A treat to shop at an old school butcher shop with an owner that takes pride in his work!

I recently went to Westwood Prime Meats for dinner with my family. The burger and fries were phenomenal. My wife got the garden state burger (veggie burger) and loved it. The staff was friendly, courteous and provided great service. They even brought out a complimentary cup of pudding for my 9 month old son. I highly recommend Westwood Prime Meats for a meal or if you're looking for a high quality butcher.

Great atmosphere, went to dinner last night there with my wife. Located right in the butcher shop on the corner in downtown Westwood. The poutine was amazing, great flavor. Ordered the burger medium, came a little bit more cooked than that, slight char on the outside. Needed a dash of salt, but was very good meat none the less, got the SSB burger. Will definitely try again soon!

whenever i make the SSB(sirloin,shortrib and briscut) hamburgers i get rave reviews and my friends think i'm this incredible chef(partially right). i tell them it's the meats from Sal's. all i do is salt and pepper(i also saute onions. i've grown addicted to these burgers. btw all of the other meats i've purchased are also phenomenal. Sal also takes the time to explain all the different cuts of meat. i love going to the store.

Way overpriced for the quality of cuts of meat. I was surprisingly disappointed.

Love this place. Been going there for years and never had a bad experience (figured it was about time to give them a review) Always has fresh quality meats. The owner is old school who knows his stuff and runs a very clean and professional butcher shop. There aren t many of these stores still around, I hope this one survives this pandemic because it would surely be missed by me and a lot of people who appreciate quality things.

Get the 96er! AKA 48oz Dry Aged Porterhouse! Nobody and I mean nobody has dry aged meat like Westwood!

The steaks are straight ballin. Best deal in town is a dozen burgers from Sal. I just had the meatballs for the first time tonight and will definitely get them again.

I loved their chicken burgers and fresh side salad. Friendly staff and liked how they arranged their service to make sure we were at a safe distance. My daughter loved her cheeseburger and fries. Will definitely be back for a bite.

Best burger in the area right now. Ordered the Capone burger with the steak blend. Ordered it medium and it came well done (subtracted 1 star). Everything else about the burger was delicious. Very flavorful, still moist (even though it was more well done than I wanted). The fries are delicious as well. Will definitely be back to try the different burger blends. If you are serious about your burgers, this is the place to go.

2 vegetarians walk into a meat market for lunch and... they were so happy they did! The Garden State Burger is a delicious vegan option that is filling and nutritious. Try the garlic Parmesan fries and the truffle fries. They re both amazing. Westwood Prime Eats makes their already fantastic reputation that much better!

Everybody knows Westwood Prime Meats has the best aged steaks - they melt in your mouth. Did you know about all of the other cuts of beef, sausages, organic chicken, veal besides that? And there are Italian entrees and appetizers galore? Set your table with Chef Salvatore.

Dry aged rib eye steak is a rare luxury for me, and not easy to find. I had only bought them from a butcher in California and was lookin for a local source. What they sold me for $25/lb was not aged. Maybe it was an error, maybe it was fraud, but either way it left a very bad taste in my mouth.

The owner is absolutely the rudest person I ve ever encountered. I m so appalled by your unprofessionalism and terror behavior. I do Not appreciate how you speak to customers and try to intimidate them when they are there trying to help your business! Seriously need to check your attitude.

This is a great place with very fresh and delicious choices for eat-in or take-out. Their chicken cutlets, Bronx salad and smoke house mayo are fantastic! Nice people too.

I love the selection of soups and meats here.
Sal, his daughter and son were always very accommodating and patient with my family over the years. My favorite items to order is the hot dogs and chicken burgers. I m so glad to see that they expanded into a restaurant/cafe and are doing well, I have yet to go into the expanded space and will update my review to reflect it.

I know Sal for almost 50 years. The quality and service he provides is nothing short of OUTSTANDING. He is also one of the finest chefs I know, and he will gladly teach you how to prepare every cut of meat he offers. When you go to his shop, instead of saying hello, say "Ma-Na-Ma-Na" (just like the Sesame Street song). You'll gain a friend forever.
