We have been so lucky to be residents of the prime housing group. The office workers are great and the maintenance are wonderful people who are always willing to help. Thank you!

I really want to give a 0. Worst apartment ever. No respects at all, always enter your apartment randomly. Always charge fees. Never live there:)
Lived in their Beal Street Apt for 2 years and loved my experience! The office is very friendly and willing to work with you if you need anything. Our apartment complex was small but very affordable and clean when we moved it. Parking was never an issue and they do an excellent job of making sure their apartments look nice and get the proper maintence if something needs fixing. Overall a great experience! Highly recommend renting from them!
Went in for a job interview, very unprofessional and the lady in the office, very rude.
Awful place to live for many reasons.
1. Their is a bug issue (not just in our apartment but the entire building)
2. The neighbors are not friendly
3. They made us wait 2 weeks to move in so they could "fix the place up" but when we moved in their where stains on the floor and old food in the fridge)
4. The windows don't work
5. The people at the office are very rude and lost our rent checks twice, then called us liars saying we never turned them in ... They found them later.
6. They come and do apartment tours 2 months before you move out and only give you an hour advance notice. Then if you call and ask them if they can rescedule they lie and say they texted you a week ago (neither me or my roommate got a text)
Very rude people . and a disgusting place to live. Wouldn't recommend to anyone! Save your self and don't move in
I have lived with Prime Housing Group for the past year and a half. The staff has been very helpful. The location of my apartment is very convenient for getting around town, as it is close to MSU's campus and there are many stores near by.
Terrible place to live. In winter you can't open window, even open a very very little. You will be charged $100. The people in office said open the window will froze the heat pipe. Is that ridiculous? If you keep the heat on, how will the pipe be frozed? I guess the reason why they ask the residents to keep the window close is because they paid the gas fee. And if you open the window, more gas will be used for heat, and they pay more gas fee. Also a lot of other policies from them are RIDICULOUS and UNREASONABLE. Like no visiting pet, no guest parking. All the things are "they want your money". And people who work in office is not friendly. If you want to discuss about the fine, don't do this, because they will YELL to you!!! Definitely NEGATIVE comment and NOT recommend.
I too lazy to complain a lot. Just say worst apartment ever and management. If you live here you will see
After careful consideration, I have decided that Prime Housing Group should change their name to Crime Housing Group, because that s what they are. Crooks. I stayed at Riverside West over the Summer, and here are a few things that happened. On a very hot day, my roommate and I noticed that our AC unit was not working. Not surprising since the AC units there are from the stone age. We called maintenance to come take a look at it, and they did. They told us that the AC was working but that it was just too hot for them since they are outdated (and probably will be for the next 50 years if management stays the same.) That month, our electricity bill was much higher than usual, and it turns out that the AC units (that don t work) use up an extreme amount of energy. Now, you would expect a self-respecting business to acknowledge their mistakes and give us some of the money back for the crazy electricity bill, but they insisted we call the electric company. (Why the hell would the electric company pay us back when your 50 year old AC unit used a ridiculous amount of power?) Needless to say, we never got our money back. The second incident is a little more obnoxious. The DAY BEFORE my lease was up, I parked my car behind my apartment building in order to load it up as part of the moving process. My car was not permitted to be in this lot, technically, but when a resident is moving out, again, ANY self-respecting business would allow it, because it makes sense to park close to your living quarters when you are moving out. Not Prime Housing Group. They called the parking police which landed me a $45 ticket (and they knew it was my car.) Upset, I went to the leasing office and asked that they reimburse me for the ridiculous ticket. They refused even though I explained the situation. If you end up living at Prime Housing, I believe they would rather make you walk all the way to a separate lot when you re moving out than give you the common decency to let you park in a space close to your building. Unfortunately the ticked could not be appealed because it is a private lot, so there are no exceptions, meaning the Prime Housing Group can continue mistreating their residents whenever they please and nothing will ever come of it. I would understand their reluctance to help me out if I were a troublesome resident that didn t pay rent on time, or got noise complaints, but that is not the case. This company is a predatory business that takes advantage of college students. Please do not live here.
Great location, very fair price, friendly staff. All around a wonderful place to live!!!
I love living here, it's quiet and close to campus and other locations. It's an easy drive for groceries in Okemos and there is a Punk Taco across the street. Being next to the river is nice, I've been lucky enough to watch a family of deer play in the water. My apartment is comfortable, I've never had an issue. The office staff are friendly and more than willing to work with you. I had a flat tire and the office and maintenance staff worked together to get my tire inflated enough to get to the shop. It was so generous of them to go above and beyond for me like that. Another time I had a situation and had to be away from my apartment when there was a delivery. Someone from the office was willing to check to make sure my package was safe - and they keep most packages in the office for you anyways if you aren't able to be home to receive it. I've been here almost a year and intend to finish my degree with this apartment.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Prime Housing. We lived in Cedar View East for two years, and loved every minute.
