I got a month unlimited pass here and have been taking all the classes I can the past several weeks. I have been so amazed by the caliber of each instructor, the breadth of dances the studios teaches, and the warmth and welcome of the owners. I highly recommend the studio as a place to develop skilled dance technique in a comfortable, fun space. It's very welcoming to beginners while giving all level dancers a lot to work on and develop. There's always ample parking on the street just outside too.

I appreciate that the owner is kind, responsive, and works to make situations right as they arise.

This studio, these people, the classes.... WONDERFUL! I found this studio six months ago and have taken Nia, Date Night Dancing and private instruction. I spend three hours here each week dancing NIA with Andrea Bell. This space is filled with such a lovely, warm-hearted group of people. With so many choices on the schedule I often dip my toe into other classes but always come back to NIA. My favorite.

Rachel taught my husband and I a dance for our wedding. My husband has no dance experience (like, can't even find a down beat) and she was wonderful about teaching him the basics, and teaching us beautiful choreography that he had mastered after our 5 classes. The dance was so beautiful it made our wedding DJ cry (she said it was the most beautifully phrased dance she'd ever seen), and was a huge hit with the guests! Working with Rachel was amazing, and she is extremely talented. I highly recommend her for your wedding dance needs.

I first came to Dance with Joy Studios before they expanded and was welcomed and mentored by Rachel. She gives her business all her love and is one of the best dance teachers I know. She has spent decades teaching her art and connects with each and every student with so much care. All her instructors and hopefully me too (I am lucky to be one of her teachers) are all mentored by Rachel to make sure the experience of taking class at Dance with Joy Studios is the optimal learning experience. This studio has many classes to choose from, a host for many years to world renowned instructors that teach workshops, a great place for socials, and also events in beautiful Sellwood! One of the best, most clear, most enjoyable lessons I have been to in months! Rachel is knowledgeable, energetic, warm and very helpful! We showed up the Saturday night social with a lesson in Country Two Step, something we had not tried before, and walked away feeling very comfortable dancing a whole song. She made the rhythm, feel and technique of the dance very accessible and showed us the ropes in just an hour!

Rachel would be a great teacher for dancers at any level! Totally new or looking to refine technique, I can't recommend Dancing with Joy enough!!

This is the best workout I have ever done! And I cannot wait to go back after finishing a class. I am overweight and a little uncoordinated and Kris (the instructor) makes me feel perfectly comfortable and accepted. Kris has so much energy and is fun and positive. She is by far the best instructor I have ever had. Don't miss out on your chance to exercise and have fun at the same time.

My partner and I went to Rachel at Dance with Joy studios for some help with a dance for our wedding. She was so professional, kind, gentle and encouraging in helping us learn a beautiful dance to share on our wedding day. We are complete novices and she put us at ease. We had so much fun practicing and now have such beautiful memories forever of our special dance on our best day ever!

This is a wonderful studio, the atmosphere is welcoming, and Rachel was one of this best instructors I've had: clear, encouraging, and enthusiastic. I will definitely swing by again the next time I'm in town.
