I had prepared for 2 yrs. Never filed a claim or paid my annual premium late. I received a non-renewal letter stating the reason for non-renewal was "aggregate exposure management". Layman's terms... my home value is too expensive to insure. Dont waste your time with this company. They will charge you high premiums then drop you with no justification.

If zero stars were an option, I certainly would have selected that. I've been in a battle with this agency trying to meet their frivolous requests to maintain my policy for the past 6 months. They've caused me nothing but stress and frustration. Their inspection report contained obvious photos of roofs that weren't even mine. Being in a central townhome unit, when you see an end building with grass beside it, you know they're looking at the wrong place. Also, considering that I live in a newer complex where the roof has ~15 more years of life left and Prepared is requiring me to replace the roof at 100% cost to me by next year, I've decided to drop my policy and not look back. I hope those who choose to work with them have better luck but as for me, I will spend my money and efforts elsewhere. Every. Single. Time.

When our roof was damaged from a hail storm, we submitted a claim for replacement. We received excellent claim service and our assigned representative was always available to answer questions and resolve any issues. I can't say enough about their attention and swift resolution of the claim.

Dear prepared insurance and I hope this goes to the CEO of the company,

Three weeks ago our stove literally blew up. I have severe asthma but thank goodness everyone was okay.

I have never had to use an insurance company except for my car one time in my life.

The experience I have had with your company has been one of the best I have ever had to go through, especially with Valerie, one of your claims agents. While this was all going on Valerie had a tragedy in her own family she lost her father.

I am the consummate networker and if I was famous I would do a commercial for you :-).

That Valerie who is part of your staff is stellar as well as the dry cleaning company that you use and Fire Services.

But if it hadn't been for Valerie managing and coordinate everything this could have been a nightmare. Thank you so much for everything and feel free to use this as an advertisement. And give Valeria $40,000 increased :-).

Kindest regards,

Marianne Flynn Webdell

My wife and I moved into a new house in 2014 and we had a major water leak caused by our laundry room sink. The faucet broke off and water pretty much damaged multiple rooms. It is an expensive house and so the parts that were damaged(marble flooring, granite counter tops etc.) were very expensive to repair or replace. We have been in a legal battle with them ever since. We have had private adjusters come out that tell us what they are offering to pay will not even cover 1/4 of the damages. Very unhappy and just wish that companies would honor their word according to their contract. Whats the point of paying for insurance if we have to pay most of it out of pocket?

It is now 5 months after the hurricane. We lost the majority of our roof and those tiles are no longer made. Still no resolution to pay the claim at ANY level. They do NOT return calls, they do not do anything unless you ride them. STAY FAR AWAY. Do not get insurance from this company!!!

We have had prepared insurance for a few years and never submitted a claim -- standard for us. Then we got hit by Irma. Our community took a direct hit and our pool cage and plantings were damaged and several tiles were blown off the roof -- but the cost of repairs was far less than our hurricane deductible so I paid it.
Then I learned that our roof may had been more severely damaged so I had it inspected to learn that it was more than 25% damaged and submitted a claim to Prepared. Prepared followed up with their own inspection -- a third party service --- and my inspection damage report was confirmed with a roofing allowance far greater than my initial estimate.
The Prepared insurance adjuster contacted me to grant the claim and went back over the damage that I had already paid. I was reimbursed for everything and additionally for all the food I lost in the freezer as we were without power for several days. Never a problem with them and completely fair. I was even more impressed when I began to discover that several of my neighbors with similar damage and reports had their claims denied by their carriers and are in litigation. Needless to say that i just renewed our homeowners policy with prepared.

