I had a home contents auction with Pottle Auctions in Elizabeth Bay. I had to help my my parents sell their collection of art and antiques etc as they were downsizing.

Highly recommended, so much knowledge and experience it really paid off. Thank you

i have bid with these guys for nearly Five years. Highly recommended. So many lovely items to buy I always get excited when their catalogue comes online. I buy all different things and I love it too easy .

My criticism isn t with the product but the way it was handled. If an art piece states that it s signed bottom right, that is standard practice for being signed by hand, not signed in the print or on the plate. You had no issue stating that on other pieces. I was told you win some you lose some . Not the type of answer recommended when selling art. I paid a premium price based on your description that was clearly wrong. You win some you lose some and you have the option to obtain more details doesn t cut it. Signed bottom right means exactly that. You should have at least knowing your description was erroneous, refunded the buyer premium! It was your error and you know it! You d have to consider who Fair Trading would support!

Made good: March 2021: Julian made good reimbursing the premium and reselling the item without commission. Commendable fix of a sour situation. That s a plus!

It seems to me that you have not bid at an auction before ? You can t cancel online bids via the phone. You bid online - you need to log on to cancel bids ! It s not rocket science ! Good luck in court - you won t have a leg to stand on.

Sympathy to Pottle Auctions having to deal with such a fool.