The location is great, and the office staff is amazing. They always go out of their way to help you out with anything you need. They are constantly making updates and improvements to each apartment, and are very quick to respond to any maintenance requests.
I would recommend them to anyone!
Love this place!! Great place to live, always super friendly management! Lived here for two years in a row. Close to campus if you re a student and close to the bus stops. I ve referred a couple friends to live here too, and they love it as well. It s inexpensive compared to a lot of the other places on campus. I ve never had a problem and will continue to refer my friends who are looking for housing!
Awesome place. Great prices. Maintenance is hard working. Staff in office is friendly. I resigned for next fall.
very loud. You can hear exacly every word of conversation from upstair people even they talk not lound. You can hear how they walk all day(I guess because the house was built mainly by old wood
Probably one of the worse housing experiences I have ever encountered. This place is pretty much a hole in a wall place located in East Lansing. The the rooms are very old and outdated. The A/C doesn't really work at all and Windows do not shut or lock (use a stick to try and lodge the window shut). I spoke with the people at the service counter about it but they are very inconsiderate and not flexible at all! There's also a huge any infestation in my apartment and they have yet to get rid of them. The apartments still have dirty and grim left by the previous tenants and they expect me to clean it all up. Maintenance is terrible!! They will come in and out of your room for the most bogus reasons (about 20 times over a two month time period) to be exact. They also make you pay a fee of $100 if you check out one minute past your checkout time! Again, inconsiderate and not flexible at all. I do not recommend this apartment leasing group at all!
Terrible place, steer clear!! The staff is unhelpful
Affordable and good location near campus. Staff is very nice, maintenance workers are always very willing to help with issues and I have never had any issues with the housing group.
Overall, I have loved living here the past two years. The price was great for the location and size. Utilities were cheap and my rent was extremely affordable. My only complaint would be that I think the previous tenants were smokers as there were cigarette burns in the carpet and the walls were very tacky. Still, a scrub of the walls and strategically positioned furniture (which was included and very nice) made it easy to get past. I will definitely miss this apartment when I move out next month.
I live in Cedarview East in a one bed one bath apartment. It is easily my favorite apartment I've had and I am even considering resigning. The staff is friendly, super responsive, and the apartment itself is (in my opinon) perfect for college students. The pricing is fair, it is close to campus and it is right on Grand River, making it a very convenient spot to live. The complexes are slightly older, but my apartment is very nice especially for one person, and it is very spacious too.
I had a great experience living in Riverside apartments! The carpets and couches were new and comfortable! Some parts are slightly outdated, but overall looks good! The price was great considering location to campus. My only concern was waiting for maintenance to come when there were any issues. Aside from that the office staff and maintenance staff were friendly! I have already recommended these apartments to many and will continue to do so because not many apartments are this cheap near campus. Overall, great!
I lived here for 3 years. It's cheap. You get what you pay for so don't expect a newly remodeled apartment. Yes they are older. But I've lived in many apartments in East Lansing and lets be real, they're all crap and over priced. It's quieter than most other apartments and the staff was always lovely to me and incredibly helpful. Great for med students, close to campus and fee hall. Try and get something in the back facing the river, it's very private and it's beautiful scenery. Heat is included in rent. Good luck finding that anywhere else. Only big complaint is the front parking lot...the spaces are way too small and it's on a slant so obviously it's gonna suck. I just always parked in the back though. It's not alot of kitchen counter space but I ended up buying a $15 bookshelf from walmart and using it as a microwave stand and then storage for chips ect.. It's functional if you're not too picky. Personally I loved it.
Great location and good price for a college student on a budget. They handle maintence requests pretty fast and snow removal is taken care of within a day or so. Only thing I wasn't happy with is the first months rent is for the one week you're there in August, so you have to pay again after only being there a week. But overall, I have enjoyed my experience with them.
Prime housing has great locations for college students and very comfortable living for their affordable pricing!!! #primehousinggroup #eastlansingsbestkeptsecret #phg #prime #elhiddentreasure
We are very pleased with the environment at Chief Okemos Circle. The neighbors are respectful and we are grateful for the affordable rate as well!
It has a great location and good price for a college student. People who are working in the office are extremely friendly as well. The apartment comes with furniture, so no need to buy any.
I highly recommend renting through Prime! They're professional and always respond quickly. The apartments I lived in were older and small but I didn't personally mind at all. They were well taken care of and they continued to make improvements on it through the year. For how close and cheap their apartments are, they're well worth looking into.
