About Preston thompson guitars
Acoustic Guitars made by hand in Sisters, Oregon. Built by master guitar builders for the greatest tone and feel one can have.
Preston Thompson Guitars: The Epitome of Handcrafted Acoustic Guitars
Preston Thompson Guitars is a renowned company that specializes in crafting high-quality acoustic guitars by hand. Located in Sisters, Oregon, the company has been building guitars for over 40 years and has earned a reputation for producing some of the finest instruments in the world.
The company was founded by Preston Thompson, who started building guitars as a hobby in his garage. His passion for guitar-making soon turned into a full-time business when he realized that there was a demand for handcrafted acoustic guitars. Today, Preston Thompson Guitars is run by master luthier and CEO, Preston's protégé - Zak Krzewski.
What sets Preston Thompson Guitars apart from other guitar manufacturers is their commitment to using only the finest materials and traditional techniques to create their instruments. Each guitar is crafted with precision and care to ensure that it delivers exceptional tone and playability.
One of the things that make these guitars so special is their attention to detail. Every aspect of each instrument is carefully considered, from the selection of tonewoods to the placement of bracing inside the body. This meticulous approach ensures that every guitar produced by Preston Thompson Guitars has its own unique voice.
The tonewoods used in these guitars are carefully selected based on their tonal properties and visual appeal. The company uses only premium-grade woods such as Adirondack spruce, Brazilian rosewood, mahogany, maple or koa - all sourced sustainably whenever possible - ensuring that each instrument looks as good as it sounds.
Another factor contributing to these instruments' superior sound quality is their construction method: all-guitar bodies are built using traditional methods like hot hide glue joinery which allows wood fibers to bond together creating an incredibly resonant structure; scalloped bracing patterns which allow more movement while maintaining structural integrity; and hand-carved necks that provide a comfortable playing experience.
Preston Thompson Guitars offers a wide range of models to suit different playing styles and preferences. From dreadnoughts to OM's, from 12-fret to 14-fret neck joints, from cutaways to non-cutaways - there is something for everyone. The company also offers custom options such as inlay work, binding choices, and other personalized touches.
In addition to their exceptional craftsmanship, Preston Thompson Guitars also provides excellent customer service. The company's team of experts is always available to answer any questions or concerns that customers may have about their instruments. They are committed to ensuring that every customer is completely satisfied with their purchase.
Overall, Preston Thompson Guitars is a company that truly embodies the art of guitar-making. Their commitment to quality materials and traditional techniques has earned them a reputation as one of the best acoustic guitar manufacturers in the world. If you're looking for an instrument that delivers exceptional tone and playability while being crafted with care by master luthiers - look no further than Preston Thompson Guitars!
