Pritzker Military Library Review

Very interesting museum, friendly staff, great collection of artwork and literature, and has a really good section about Medal of Honor recipients.

An informative museum about the military. On the second floor of the building. Very nice, affordable.

I really enjoyed this place. The exhibits are very well thought out and informative.

The Pritzker library is unrivaled as a study / work space. The Library has an elegant design, quite sophisticated ambience, and also unparalleled views of Millenium park. Didn't expect to find such a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of city center!

I was here for an event. It's a beautiful space. The exhibits looked really interesting, so I will definitely come back when I have more time to look at them.

Very clean and well organized. How often do you get a library and a museum at the same place?? I enjoyed my visit there saw a lot of display of the ww1 crafts and badges and read some of the history being displayed on the wall. You get to watch the video about the history on the TV on 3rd floor. So after my museum tour I came back to 2nd floor to study my books got 2 in one! But I think 3rd floor is more quiet if you choose to study and the library/museum is not free you will have to pay $5

This place is dope! They've got a wide variety of cool exhibits--I'm especially a fan of the earthquake simulator, aquarium, and rock and mineral collection. I wanted to go in the rainforest orb, but it was closed by the time I got to it :(

NightLife is an experience you should definitely have if you live in SF and have even a passing interest in science. It's half the price of normal admission, the music is good, the presentations are unique, and the smattering of drink tables offer some pretty unique refreshments. Check it out!

Amazing place , not really ment for the kids learned alot here

I visited the Pritzker Military Library during the Chicago Architecture Foundation's Open House Chicago 2013. What a treat! This amazing space is open to visitors for a nominal fee, opening a world of historical books, periodicals and displays highlighting our nation's military history. Colorful posters, photographs and multimedia exhibits will peak your interest in this material, as will the state-of-the-art theater, oral history room and computerized resources. Don't miss the Medal of Honor exhibit to see an actual Medal of Honor on display, as well as an interactive exhibit allowing you to review details of the complete Medal of Honor roll! This is a worthwhile diversion on your visit to the city, allowing you to not only experience the famous Monroe Building, but to take in a cultural museum experience as well.

Great place to visit and hear speakers on military history.

Mou much in display for the museum part. There are a lot of books but non members cannot check them out.

The D-Day commemorative collection/display alone is worth the time and the ultra-modest $5 fee. Terrific location. Comfortable places to read and think. And the mementos/books for purchase also are excellent.

Its more of a war library. It has a lot of war books you would normally find in a library. Clean and well maintained.

Not really a military museum, more like a military library. If you are wanting to see weapons, uniforms, ect., this is NOT the place to go. Go to Cantygny 1st Division museum in Wheaton IL. THAT is a military museum!

A very nice little museum. I came specifically to see the trench art, but enjoyed the entire collection.

We had some time to kill before heading home to the suburbs after a visit to Art Institute. I had enjoyed several PBS WTTW Presentations done by the PMM&L and saw that Library was open. We decided to investigate and are so pleased that we did. The staff welcomed us and helped us find books of interest. I am interested in the Fifth Army Italian Campaign 1943-1944, and was able to find some new materials I had not seen previously. I was very impressed with the wealth of information and friendliness of the staff. I will certainly visit again.

Small museum, $5 dollar entry fee if yoi are over 18... Not worth it in my opinion.

Great place to see a bunch of history about any American war

I'm certain that PMM&L will evoke strong feelings when visiting! I've known MG Jim Mukoyama seemingly forever, and he is a warrior unlike any other I've had the honor to encounter EVER ....I have not the words to properly describe him or the others who are with him ! GOD BLESS THEM ALL....

I visited the Pritzker Military and Museum and Library with my family. We were treated very politely and felt welcomed by the staff. The library/museum is very well-maintained and wields fascinating exhibits.

70,000 books, 37,000 artifacts. But best is resource person Paul.