I decided to live in Prime Housing Group s property after living in a DTN apartment and hating it. DTN never respected my privacy and was always bothering me treating my home as a model unit for tours. Prime Housing Group has been nothing but amazing. The staff is kind and very helpful.
I currently live in Cedarview East and think it is a great value especially for how close it is to campus if you are a student. It s quiet and very clean. I wish I knew about Prime Housing Group before signing with DTN in years past. Highly recommend!
Do not rent from this company. Not only are their employees rude but their manager who works on site in East Lansing is very disrespectful too. After living here for a couple months I am starting to see why the place is so cheap. It's the only way to get people to sign. Least to say, very dissatisfied with this company.
When I move in August I'll have lived in Stoddard Apartments for two years. I'm only moving because I wasn't able to make a final decision on where I was living after I finished graduate school until April 2018 and my apartment had been rented out by someone else by then (and I've chosen to move somewhere I can have a cat). The only real issues I've had with the apartment are stink bugs in the fall and spring (but that's not an issue specific to this building) and a pretty old refrigerator/freezer that builds up ice REALLY quickly and then tends to leak on the floor if I don't defrost it often enough. The parking lot is also really tiny as is the laundry room--I prefer to just go to a nearby laundromat since I feel claustrophobic in the laundry room in my building.
Otherwise, the staff have been responsive and really friendly. The building is really quiet overall -- even when my old neighbor across the hall had parties I couldn't hear it from my bedroom. Since I moved here in August 2016, they've updated floors in many apartments and replaced the washers and dryers, which was appreciated. It's also nice to have heat, water, sewer, trash and parking included in your rent.
Overall, I'd recommend living here. It's a cozy place close to MSU campus and I've had a good experience with my apartment and PHG.
If you want to find a place you would like to call "home" in East Lansing, no matter you're international or domestic, you should never miss Prime Housing Group.
People here are super friendly. I'm surprised that they remember my name! Super friendly! Maintenance is efficient. All my requests could be fixed within one day.
The environment is perfect! Adjacent to the river. In summer you can enjoy afternoon tea or have a picnic with friends under trees, in winter you can enjoy the snow. If you want to walk in the woods, it just takes less than 10 minutes walk.
Convenience: restaurants, supermarkets, cafes are just across the road. You can reach WholeFoods, Target, Fresh International Market (full of Asian foods) just by walk.
The apartment is super spacious and almost fully furnished. It is safe here.
Traffic: you can walk to campus. Bus No.1 stop is just 1 minute away.
I enjoy my stay here, and I believe you would not feel regret for living here with all you want.
I absolutely love living here. In fact, I even renewed my lease! It is an extremely large apartment for a very affordable price. It is great for entertaining guests. It is also a walkable distance to classes and social scenes such as bars. The staff is very responsive and kind. I would highly recommend living here!
I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment in the Lowebrook building for a short summer lease. The price for a one-bedroom apartment in the heart of East Lansing could not be beaten. The location is great - right by some of my favorite sites in East Lansing. The staff in the office was very friendly and helpful, and they made it easy to get signed up for my lease. It was even kind of funny - it turned out I went to high school with one of the girls from the office. Also, any time I needed a guest parking pass or had a question, they were happy to help.
As for the apartment itself, it was the same size and layout I expected. It came furnished, and though some of the furniture was somewhat old, it all worked and nothing was falling apart. I don't think the apartment I got was as nice as the model that they showed me before I signed my lease. The furniture in the model apartment seemed like it was nicer, and the overall apartment just seemed cleaner and more well-kept. I was a little disappointed by this. This and the fact that the walls were paper-thin and I could hear my neighbors seemingly just talking at normal volumes were definitely the downsides of living here. But for the price I paid, having my own one-bedroom apartment in the middle of East Lansing was more than enough of an upside to make this an overall positive experience.
4/5 stars. Would recommend to anyone looking for affordable student housing in a convenient location.
Clean, spacious apartments, very reasonable prices for right next to campus and a very supportive staff. I've lived here for two years and haven't had any problems at all. Management always notifies you well in advance before coming in to make renovations, there is plenty of parking and heat is included in rent. Great deal!
I have really enjoyed living here. After living in 3 other locations in East Lansing, I can say that Prime Housing Group is my absolute favorite! The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, just a short walk to campus and downtown. The apartment itself is very spacious with an unbeatable view of grand river. I wish I would have found Prime Housing Group sooner. The rent is extremely affordable with parking and heat included. 10/10
My wife and me have been living in Stoddard apartment for three years and we love it. It is close to the campus and very convenient for taking the buses.
