I work in the Engineering Department, working on solar plans, permitting, and quality assurance. This is a wonderful place to work, the whole team is family, and by far the best place I've ever had the pleasure of being employed. Friendly staff in all departments. I have very much enjoyed the past 4 years and look forward to a productive future with this team!

Precis was an excellent company to work with. Our panels have been up for 5 years now and they are still going strong. For solar owners that see a decrease in power, I would highly recommend cleaning your panels at least a few times per year. Our family has noticed our output increase after each cleaning.

I was asked to to call them once I have a closing ...

I was asked to to call them once I have a closing date. I called, and it's not my first poor customer service experience with them.
There was a rep named Chris Doperman, was very dismissive and rude. Unapologetic. Even after I explained how smug he sounded on the phone once he told me to call back again after I move in.
I stated fine, I'm only doing what Sunpower asked me to do: to call them initially once I have a closing date.
I told them why not just tell me off the bat to call them once I moved in? Why make me stay on hold for 10-20 minutes just for them to call back again?
He then began to tell me very curtly that he did tell me that -- like a parrot on repeat, "I did tell you that". He sounded like an unapologetic child.
I said no, I'm only calling today to let you know what you asked me to do. Then once again, told me to call back once I move in.
The conversation had been calm up to this point.
I then told him honestly that he is not good a handling customer service. That I understand one person emailing me and telling me to do something cannot be held responsible for the next rep such as he, I told him I understand the miscommunication but the way he is replying is disrespectful.
He even had the gall to tell me "I didnt apologize on purpose"
Which I told him, I don't want your apology at this point, I need to speak to his supervisor.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS, RELATIVES, FURTHER COLLEAGUES. STAY AWAY FROM SUNPOWER. AWFUl, AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Great service and I highly recommend them. Ben Poole was especially very informative and helpful in helping me navigate through all the information. My system turned out and performed just as expected and advertised. I m so glad to be saving money over paying more and more for my SDG&E bill. Especially during the summer months with all the heat! Thank Ben and Precis for the great service!

We had a great experience with SunPower by Precis. We have been up and running for about 2 years and I wanted to stop by and give a great review for the company. My wife is what you would call "a hard sell" and she asked lots of questions. Each question was answered and we felt comfortable moving forward. After installation, I was concerned about the output and they were able to come over and find that something had become disconnected, they fixed it, and we were up and running better than they projected. We've been happy since and I figure it will keep going as smoothly as it has thus far. Thanks!

I finally listened to my wife to get the solar installed in our home. All my neighbors have them and I was the only one in the block that did not have them yet. I was referred to different companies but I did my own research and I was able to go with SunPower by Precis. I loved their customer service and was able to get an appointment when i was available. My salesman Oscar Espinoza arrived on time and explained everything to my how it worked and what products was recommended. We were able to make a deal and with in few month I was up and running. They also upgraded my electrical panel and now I said good by to my $250-$500 electrical bill and hello to my new $14 dollars bill from Edison.

I recommend SunPower by Precis.

Our salesman, Devin was polite and informative. But our house wasn't sized properly. We purchased the solar, took out a loan. Our house now costs more to operate per year than it ever did. We spoke to the office, they audited it and said it was fine and that WE were using more. When actually, after we purchased solar and it was installed, I changed every bulb to LED, and installed a smart/energy star thermostat. I clean my panels regularly. They mentioned my trees being tall, well they've been there before the solar so wouldn't you think they'd adjust the amount of panels accordingly? And finally, they SUGGESTED more panels added to the system, of course I would have to pay out of pocket for them, $3000-$5000...
The installation is top notch quality, I can tell you that. No conduit on the walls or across the roof. Really clean.

Shop around, do your homework on solar first.

I did a massive amount of research on solar panel ...

I did a massive amount of research on solar panel technology, inverter technology, average cost per watt, our home power consumption, and comparing price vs system efficiency. After the research we decided that REC 370 solar panels with Enphase iQ7+ micro inverters was the right mix of cost vs performance and technology. We paid about 2.7 dollars per watt for Sunpower by Precis to install our entire system. If that was the end of the story that would be good. However, from the sales person Kathy to the engineering team to the production team to the installation team then the final check out with the power company and the city, all the paper work was done for me and was checked thoroughly. Any question was answered quickly. Fran even found an error from the Solar Panel manufacture warranty paper work out of Germany and had them resolve the problem immediately. I would never have noticed the error in 1 of the 30 panels but Fran noticed it and emailed them and informed me. It was taken care of and followed up on to completion.
I can not say enough about every phase of the process. The installation crew was very professional and communicated with us about everything they were doing. The check out service person gave me a great overview of the system and even replaced a bad switch in my existing service panel. I did not get all of their names but Thank you Kathy, Aryn, Fran, Chelsea, and all the installers, and check out people. Great job!

**DO NOT USE Sunpower by Precis aka PRECIS SOLAR**...

**DO NOT USE Sunpower by Precis aka PRECIS SOLAR**

20 of my 25 solar panels failed within the first 2 years. 80% failure rate. There was a fire sparked from their junction box on top of my roof. I was told from Precis that it was due to moisture buildup in their waterproof box which they had drilled a hole in for the moisture to drain. The only reason I knew the solar panels failed was due to a bill at the end of the period roll up from Southern California Edison for $2,341.98. Not expecting that bill as the previous year I had a positive amount and received ~$100 from SCE.

I contacted Precis immediately where they found that 20 solar panels had not been working. When I purchased the solar panels AND MONITORING SYSTEM from Precis, it was not installed correctly and the system was not commissioned through Sunpower so I and they could not use the monitoring system which I paid for. I was told at time of purchase that Precis will monitor my system to make sure that if anything goes wrong, which it wouldn't, that they will fix the issue right away.

I obviously escalated the issue to their V.P. Matt. I have called his office and left him notifications to call me back on 8 occasions in the previous month. I have only gotten a hold of him 1 time and that was because he actually picked up. He was extremely rude and accusatory to me. He stated that they do not monitor their clients systems, he does not know why my system was never commissioned so that I could monitor it, and I am told that it is MY FAULT for their faulty installation and failure of 80% of the panels. He told me to send him pictures of the electrical fire which I did within 10 min of the phone call. I have never heard from him since or had him call me back with my follow up phone calls to him. All I want is for them to cover the $2,341.98 bill from SCE due to Precis' failure to properly install my system. Nothing more nothing less.

So I paid ~$36k for the system and get stuck with a bill from SCE for another $2,341.98 that all failed prior to it lasting 2 years.

You can see from the pictures from what the tech removed from my roof of the electrical box (rust, oxidation, and electrical fire) that happened. Remember, this is less than 2 years old and a "waterproof box" that builds moisture in which they drill a hole in for it to drain. You can also see the Tech putting his legs on the actual fragile solar panels as he worked at fixing the box. Did he break some of the solar cells? Who knows.

This still has not been resolved.
