Project Purple®: A Beacon of Hope in the Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancer, with a survival rate of just 10% over five years. It is estimated that by 2030, pancreatic cancer will become the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Despite these grim statistics, there is hope on the horizon thanks to organizations like Project Purple®.

Founded in 2010 by Dino Verrelli after he lost his father to pancreatic cancer, Project Purple's mission is to find a cure for this devastating disease and improve the lives of patients through support, hope, and compassion. Over the past decade, Project Purple has raised millions of dollars for pancreatic cancer research and patient support programs.

One of Project Purple's primary initiatives is its grant program which funds cutting-edge research into new treatments and therapies for pancreatic cancer. The organization partners with leading medical institutions across the country to identify promising research projects that have potential to make a significant impact on patient outcomes.

In addition to funding research projects, Project Purple also provides direct support services for patients and their families. This includes financial assistance for medical bills and other expenses related to treatment as well as emotional support through counseling services and peer-to-peer networks.

Project Purple also hosts several fundraising events throughout the year including marathons, bike rides, golf tournaments, and more. These events not only raise critical funds but also help raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and its impact on patients' lives.

But perhaps one of Project Purple's most impactful programs is its Patient Financial Aid Program which provides financial assistance directly to patients undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.