I have been with Prime Housing for about a year now. I couldn't be happier with the location, friendly and helpful staff, and the condition of the apartments. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a place in East Lansing!
I absolutely love living here, compared to the apartment complex I lived in last year, this place is heaven. The management and maintenance team if full of genuinely kind and caring people. My one bed room apartment is so spacious and so affordable compared to the other options near campus. Oh and I also love how heat is free so I can stay nice and cozy during the winter weather! I highly recommended living here, I love it so much I already renewed my lease for next year!
I lived in Cedarview East. Good location and good price. You only pay for rent, electricity, and internet/cable. The maintenance was also very quick.
The downsides are that nothing is updated (Furniture, Appliances, kitchen, bathroom) are all old. It isnt that bad to live with until you see your electric bill is higher than it should be due to inefficient appliances. The heating unit is pretty old as well and radiates heat even after it is off. This sometimes leads to 80-85 degree rooms in the winter (You can't crack your window when it is below 40 degrees or you will be fined $100). My tip would be to set your heat to 65 so that the actual temperature is around 70-75.
They also come into your room ALOT for random scheduled maintenance and to show your apartment to others, which was incredibly inconvenient at times.
Cedarbrook has decent apartments with good prices perfect for anyone, especially college students on a budget. They are comfortable with most things provided which makes move in easy making you feel right at home. Prime Housing also renovated the apartments with new floors, carpet, and couches which are very nice. They are also very good with keeping up with residents for maintenance and reminders to pay rent. The location is perfect because it is very close to campus and Grand River as well!

I moved into Stoddard Apartments in May, and I have loved my experience here so far. I use to live in a DTN community and Prime is by far exceeded my expectations. My one bedroom is partially furnished and a great size. It is bigger than my studio through DTN and cheaper! I pay $705 in rent a month which is pretty affordable for as close to campus as I am. Don't go through DTN, come to Prime!
I lived here for 3 years and absolutely loved it. It was quiet, close to campus and not far from many amenities. Staff was very accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone looking to live in East Lansing.
They ve been told dozens of times there are homeless people sleeping in the building hallways and haven t done anything. They ask their residents to give good reviews for giveaways. BEWARE many good reviews are for that.
I have lived there in 2 different apartments, and the experience has been good so far. The apartments should probably be bigger, mainly the ones that are located in the Riverside complex, but the rest has been good! I am from Mexico, which is the right choice if you want to live close to MSU.
As an international student, I had reservations on where to live for my graduate studies. I was looking for options closer to the campus but within affordable budget. Prime Housing Group checked all the criteria that I was looking for - Spacious living, best possible rates for such close proximity to the campus and East Lansing downtown. The Office guys are super helpful and always welcome you with a great smile. I have been living here since 2 years and have no complaints. I would love to continue living here if my job allows me to. But all in all, great place to live for students and those working near Lansing area.
Love living here! Rent is super affordable and management is kind!
Prime housing is awful. The women in the office suck at their job. It takes them so long to even acknowledge that you are in the office waiting for help. Not to mention that they SO rude and not understanding of anything. The office is the worst, but the apartment isn't much better. I have MICE in my apartment.
Have lived here for a year now, about to be two! Great price and location! Office staff is very responsive and understanding
Prime Housing Group is great! My roommate and I love living here!
Great location, great price, friendly and responsive staff. Highly recommend!
I love this apartment and the management is so nice! The location is great and in a safe environment.
They are horrible. I signed the lease, and I'm having bad experience here. Like sometimes no hot water to shower in freezing winter, and stuff find any excuse just want to come to our room and check. Invasion of privacy. And now they told us "we want you to move" "yes, it is in between of the lease, but we won't charge you any extra for moving out without our leasing period finished." See, how awful they are. When they're happy they sign you the lease, when they're not happy they kick us out. And they want to sue me as well for like I wrote bad common on the web. Funny... I am writing the truth and fact. What's wrong?! If some of you wanna find an apt. to sign, I honestly do not recommend here. It's all my opinion, and I have friends living here too. They have the same feeling. So, just an advice from my experience because we all customer.
I loved living in the Stoddard Ave. apartments run by Prime Housing Group. It was very close to campus and the rent was reasonable for 1 person. The rent included furniture (no bed), heat, and water. The office was responsive to my calls and any minor repairs were fixed in a timely fashion.
People in the front office are welcoming, nice, and very helpful - make everything easy and understandable. Nice apartments as well - good quality and homely.
They were absolutely terrible to work with, nobody in the office was on the same page, and it took so much effort and coordination in order to get out of out lease that just wasn't there on their end of the deal. So glad I never have to speak with anyone affiliated with this unprofessional company again
