face me & this place continues to employ her. God only knows how many other folks struggling with addiction she is using. I will be damned if she gets away with this I am going to prosecute her to the fullest extent allowed by the law. Trust no one not even the staff!!!!

My son age (8) was admitted in December 2017. Our personal experience seemed very brief. I visited everyday for 7 days. I called nightly to get updates. Thankfully he had his own room.
Care seemed so/so. I was only in contact with the Nurse Practicioner once! The social worker was great about setting up aftercare.
The staff seemed burnt out, which is given when they are picking up extra hours. Not a job to pick up extra hours especially doubles unless you are physically and mentally healthy yourself.
The outcome of our discharge was revisiting stimulants (prior increased aggression) they said he tolerated them well except he was pacing at our visits and making (lightly tapping fist to forehead) never has he ever did that. Common sense is that s not good tolerance.
Final thoughts...this was the closest inpatient mental health facility to us (40mins away) maybe staff has changed and they have improved but last case option if you ask me.

Most of the staff there have no idea what they are doing. They have only so called book smart ideas instead of actual rehab recovery experience. That being said they only guess what it is you need NOT what you need. Having a counselor thats 21 and never even picked up a cig has the rite to tell me how it is being an addict? Not to mention the counselors well so called that leave every other week they cant keep anyone there. Lets be honest your better off going to the corner and talking to a friend then going here. This is 100% true and please if you value yourself and the want to be sober dont come here. God bless and best of luck.