I purchased a home in August 3, 2018 and paid the insurance policy for the entire year. The home was built in 2002. The insurance company canceled my policy on 11/21/18 due to not replacing the roof on the 16 year old home. The shingles on the home I purchased have a 25 year warranty so why would the insurance company make me replace a roof that still has 9 years left on the warranty?. Then on top of that, they hassled around and have not even sent me a refund check yet and today is 11/30/18. If they canceled me on 11/21/18, a check should have been sent the same day. I really need that refund since I currently do not have coverage and I cannot get new coverage with someone else until I receive those funds. Never do business with them again, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I purchased our first home together in October and thought we had found a great company in Prepared but we were wrong. Two months after paying insurance for the full year, we received a letter out of nowhere in the mail on Dec 24th (Christmas Eve) stating our policy was being canceled. What a great gift to receive right before we were leaving to be with family. The reasons listed for cancelation (which are complete BS) were for pre-existing damage to the home and non-disclosure of damage. This was a shock as there was no damage to the house...this was proven through our extensive home inspection (that was provided to Prepared) along with the home inspection done by Prepared themselves. When our agent called to determine what was going on, we were told that there had been water damage claims from the prior owner on the house and this is why they were canceling even though there was no damage that could be identified in the house.

During that call, Prepared told our agent that if we fixed some cracked roof tiles and provided documented proof it was fixed the policy would not be canceled. So the last week of December while out of state with family for the holidays, I spent hours trying to track down a contractor to provide a quote and perform the work Prepared requested. After finding a contractor that could come give a quote the first week of January, we called Prepared to see if they could give us one more week to complete the repair work. During this call, Prepared said no extension and a manager reviewed and stated the policy would not be continued no matter what repairs were made on the house.

So not only did Prepared cancel my policy, I lost time with family during the holidays trying to fulfill their request in order to keep my policy. It was an extremely disappointing situation. In reading similar reviews, this situation seems to a trend with Prepared and I hope others do not go through the same experience.

We have been homeowners for 26 years and never had a claim. We changed our insurance to Prepared in 2015, When a pipe broke in the wall in December I was very nervous about how the insurance would treat us.We had significant damage to our lovely hardwood floors. Valerie Walker was so helpful every step of the way beginning with a water restoration company that we didn't even know we needed. She gave meticulous attention to our claim and the company was very fair to us throughout the entire process.

BAD company,,this is the last year I'm using them! AND I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THEY RESPOND SO KINDELY TO EVERY REVIEW , BUT YOU CALL BACK AND NOTHING WORKS OUT!

Long story short. Bought a house and problems started day 1 with this insurance. Initially they were very hard to get ahold of. Once that was worked out it seemed like things were going to get better. But every month they stated they needed something else. Very strange because you would think all the information would be needed PRIOR to writing up our policy. Apparently not. Then out of the blue we get a notice our policy was being canceled. I called them up right away and they stated they needed a couple more pics. I sent what they requested and then called to see if the pics were acceptable to the info they needed. I was told they would be submitted and they would let me know if anything else needed. Well, last night I received a check in the mail for the remaining payments for the year. No explanation..nothing..just a check. I am just flabbergasted to say the least.

Bottom line up front: They said my service dog wouldn't be a factor for home insurance. They got their money, asked for pictures and went back on their word by dropping me. However they tried to keep my policy for as long as possible, to reimburse as little money as possible (they dropped me 3 months into a 12 month policy). I found a more encompassing policy for $400 cheaper than Prepared.

Whole story:
Prepared assured me that my dogs would not be a factor. Upon receiving my $1700 year payment, they asked for pictures of my dogs, determining that my service dog "looked like a pit bull mix". After telling Prepared she is a service dog with papers available, they simply said "We will check and get back to you." This was in the beginning of January. Prepared came back and said they were dropping me effective Feb 5th, a whole month later. After asking a few probing questions, I found out that they would not actually cover me in between Jan and Feb 5th, but would charge me for that month. Turns out, whichever months I did not use, they had to include in the reimbursement check, therefore they wanted to keep me as long as possible. I immediately dropped Prepared and found another insurance company who would not only write me a plan without any breed restrictions, but wrote me a better plan, with more coverage, for $400 cheaper per year. While canceling with Prepared, they tried to get me to sign the cancellation paperwork without a reimbursement amount. After going back and forth, they agreed to put the amount in the cancellation paperwork and I was done. If you have dogs that even remotely look like a restricted breed, avoid this company. Even if he/she is a service dog, they will still drop you.
