Full of wonderful and magical moments. A really great experience that is accepting to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Full of wonderful and magical moments. A really great experience that is accepting to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The very principle has been destroyed and as I do support gay pride I morally do NOT support this parade. And in my opinion neither should anyone else. If thug mentality remains prominent we should sign away civilization. BML is a disgrace.
Police were banned because of Childish drama Peter F. says because a serial killer was only killing gay people of colour and the police didn t listen to us when they could have saved more lives. Pride Toronto did the right thing to ban them. We love our lgbtq2s cops we just don t like the system that never was here for us in the first place because pride was a retaliation against their bath house raids. EDUCATE YOURSELVES!
A pride corner. A store , the part of the annual PRIDE parade route. A definite new part of history of Toronto as modern city
The price happens in the month of June , they have a parade and it s AMAZING .. you can even take a part in it through volunteering via their website.
The opportunity is really good to make new friend and having an aawzum experience ..
Top notch folks bringing this city the largest privately funded event in Canada. Haters in the back. It's a hell of a challenge to pull this off with restrictions at every turn. Change is on the horizon
But awesome folks
I was stunned by the editorial choice to place the ad 'the sex you want' with a pictorial display of a male inter-racial threesome, on a page opposite 'family pride' advertisement ~ Jun 24-25. Seriously, we have right-wing fundamentalists combing our every move... that's all they need. That aside, its offensive to me, an out gay-father and difficult to justify on soooo many levels. Outrageously considered...
I loved it so much. it was so much fun!!! I went with my girlfriend
Absolutely incredible Pride celebration! An entire month of amazing parties, concerts, and installations. An absolute must if you're in Toronto in June.
It used to be awesome; a world famous celebration of inclusion and respect. Not any more. I hate the people who destroyed Pride.
Instead of inclusion and ending intolerance Pride has decided to become what it originally fought against. Banning the Toronto Police is a huge step backwards just to appease a hate group.
Shame on Toronto pride for excluding uniformed police and police floats from the parade just to appease what amounts to a hate group.
Toronto Pride was held during my stay and I was curious to see this event. Overall it was very interesting experience with many costumed people and atmosphere was nice. But although I am liberal person I was not impressed with naked persons as there were children around (interestingly they were all males I saw at least). And burlesque stage was fantastic. But I would recommend this festival and people should live and let other live.
My husband and I have been attending Pride events together ever since we first met 33 years ago and we have always enjoyed them. This year however we were appalled to learn that Pride Toronto had conceded to Black Lives Matter's extorted demands. If the various police services are prevented from attending future Pride marches then we will no longer be attending either. Pride is supposed to be a celebration of inclusion.
I look forward each year to pride weekend. Growing bigger and bigger each year. So thankful for all the hard work and dedication provided by the executive board and especially the volunteers that work to make pride a great event!!!
I agree with the decision to exclude police floats, etc. The police have spilled too much blood and have terrorized too many people, including minority groups--they don't deserve a spot in the parade. Some people don't want to hear it but it is empirically true: more black people have been murdered by the police than by middle-east terrorists. As such, blacks have every right to fear police more than middle-east terrorists. I would also like to see Pride hire more private security as a way to reduce the amount of police who patrol the parade and street fair. The police can stay home--most people at Toronto Pride don't want them there anyway.
Shame on you. Pride is supposed to be a diverse celebration for all. You banned our police service, over childish drama. At least NYC is accepting. Grow up! Till then, you've been boycotted.
Lovely time ... very grateful to be able to express myself!
The house and host of all pride events in toronto
Great to volunteer with
Pride Toronto is so fun specially when you to go to church st. And party at the street there is a lot of things that is happening so must go and join the event.
Please dont give this organization a cent. They care less about LGBTQ and more about black lives matter.... just look at their Facebook and Twitter pages. Give your support and money to organizations that dont incite identity politics and actually support the LGBTQ community.
For all the people attacking Black Lives Matter - maybe you might want to consider what a tolerant, safe and diverse pride is for a black person. If you are filled with an underlying sense of fear when you see police is that a safe place for you? When I go to pride I see a lot of diversity..but I don't see the diversity of the city. I see a much higher % of white men. Its a safe place for white men. I am very thankful to Black Lives Matter - and until pride realizes they need Black Lives Matter - and REAL, ACTUAL equity for all then its not truly a gay pride event - its a white gay pride event.
After attending the York Region Pride, I realized that Toronto Pride is too political and polarized. It is no longer about inclusion, acceptance, and bringing together a community.
Concerning our parade: Our police and politicians are in the parade supporting the gay community. Black Lives Matter where there with an agenda. They have nothing to do with the theme and reason for this parade. Why are you allowing them to push you around? If they want to parade down Young St let them arrange their own. We promise not to behave as badly as they did. If you let them dictate to us then you might as well cancel Pride week as it will no longer have meaning.
I have been in the travel industry for quite a long time, and, after traveling to many places to attend pride festivals; I can honestly say that Toronto should be on every gay man or womans agenda of things to do. It was one of the best organized events I have ever been too! And personally could go on for hours about how much fun I had! This is a five star event! Thanks Canada!
I can't believe a parade that is supposed to be inclusive and celebrate all people is banning police from marching in the parade. This is a disgrace and I'm appalled that this is happening in Toronto! I won't be attending the parade this year and I encourage others to do the same! Shame on you Toronto for giving into racist BLM demands. Dispicable!
We provided engineering services for their truss structures and Pride Toronto won't pay us or the rental company. Wonder how many other people they didn't pay.
It was a wonderful parade! I can't wait to go again next year.
To all those hating?
Go shove your hateful comments up your ass and stop bringing other people's pride down because you don't have any.
Banning the police from the pride parade is so intelligent, and you still expect them to provide security for free. I'm boycotting Toronto pride until you apologize for banning them. Stop supporting a hate group that praises cop killers such as the Dallas shooter
Black lives matter in Toronto are nothing but phonies that feed of issues that happenes in USA they want attention and they want to be part of something to add to their boring life. If black lives really cared what American police is doing then i would suggest visiting chicago and help black communities over there. I want to see black lives try to pull this on Carabana weekend.
To all those giving the parade bad ratings en-masse because of the police ban: grow some brain cells. It hasn't even started yet! You can at least wait to make proper judgement. From my experience LAST YEAR, it was pretty good. Very hot, though, but it was Summer so of course it was expected. Quite crowded, but there's lots of adjacent cafes and restaurants to take refuge in if the heat gets to you, which is what my girlfriend and I did. We found it just as good of an experience to watch the parade from indoors.
Totally taken over by outside non-gay interests, BLM, gender-revisionists, and a host of other SJW interests. NOT my Pride. Didn't attend.
This organization is NOT what it used to be. This organization should just merge with Black lives matter. Stop funding this organization until their values are aligned with the LGBT community
Not what it used to be. It has become a poorly planned party.
Horrible call for banning the police during pride this year.
