Fun to sample the different types of jams and jelly and teas. A lot of variety to choose from and very helpful and pleasent staff.

Chips in the kids meal were stale, chowder was cold, biscuit had no taste. The strawberry rhubarb pie was all filling with no crust. They had no pizza or pasta in the kids menu because they had ran out. Over priced and not worth it. The preserve samples were great though.
Lovely place with beautiful views and delicious food.
Nice breakfast, brunch. There is a butterfly place nearby. Awesome too.
Beautiful location and decor!!! Sit by the window of you can. We had the homemade lemonade and iced tea (cut with half lemonade on the waitresses spot-on recommendation) which were both delicious! My boyfriend ordered the lobster pot pie and it was really freaking good and I had the potato pie which was also good. Wish I had ordered one of their teas, they all sounded delicious and came in beautiful tea sets! This place is a tad pricey, but it s worth the splurge.
Beautiful room with a spectacular view. Friendly service, good selection, well-prepared food. Classic breakfast with eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and blueberry pancakes was delicious and filling.
Service was excellent; gardens and restaurant atmosphere was terrific. Food was ok.
Went here for breakfast on the last day of our vacation. Was a bit of a wait to get in but we were able to pass time in their beautiful gardens. Food was amazing and came quickly even with how busy they were. Will definitely be back on next trip to PEI.
Great breakfast (especially the homefries), wonderful tea selection, good jam and a stunning view. Changing stations in the mens and womens bathrooms, which is always very convenient. Very kind service. We'll be back.
Best breakfast I have had in a while. Preserves were excellent. It was busy when we arrived so were told there was a 30 minute wait. There was so much to see in the boutique and on the grounds that the wait flew by. Will definitely go again.
Get your jams on here! Simply one of the best preserve companies in the world! Flying back and are afraid customs is going to take it away (so they can snack on it...)? You can order directly from their website!
One of our personal favorite places to go on pei.Great food at reasonable prices. Beautiful gardens to stroll through and a wonderful gift shop with tasting station for preserves.
Excellent preserves! My wife and I absolutely love the BBQ sauce! The habanero mango sauce is a must try for spicy BBQ chicken. Haven't tried the restraunt but would like to. Great views!
We tried some nice jams and then has coffee in the cafe. Our 6 year old enjoyed some great blueberry pancakes. I liked watching the kingfishers on the river.
Wonderful park to walk through, butterfly reserve and a good restaurant
Great spot for breakfast or tea + dessert. Several of the dishes are mediocre (e.g. Sandwiches & kids menu), but their signature dishes are popular (e.g. Potato Pie, seafood items)
Went for lunch! Restaurant ambiance with the large windows overlooking a picturesque river and garden, the fish ornated stained-glass, high ceilings, wooden country aesthetic.
Service so fast and friendly!
Many gluten-free options clearly marked on the menu.
Nachos great. Unique fruit salsa flavors available for tasting and purchase in-house. GRILLED VEGI SANDWICH WAS AMAZING
You can walk in the gardens outside as well. And there's a store.
I would of given a better score but I was really disappointed with customer service. We asked for a table of 5 but they marked us down for 4. So we got put in que to wait again for a table for 5. If they had listened and put us in for a table of 5 instead of 4 we wouldn't have to wait for over 40 minutes. Another thing was we asked about peanuts as we had a member of our party that had an alergy to pea nuts. Hostess said the food could have contact and the waiter said no peanuts on premises except maybe a tree nut (peacons).
So those items prevented me from giving 5 stars.
Food was very good- no concerns at all. Grounds, shop, scenery, etc are all very lovely. Our problem was the service in the restaurant. Our server, an older lady, was very friendly but overwhelmed with her job. She greeted us after we had waited for several minutes at our table and said she would bring us our water. Never happened. After 15 minutes or so, she saw us looking around and realized she had forgotten us- even admitted so. Placed our order and finally got a glass of water but not the coffee we had ordered. In the meantime, a cruise ship bus came in and they got priority service. Finally got our food after half an hour. Had to ask for our coffee again. No refills and no checks to see if everything is okay. Loved my meal- service not so much. As well, I have an allergy to wine vinegars and asked if any salad dressings contained them- never found out. Desserts looked great but didn t want to take chance of waiting long periods
Very good food I was impressed. Good PEI service. I did enjoy the view of the river, good assortment on the menu and yes got to have dessert. I would suggest to the owners, upgrade the chair. This is the only reason they got 4
Best selection of Dunoon "in the world" ! Delicious jam.
This place is really good, the they have a restaurant, little walk and jam! Everything here is delightful. I remember coming here as a young child and it's the same as I remember
One of my favourite places on the Island. Enjoy a meal (fish cakes are my favourite), and then take a walk through the Gardens of Hope along the river.
