Portland International Jetport is one of those lower stress airports with relatively easy access. The airport feels spacious and there are enough flights you can connect to all the primary hubs. Parking is reasonable in relation to larger airports and there are some food and beer concessions at the airport.

May 27, 2021 - Usually I taxi folks to and from Portland s Jetport, now I have 2 hours of time to explore the jetport and wait for my plane today! Maybe because of the size and population density in Portland ( Maine), this is an efficient & clean Jetport ! I d rank this as a solid 4.7 rating. ( Couple of suggestions toward the conclusion)

As a smaller airport, it s simple to navigate. There s only 1 terminal, no problem finding your gate. There s only 1 baggage claim area with a one long belt that loops the entire area. The Visitor Booth/Information is next to the baggage claim, easy to find. There is a foreign currency exchange service on level 1. There are car rental services & parking garage across the road from baggage claim, easy to find! If you arrive early, there are food services ( Shipyard Brewpub, Burger King, Starbucks, Great American Bagel & Bakery) available. There are several small last minute stores that sell candy, water, gifts, and reading materials at your waiting areas near the gates.

It s a comfortable wait if you re a frequent flyer! Eat before you arrive, you can have snacks in a carry on bag. No liquids allowed through security gates. Buy your water/liquids near your gate, at the last minute stores. You can recharge your electronic devices if you scope out the outlets near your gates. The rocking chairs are the best! Kids like windows to watch big plane action!
Casual & relaxed . . . best frame of mind to flying these days! Chill and have fun!

Love the convenience but most flights require connections and you just can't trust them to get you there on time.
Today's issue was the larger runway was closed so we had to sit for 2 hours to burn off enough fuel to lower the takeoff weight to allow us to use the shorter runway.
The pilot informed us we we were scheduled for the larger runway so it seems like poor airport communication led to this 2 hour delay.
Sorry PWM, you have let me down too many times. Unless it's a direct flight I'll use the more reliable Logan moving forward.

I always use Portland jet port when I am flying out of Maine. They are amazing. They are very considerate when a minor is flying and they give the parent a pass to go with them until they board the plane. Last time I flew my mother brought me and .y little sister came with us so they gave my mother and sister a pass to come with me and made sure that they gave my little sister a pass a ven though they are not aloud to because my sister couldn't stay by herself and they wanted my mother to be able able come with me if she wanted to so they both got passes.

Efficient and attractive airport, thanks to it's small size and thoughtful administration. Some key aspects that I particularly like about it:
-parking is reasonably priced and your car is never more than a 5 minute walk from the terminal, often less.
-good food options
-security line is usually short
-waiting lot across from the baggage claim is super convenient (why don't more airports have this?)
-It's in Portland
Now, if I have to find something to critique... The name. "Jet"port as opposed to "airport"? No one is impressed anymore that it can handle jets. It would only be shameful if it didn't. And it's hardly international. The are no customs facilities here, so it's really just thanks to a few flights from Canada where U.S. customs facilities are on the Canadian end that it qualifies for the designation of "International". But, at this point its name is tradition, so there's at least that.
