Amazing facility run by amazing people. There are SOOO many resources out there that a lot of people aren t aware of especially for mommy s that they introduce you to. Not only that but they themselves have resources open to you if you just take the time and effort to put yourself out there.
I had a very upsetting experience gong to this center when I was a senior at Penn State. I went for the free STD testing without realizing this is an anti-abortion and pro-abstinence center that hides their agenda behind free services. They are a Christian funded organization (a fact that is mentioned only once on their website and is difficult to see), and the volunteer who tested me tried to scare me. I highly recommend getting tested for STD's but do not go to this center unless you share their values - for me, they were inappropriate, unprofessional, and the person who assisted me clearly had no medical background, and was a volunteer with a religious agenda.
I went in (as a student) for their free STD testing. I was very concerned and honestly scared coming in, as a non-religious person knowing this was a faith-based organization, and having read some negative reviews. The paperwork was a little invasive but I was very pleasantly surprised. A nurse named Rachel walked me through the testing, and a woman named Katie/Kathy maybe gave me my results. I did not feel that anyone was trying to push their agenda on me, but rather, tell me about safety. I was also repeatedly told by everyone that I was always welcome back at any time, for any reason. I truly felt that the clinic cared for me and my well-being, and I recommend to anyone looking for services.
The PRC is very supportive and the staffs are friendly. They offer various resources to help me get through the difficult time of my new mom life. I highly recommend the PRC for any new and expecting moms.
The PRC is a warm, welcoming, and safe place for everyone, regardless of your religious, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. All staff and volunteers are nice, supportive, and most importantly, non-judgmental. The PRC has helped me tremendously throughout my pregnancy and my first year of being a mom. I highly recommend this place for any new and expecting moms.
I come here twice a year for routine STI testing. Great services, great people, and always very friendly. They treat you like family and genuinely care. They may ask if they can pray with or for you, but are not aggressive with their religion, and they respect who you are. Great resource for everyone living in State College.
They have been such a wonderful blessing in my life I don t even know where to start. I was going through a very difficult time with my second pregnancy I didn t have the courage to talk to anyone about it and they were the support I needed and beyond helping me step by step. Jenny has been so helpful and has really gone out of her way to help me love her million Thanks to them for what they do.
State College is blessed to have a place like Pregnancy Resource Clinic. I have been to PRC twice as a client and worked with Taylor and Tara-I was so happy with both appointments and had very pleasant experiences. The ladies at the front desk are all so friendly and bubbly. I felt that during my appointments they were truely trying to connect with me and help me, rather than just rush me through and get their day over with. It is nice to feel like you matter. I will definitely going back to PRC if I ever have the need. I have also been to the Open House and had a BLAST! Can t wait for the Banquet!!
DO NOT GO HERE! First, they gave me chlamydia and here is how I know I got tested twice in the same day and only their came back as positive after the first one I had earlier that day was negative. Second , they claim their actions are not God motivated, if you go here someone will ask if they can pray over you and pray over you even if you say no because that makes them feel comfortable. ALSO, a non-medical volunteer (a church volunteer) will sit in during the entire time, yes even when you are talking about your medical info. If you want that person to leave you have to leave the vicinity. This place is HORRIBLE.
This center and all "Pregnancy Crisis/Resource Centers" are a hoax. Please read about them before visiting--I BEG you. This center does not offer contraception. No birth control, no condoms. This center is Christian backed and, as such, advises against abortion and will not provide contraception (see attached picture). They can give you a pregnancy test, test for STIs, and give you an ultrasound in an attempt to persuade you to keep the fetus. The only "abortion counseling" they offer is designed to make the patient feel guilty (see attached picture). I lived around the corned from this business for two years and always assumed it functioned as a women's health clinic/ Planned Parenthood. IT DOES NOT. If you need low cost pregnancy help, contraception or abortion help, the nearest Planned Parenthood is in Harrisburg. The Megabus goes to Harrisburg, please go there. As a note to the center- I support abortion down to the teeth but if you and your faith do not, comprehensive and compassionate sex education and free CONTRACEPTION is the best way to bring the abortion rate down. Shame on you.