Potato pie was amazing and they had an incredible tomato bisque that I enjoyed a great deal. A wonderful place to eat, and there are some great views. The preserves themselves are high quality and delicious, we bought a bunch of jams to take home
We go here each summer for a meal or two. The location is wonderful, with a great view! Food is generally very good and reasonably priced. Today we stopped by for tea and dessert. The lemon curd cake was fantastic. The blueberry pie was a bit too sweet so the lovely blueberry tartness got lost in all that sugar. Recommended.
5 stars for the preserves shop and the surrounding gardens. I've never eaten at the restaurant so can't comment on that but can recommend that the gardens alone are worth the stop.
At the preserves store you'll find an amazing selection of spreads, sauces, and teas.
Great place to find affordable gifts and a bite to eat! The cheery atmosphere gives a pleasant enjoyment with a wonderful view!
Bacon dry egg cold. Good service. Noisy with lot of kids this am.
Lovely dining on the River Clyde. Beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff. Stop in at the gift shop on your way out.
While the jam/store side is fine, the restaurant food is cheap and you get what you pay for. My lunch was only 8 dollars and you know what? I didn't want an 8 dollar lunch. My sandwich looked like something you pick up at the gas station. I wanted a 17 dollar lunch, presented nicely with quality ingredients. They have much better food at road side diners around Charlottetown. Was seriously disappointed and will never go back.
Great if all you care about is saving money - in which case you might as well stop by the grocery store and get sandwich ingredients because it will definitely work out better for you.
They need to improve the food quality and presentation and add at least 50 to 100% onto the price of everything and upscale it a bit more.
They obviously need some new management, because this is a missed opportunity! The scenery is great, the venue is great, the food is junk.
Staff were really nice. Homemade ice tea was delicious
I didn't realize when I first came here, but there are actually 3 reasons to visit the Preserve Company.
1. THE SHOP: Perhaps the main reason most people visit, is for the delicious jams and spreads and other goodies found in their shop. We tried a good number of them and they were all delicious. There is a good selection of unique flavours as well.
2. THE RESTAURANT: Really enjoyed the restaurant, the food was all very delicious and fresh with good options. Ate here twice and both times the waiters were very friendly. It's a really good space to just chat and enjoy the beautiful scenery outside. The portions were a bit on the small side but overall I would still recommend.
3. THE GARDEN: I think a lot of tourist might just swing by, pick up some jam and leave, but after eating at the restaurant decided to take a stroll around the garden. It's quite beautiful, you can tell they took a lot of time, care and effort with it. I think the property is used at times for a retreat centre as well, overall it's just a really tranquil and beautiful area.
I would recommend visit the store to by some jam, enjoy a nice meal and then after take a nice walk through the garden.
One of our favorite places! Enjoy a delightful cup of tea, delicious meal and dessert or sample the many preserves made on the premise. The dining room overlooks the Clyde River and the Gardens of Hope. Take a stroll through the lovely gardens and enjoy the beautiful views. The Butterfly House at the top of the gardens is a hit with both children and adults. You'll not be disappointed in your visit!
Brought the little kids here to visit the butterfly house. We enjoyed it, but it is over-priced.
Dining room is a great breakfast option. Homey atmosphere, great views and beautiful gardens. Preserve shop offers a large variety of samples. Definitely worth a stop!
A must do. Decent food and the best jams on the island. Breakfast is good and reasonably priced.
Extraordinary, friendly staff, exceptional food, the best "seafood chowder" on the island!
Scenic Island beauty: gardens, butterflies, preserves, and a sweet little cafe.
Their desserts are fantastic but the actual meals leave something to be desired. It's as if they were premade and then heated up.
I am never let down here! The food and service are spectacular.
What a great experience! Delicious preserves you can taste before purchase. A beautiful restaurant with a stunning view and delicious food. Gorgeous gardens including a butterfly house, a whimsical fairy garden inside a magic forest and lots of beautiful trails. So much to explore!!!
Superb Island landmark. Great food and excellent desserts. Highly recommended.
Delicious preserves! Many tasty free samples- my favourite was the strawberry rhubarb. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the seafood chowder in the restaurant.
Great view, good food, reasonable price, lots of tea and home baking, a must visit.
Friendly store, we were actually greeted by the owner/founder! Literally hundreds of preserves and flavorings! Great little restaurant too! Clean and easygoing shopping and dining!
An absolutely beautiful, relaxing place right in the heart of tourist-country in PEI. They have the most DELICIOUS jams, sauces, teas, and home made PEI goods available in all of New London and surrounding areas!! Go to their little restaurant inside and enjoy their mouth-watering desserts, especially the Tiramisu!!!
The food was delicious. Would recommend, though, that a jam company haat least waffles as an important part of an all day breakfast. $$$$.
Wow! Perfect serving size, perfect staff, and perfect good. Not too touristy and worthy it. Would go again!
It was fantastic.Food wonderful..service great..entertainment..very good.
Came with GLOBUS today at noon.Loved it and highly recommend it
Enjoyed shopping for preserves. Liked sampling the teas and jams. Great for gifts!
Amazing breakfast, great service, and an incredible view. What more can you ask for?
We ate at the restaurant here as part of an excursion from a cruise ship. It was the best meal we have had on this trip. The owner is so engaging and gregarious.. he really adds to the experience. After our feast of fresh lobster, we sampled the preserves which were so good I *may* have bought $120 worth. I highly recommend this spot!
Food was good. Portion size was small. Very nice view!
Ranked as the #1 Restaurant by TripAdvisor at New Glasgow in PEI, Prince Edward Island Preserve Co is the most picturesque restaurant I've ever visited in a small town setting!
Don't forget to taste Lobster Chowder from their menu! Absolutely delicious!
Amazing view, food, service and personnal pot of tea!
If you like jam, this is the place for you. There are some amazing aspects to the preserve company, but the dining experience is a miss. The range and quality of the preserves is excellent. They also offer a lot of free samples, which helps when you're looking to buy a jar. Interestingly, our favorite part were the gardens! They were idyllic, peaceful, and restorative. Not many people seemed to venture outside, but they're perhaps the best part. The preserves and garden are a solid 5 stars.
Unfortunately, the dining experience was sub-par, 2 stars at best. The tables were cheap and unclean. We ordered a slice of ice cream cake. While it was very delicious, it was a sliver; perhaps 3cm wide. After tax and tip it came to $9, but for the size and quality, it shouldn't have been more than $5.
Try the jams, lie in the gardens, but skip the dining hall.
Excellent food, friendly service and a great location. The "Gardens of Hope" are definitely worth a stroll. On top of that, there is free level 2 charging available for your EV.
Found this little gem a few years ago. We cross the bridge every year just to get some preserve and breakfast.
The food is so good, coffee amazing and you can shop for some preserves! I mean how much more fun can it get
The sceneries are beautiful. You can take a walk in the garden to digest everything.
A must if your in the area. You will not regret!!!
Great fresh seafood. Friendly people. Beautiful sights.
I've visited this place a couple times now, I always like the food, love the jam and spend some time in their gardens. Awesome experience
I was served a bowl of left-over mussels that came in a bowl of dirty salt water (presumably the same stuff they store the mussels in after cooking them). When I asked the waitress about it she lied and tried to tell me it was a white wine sauce. She did admit I was given an "extra big portion because the cook was going to throw them out anyways". So basically I paid to be their waste disposal service?
Granted, we visited the place later in the shift, but when I pay the same price as the people eating at the start of the shift, I expect the same quality.
Very disappointed.
We visited this restaurant as part of a cruise excursion. The owner is wonderful and the food is great.
A tasty stop. Jams & preserves of all kinds made right here, home made ice cream, lunch/dinner, views of osprey diving in the River Clyde, butterfly house, botanical garden. A stop worthy of your time.
Very happy with the food and service. Feels very authentic and welcoming. The prices also seemed reasonable given the quality and service. Beautiful gardens that make for an amazing wall after a meal. Also, didn't have a chance to have dessert, but will definitely be going back as it looked amazing.
great food that leaves you feeling satisfied but not stuffed. The gardens are also a great way to enjoy some peaceful time after or before eating
This restaurant and shop caters to the tourist crowd, but it is a lovely place for lunch and tea.
Really bad service
We got to the location at 12:30pm and waited about 30 minutes for a table, which was fine with us. We were then seated and got our appetizer right way. We then waited about two hours for our main dishes! The food was good but not for the two hour wait! We left around 3pm.
Will not be going back
What a beautiful gift shop. Their homemade preserves are delicious, and they have lots of other little things in their too.
If you go to PEI you should make plans to go here, preferably in the morning for their breakfast offerings especially.
Very nice store to visit a must traveling to Prince Edward Island
Had a wonderful potato pie. I was skeptical at first but made me a believer out of me
Tha potatoes pie was delicious, as was the fish cakes and steak &cheese sandwich. For dessert there is always the raspberry cheesecake pie
And the new sticky date pudding. The meal as a whole was a 10 out of 10.
Cute stop. The preserves are wonderful and you can sample to your heart's content. You will surely be heading home with the Raspberry with Champagne and Wild Blueberry Lemon. So good! Be sure to walk down through the beautiful garden near the water. Gorgeous view!
Food was great. But never had a 10.00 beer in my life. Not sure if I will be back. Felt I was taken advantage of. But !!
Great place. Although it took quite a while to get the food.
Sooooo scenic. Great food and preserves from the shop too.
I had a signature dish of this restaurant. cheese potato pie there with home made sauce using a bit maple syrup .very friendly atmosphere and tasty food....also homemade products such as jam and tea are available on the store in the same site.
It was an awesome experience. Grand
children loved it.
Beautiful island. See you again in 2020 God willing
The food was AMAZING! well priced, great staff, beautiful stained glass windows, and all while overlooking their trail. The trail is also beautiful. The store contains beautiful local art (also in the restauarant) as well as a large variety of jams and teas to name a few. their jam is very tasty and they offer shipping if you don't have room in your luggage.
